“It’s in our heads, it’s not in theirs” - exactly! 18 of our 33 squad have never even played a World Cup QF before; so they have no history of losing one. As fans, we feel all those QF losses; but the players feel this one game only.

Ireland's defensive game is incredible. With ball in hand they very rarely fail to convert opportunity into a score. They remind me a lot of the All Blacks of years gone by. Fair play to them, they're a worthy number one and clear favourites in this game and this comp.

My Dad, God bless him, was so negative about anything good that he wanted to happen. I truly believe this Irish team are not in that mindset, they’ve gone to France with belief, and I’m backing them 100%. I spotted JGP after he made his run down the wing he was under two scots defenders as the ball was played away, but I had a second take when he was on the other wing passing the ball for Sheehans try, amazing vision and energy.

Yes, I don't think Ireland will suffer at all from concerns about "this is a RWC QF!" ... that doesn't mean they will automatically win, but they won't lose because of this. they have achieved so many firsts under Farrell that I think that just isn't any kind of factor at all.

Oh dear. 8 1/4 finals and 8 losses. Ireland underestimated the AB's and I'm afraid got ahead of themselves. "It doesn't matter what you throw at Ireland, they can handle it" said Shane!! Beirne, Furlong, and VDF looked at 95%, something was missing. My feeling was that Ireland would choke again and they did. The Leinster contingent (at least 11 starters and usually 13 of Ireland) losing to La Rochelle and Munster at the back end of last season have been scared so it would seem. Gutted that France were knocked out, so AB v Boks final.
The more you talk about New Zealand’s aura…the more it enhances it. Wether it’s in a negative connotation or not. You never hear the All Blacks talking about their so called aura…and I’ve never heard a NZ supporter talking about “aura”.
This will be Irelands best and only chance of knocking out the ABs in World Cup cause it won’t come again when Razor takes over the ABs

Good luck .. very uneducated about who is in this NZ team.. who you going to shut down? We most likely have 3 of the best playmakers in NZ in the match… we shut down Sexton and Aki and the game is lost for Ireland. So many threats in this AB team and they have gone completely under the radar..

Ireland also know how Joe Schmidt "Thinks", how he sees things and what he does in given situations. Joe spent his whole life becoming this genius, but he shared it with Ireland, he can't just change that, It takes donkeys years for a coach to develop a style and policy. that's why young lads don't become coaches, I think Joe is advantage Ireland.
I like to think Joe Schmidt played a significant part in ABs handling of the Irish at world cup 2023.❤

The test for the Irish defence will be facing a multi faceted attack. The Scottish were terribly one dimensional pass and hit it up, and as good as the boks were, their attack is very one dimensional they just do it very effectively . France showed playing a deep kicking territory game is key to picking apart this attack because the room for error significantly decreases.
If Ireland take home the cup how much will Bill Sweeny offer for Farrell and his coaching team?

IRE have injuries…ABs don’t. Also IRE winning 18 consecutive tests would be major feat (and even if they do I can’t see them winning 20 consecutive)

Winning 18 is some feat, but winning 1 when you're number 1 and it's practically a home match, not so much.
Could easily go either way depending on which team clicks on the night, it's exciting, what world cups are all about.

When it was announced that they might not get to play their anthem due to the SA government not complying with the World Anti-Doping Code, I read some worried SA tweets about how the Irish might have a field day over it.

It would still be their greatest ever achievement (getting to a World cup Final), but unlikely, as their confidence will be building step by step to that Final if they get that far. I would rather be Ireland than France in a World Cup Final. The Pressure is all on France if that happens.
