A stock 240 is like finding a virgin in the playboy mansion.
I'm glad I found mine
Doing the same with my Evo IX. Mainly keeping it stock due to me not being a mechanic and not wanting to mess with my baby lol. Every 240 I've seen has some sort of mods (Where I live, there's only one and it's turbocharged) so it's refreshing to see a fully-stock one.
The Playboy mansion have already been sold, so that might actually be possible if the new owner have kids or grandkids or whatever. Of course, that won't happen until Hefner dies, because part of the deal was that he could stay there for the rest of his life.
jo23bulls there is a stock 240sx near me for 2000$ should I buy it?
yes!
Love these older car reviews. The late 80s/90s was a great period of engineering for fun driver's cars.
this car is 100% on my dream car list, i mean first, look at it, its amazing, and the customization i could do, and just everything about it i love, i really want one and hopefully i get my license next year
Alberto 9324 My daughter has hers bought in 1989 5 speed charcoal grey. It is for sale. If interested message Me.

All 240 owners know about the secret cupholder.
Hahah take out the coin tray?
shhh it's a secret.
Keep your mouth shut Alex Kean
Ryan Caron lol I know
Mr. Honda Mods or what u gonna do?
this is the first time I've seen this steering wheel and those seats in a 240...
@Poorly Reported what wheel do u remember?
BarakaBamba yea mines came with nismo seats
Really? I have that one
Those are the original steering wheel and seats.
The best part about older, slower, sporty cars is that you can actually drive the balls off them and not get in trouble with the law. It feels and sounds fun, but you're not doing 100 mph down the back roads.
Dave Smith i drive a slow car and got a speeding ticket on the freeway
B. Chan what?
14500 firm, no lowballs
So true! Craigslist be like...
usagentcyclone lolol "I know what I have"
This joke has aged to perfection.
A clean unmolested 240sx is always nice to see
I often wonder why nobody can just do a simple motor swap and leave it STOCK LOOKING for once.
07wrxtr1 Amen my brother, I've been looking for a clean s13 hatch that has been sr20de swapped thats clean, (because I have a raging hard on for 180sx lol )
Reality show idea: Find dumb people and pay them to return the car to stock cosmetically.

You described my car. Just wheels and kouki tail lights. Also the newer style shark nose bumper.
BRING BACK FLIP-UPS!
physics exist.
So, they still looked cool.
truue
and they added character when you made them wink lol

LOVE reviews like these! A few unique cars I'd love to see on your channel in the future would be Mitsu 3000gt, Mazda RX8, Toyota Celica GTS, & Lexus IS300 (all stick of course) Just to name a few!
Thanks! I'd love to review all of those as well! I just filmed an RX-8 review that will be going live in 2 weeks. The other cars I haven't been offered yet but hopefully some owners will eventually.
damn near all is300s were auto so dont get your hopes up
Best car reviewer in the world...every video is everything you want it to be. thanks matt!
Thank you, I'm glad to hear that!

😂😂😂
Depz 2REAL nah its pronounced "serbaderbex" fan
I miss mine. had a stock '90 drove it all through high-school it had over 300k on the clock when I sold her. thanks for the memories Matt!
This was my first car after graduating from college in 1990. Brings back memories! It was a great car, very toss-able and fun to drive. The exterior styling is dang near perfect in my opinion.
"completely stock except for all the upgrades"
Dam, spotted some cancerous rust behind the rear right wheel.
I'm a real fan of these older car reviews, I've got an 86 corvette and you actually reviewed one. Really appreciate your channel and your devotion and effort.
You know a car is slow when SubaruWrxFan doesn't give a reaction. ;)
Personally I love the late 80s Japanese gauges. Much clearer than a lot of what I see more recently. How's the steering feedback?
Pretty numb, no lie around town... completely livens up when you're pushing it.
I have one and the steering is very smooth and communicates very well what the front tires are doing.
Straight line stability is great, if the road is flat you could let go of the steering wheel and it'll keep tracking straight.
I had a nearly stock 90 as well. The stock shifter has a really smooth feeling, and the 140hp feels stronger then it really is, so much midrange on that motor, totally a fun car just like you describe. I remember seeing on Motorweek Retro review that they did non-turbo here to keep it in a lower insurance bracket compared to doing a stock SR20DET etc. At least it had a nice big torquey motor to make up for it.
That's the reason i got my 89 240sx. Insurance companies ripped you off big time back then.
A teenager with a clean driving record could expect to pay 6 thousand a year in todays dollars on a 4 cylinder turbocharged car.
great video! I'm so glad you finally got to review the 240sx. I really want to find a stock one for my first car.
You are the best reviewer that I've seen on RUclips, you should be working for Motor trend magazine.
Planning on having this be my first car
It's a great first car
same
Tunerdise same g
Did you get it?
Same
That engine, and the engine bay IS CLEANN
wow ive never seen a 240sx in that good of condition. Usually i would see one with different color parts on lol
My 2nd car. Rear wheel wasn't fun in the winter, but with weight in the back it managed. Handled really well. Always fun to kick the tail out.
Very Rare indeed to see a basically stock 240. Great Review!
Headlights go up... Headlights go down
I enjoy Matts enthusiasm and variety of cars old and new!
I have a 1000% stock 240 vert NO rust love it to death , Great video
The only thing I need to see to understands if a car is good in a review is the smile the reviewer makes when he drives the car.
Love these type of reviews awesome job 🔰
I just sent my 1990 240sx stock car to the shop today to get her back on the road it’s been a long time waiting but finally going to happen 😁
I want one so bad for a first car.
Big_fred no, never get a Honda, just wait for the correct 240
My 93 hatch with the KA (with I'm guessing the same exhaust as the one in the video) is still probably my favorite car I've ever owned, and I've owned an FRS, mustang, fd rx7,mazdaspeed3, etc. It's so easy to jump into and smile, the steering is perfect, the shifter is perfect, and creature comforts like adjustable vents at the 9 and 3 positions behind the steering wheel, low slung dash, sunroof, and a usable hatch space are combos you won't find in any other vehicle.
Also, ignore the "3 seasons" comment, I could plow snow up over the hood in mine with basic all-season tires.
The only thing better than a 'stock' 240, is an RB-swapped 240.
That exhaust drone is mental. Couldn't imagine how loud that fucker is on the highway.
Actually if you're just cruising on the highway from 70-80 mph and it sits around 2500-2750rpm you can barely hear it. One of my favorite things about the exhaust is it can actually be quiet at certain rpms and speeds if you want it to be.
it's about time lol. I have a 93 with 103k miles and a blacktop sr swap that's been in the car since 05. One of the cleanest I've ever seen so I couldn't pass up buying it. Everything was done properly and tastefully. It looks completely stock but it turns heads everywhere I go. Mine is a se so it has a vlsd. Also has 300zx brakes, 180sx seats, the cleanest interior I've ever seen with an uncracked dash. Just all around beautiful. I love the car to death. I drive it more than my 2013 silverado and almost as much as my Harley.
Id also like to say you have given me the auto bug. Every Tuesday I go to RUclips to see what car you reviewed. And the things you talkabout are the things that really matter and it makes me feel like im in the passenger seat with how you describe the actual day to day aspects not just talk about stats and whatnot keep them coming
Thank you! I'm glad you like them! I always try to talk about everything that someone shopping for one would like to know.
After 8 years of my moms 240sx sitting we finally got to restore and I'm so happy cause I've loved this car since I was little riding in it. It's funny cause my story is similar. The 240sx is my moms 2nd car though.
Now this is a awesome sounding Japanese car..... I like the muffs on this one....
His exhaust sounds good. I have a polished stainless steel magnaflow muffler on my 240 and the sound is deeper and more mellow sounding. It sounds awesome as well.
Bought a silver one new in 89, nice looking and the ergonomics and handling were fantastic. if it had had any power to speak of it would have been an amazing car, but it was good!.
I bought a stock s13 hatch! *blown motor/ automatic. Nothing a good rebuild and 5speed swap can do :)
ilovekeeshonds how's it going?
We've gotta know!
so glad u did this man!!!! thanks dude
never thought the day would come, thank you
You sound like Michael Cera
I went on RUclips to search up a 240, and whatdayaknow, this was on my feed lol.
Thanks for sharing!
Love these old everyday driver 240sx review's
Great trip down memory lane. I had a 1990 240SX Fastback for 11 years. I might still own it today if I didn't start driving to Vermont to ski. Like Matt says, it is useless in the snow.
I bought a 1990 and then I bought two 1993 240SX SE's it had a 16 valve 155hp engine. The only difference in a 90 from a 89 is the 90 had a Power Radio antenna. The last one I bought was the Super Hicas version and it was the last 1993 sold in North Carolina. I was in a bidding war with a guy from Charlotte and Wilmington NC. But they had to sell it to me because I was at the dealership it was at. The 93 Convertibles that hadn't sold were later titled as 1994 models.
I had a 92 coupe that was 100% all original as my first car. Loved the thing. So fun to drive ! Sadly I took it to a shop in SoCal called 9K Racing and they totally hacked it up to the point that I had to scrap the car. For all you youngsters out there, just buy a 240sx that is already modified close to what you're looking for and if you have a clean stock one. Keep it that way lol
That's my car!
holy crap they're similar
holy crap no cracked dash!!!!
87golfito hahah ikr my s13 dash is cracked to hell
This exact car was my first car. I come back to this video as a nice throwback to it bc I miss her. I wrecked it of course
Those ka's are awesome
Damn that sx is pretty mint
Christianspiller you've been watching too much haggard garage
Yeah. I miss the good old Haggard
Great job Matt, another good video.
You could sell me a car with these videos. You got me wanting the mostly analog 1992 gt badly and now this. Keep up the great work!
Yes maybe functional boring dash but good quality and better than these hard plastic things today. Of course the new materials are better these days but I find the old Nissan dashs of the 90s look better, look more "expensive". They´re not expensive but look more like that like most plastics today.
Hey Matt you should try to review a CRX. I just bought one to get my self into enthusiast type cars while I save up money to buy something really nice. Id love to hear your thoughts on the Honda Classic.
I'd love to review a CRX. Hopefully someone offers one locally someday.
dream project right here
I've no doubts this car is actually more fun to drive than a modern VW Jetta just to make an exmpl.
From the year of my birth and one of my fave retro cars.
It is remarkable how you crane your neck to the right in the same manner in all these videos.
Let's count how many times he says "Here"!😂 Love your videos brother.
awesome car, cant belive that its stock ,that its a good thing
I want a 240sx so bad there awsome cant wait to buy won
Love the positive reviews
My buddy he has a white 1991 Nissan 240SX as his trick and race car. This year he put in a LS3 V8 engine in the car.
This car was interesting. The Nissan 300 zx was really pricey for the day. Nissan wanted a less expensive car to sell to the masses that would appeal to those who always wanted 240z or 280z. This car, never got the same kind of love that the early z cars got.
Once again, Great Review, love it when you review these older cars. I myself am waiting to get my first car, and you've definately made this a contender. I know you have a RX-8 review coming up, any chance there is a RX-7 one as well??? :P keep making great content!!
Thank you! No RX-7 yet, no one has offered one. Hopefully someone will eventually!
Great reviews keep them up The undisputed king in the drifting world the S13 all or most pros start with this chassis.
Would love to see you find a B13 SE-R (1991-1994 Sentra SE-R). Basically an unassuming little 2200lb box car with low door sills, an LSD, and a SR20 with 7500 revs to play with. I've owned and driven many Nissans from the 90's through current- and that little car takes the cake for smiles per gallon. A rapid, eager, fun little sun'va bitch.
Taylor Ashworth agreed. hope he keeps doing more retro reviews
That was a great car and that excellent engine also served in the Infiniti G20.
YES
dayummm...my fav car!!!
Review a 300zx
yes!!!!!
make sure it is a Twin Turbo Model!
Love my 300zx Twin turbo!
Yes! hopefully both na and tt
do a 300zx doesn't really matter what model to me.
Looks awesome! Love the review!
have you ever been pulled over for test driving a car when you smash the gas pedal?
No, thankfully.
My dream car
I thought that car looked familiar. I met this dude awhile back at a car meet. We had the only 240's there.
which meet?
It was last year at the one ThatDudeinBlue and some other youtubers had.
Oh yeah! You had the red one!
I miss my 240 😭
Binh Minh Le what happened to it?
Binh Minh Le me too! I had a 1990 240sx coupe it was a turbo! Man do I miss it! It was bone stock! I took it up to 115 mph and I remember I couldn't go faster lol
Only 120k views.. I feel like I'm getting old.. this is one of my all time favorites..
5 years later and I basically have a stock 240 all the mods are just quick release steering wheel and a new suspension but as far as the mods I have that’s it
Do the The Integra Type R !!!
One of the few good intro music songs. I like the winking lights! It would be lighter without the passenger. :)
I was taught how to drive manual in my Uncles 240sx. All stock and has about 160K miles. I said to him if you gonna sell it ill buy it from you
I thought you were bringing back the old intro last video damnit ):
It's for the non-enthusiast car reviews only.
i wanna be sad that enthusiast car reviews will never have the best intro again but now im just stoked my favorite youtuber replied to me holy shit !!!!!
Nice video, and interesting how these seat belts are designed that way. And BTW, when the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport comes to Tom Henry Chevrolet, you should review it sometime, because I want to see you react even more to its acceleration, but this one in the 240SX is still awesome. 🙂
Great video as always! I'd love to see a review of a Porsche 924 or 944.
My friend has a '93 240 vert with an SR20, it's so damn fun and a drift machine!
7:10 POV: When you drove your first car in need for speed after finishing the whole game
I love pop up headlights,I don't care what anyone says, most ppl Ik always knock on those kind of headlights,I always liked them
Matt, this car is slightly modified, not stock anymore. That said, cool car to review!
Ah yes, back in the 80's and early 90's when coupes ruled the roads
review a 03 04 cobra already! :(
I'd love to! Unfortunately no one has offered one yet.
I learned to drive manual in my 240! To be honest I thought it was harder than a lot of other manual cars I've driven, so it was a good car to learn on to transition to others.
thought this was that dude in blue. I thought holy shit his build is done
His car is bright blue and does not look or perform stock like this one. Did you not see the car in the thumbnail or what?
no picture. I just seen a title in my email folder. I didn't even see from who. just focused on 240 sx
Ugh. This video made me so so sad. I sold my 89 240SX years ago for $1800CAD. It needed a ton of mechanical work, but I wish I'd just archived the thing so I eventually work on it. I honestly still have dreams about driving mine. I kept it all-stock except for the stereo. The handling was incredible. Maybe I'll have to buy one eventually. But then... I may as well buy something "nicer", though sentimental value can eclipse logic. Thanks for the video, I actually really enjoyed it and will no doubt have a bunch more dreams of my old car. PS - I hate that muffler, lol.
It would be the greatest thing ever if you would review a 4th gen Firebird or Trans Am!
I bought a 1989 240sx for $900.
It's a 5-speed manual w/ stock parts.
She has 100,000 miles.
