Seeing some of these s13s makes me feel MUCH better about my pos beater. Mine is stock, 2 tone and looks 34 years old, owned since 2007. But its complete and unmodified. I was too poor to catch the modifying bug.... now I just like it as is.
I got a stock one too with the factory color lol imo s13s look amazing without body kits especially with the chuki bumper

Owning a big truck is more about towing capacity, you guys should have looked at the 1999-2007 gmc body styles and then the 2007-2016 they basically had no size difference between the 1500,2500,3500 which is what you need for towing, a bigger truck. I agree trucks have gotten to crazy but it is practical to a certain degree just depends on the person.

The 240SX used to be my dream car when I was younger. Yeah, I know I know, corny as hell. But it was mostly due to two things: It being the starter car in Prostreet and Undercover, and the fact my dad owned one. A '92 S13 Pignose in Red. I loved that car probably just as much, if not more, than he did. We used to go to all the meets we could together in it, which helped ignite my love and passion of cars in general, and a thing for good ol' american muscle, whilst still loving the european and japanese sports cars and econoboxes. There wasn't a day that I wasn't sitting in that 240 with him and my mom. Never went abobe the speed limit with us in it either or do any dumb shit in public like burnouts.
Unfortunately, he had to sell it when we moved to another country, but In my teens I was hopeful to get one as my first car because at that time (2017-2019) they were still going for around 5000-6000 euros for a good condition example. Then Covid hit, TikTok and cloutchasers took over the car community and the prices skyrocketed. You'd be lucky to find a decent example under 15k nowadays in europe. Most have been converted for drift or circuit racing, with the others rotting away in backyards and junkyards or sitting in a garage in pristine conditiom, never to be touched or drivem ever again.
Oh well, I guess. I got over it a while ago, I just hope I can muster up enough money to buy my dad back that Pignose in the exact same colour and spec so that he can relive it once again, seeing as he was real torn up about having to sell it. He really loved it and took care of it like he took care of his family. Maybe one day he'll look peek outside the front window and see that Pignose of his staring back at him.
It always amazes me how little effort people put into listing a vehicle. Background and decent pictures go along way with a buyer.
I paid 4 grand for a one owner 1991 d21 with 80,000 miles. In another 4 tuning the engine and suspension. Nearly finished, and I can haul stuff with it. I used to own a 260z but needed something useful.

@@loganthompson3398 what year is it? if it looks that good it probably is a good car, the more factory parts on the car the better and check the frame rails up front for rust and the rear quarters if it's a factory sunroof car the drains can get undone sometimes

@@miatalife94 1990 hatch, it looks almost all factory besides the wing (though it’s the kouki wing which I planned on snagging anyway). The guy sent me pics of the frame rails and all, very up front about anything wrong with the car though few and far between
in europe a half decent s- chassie is atleast 20k upwards. a rotted, crashed shell without a drivetrain in it is actually up for sale right now for 5k and thats euro

Another automotive trend I hate is how angular Veilside C1-looking bumpers have made a comeback. The people who are most guilty of this are the car manufacturers themselves. The 86 is really the spiritual successor to the S13, even if it larps as an AE86 successor.

I know we always make fun of these cars but you have to give credit to the market. The ridiculous prices aren't purely because owners "know what the got". People actually buy these things. Now to some ppl these cars are not worth more than $1500 but others, well apparently buy them at 10k+. Value in the eye of the beholder. A stock kouki just sold on bat for 30k. What the cars are actually worth and what ppl are willing to pay are very different.
The point we are trying to drive home is that compare the ones selling for big numbers, and ask yourself "why is that car selling/sold for that?"
Then look at the garbage on fb, and ask yourself, "How much time and money would it take to get this car to that level?" You lose money in 99% of fb marketplace "deals".

Its the former option that most cloutchasers/posers choose the most but end up giving up about 10% into the restoration project and just try to sell the shell for cheap. This allows the cycle to either continue on with another tiktok fake enthusiast buying it and doing the same thing all over again, or let the cycle break via someone buying the shell for parts or restoring it fully for himself.
