It really is depressing for someone that really wants one, like me. The 240SX used to be my dream car when I was younger. Yeah, I know I know, corny as hell. But it was mostly due to two things: It being the starter car in Prostreet and Undercover, and the fact my dad owned one. A '92 S13 Pignose in Red. I loved that car probably just as much, if not more, than he did. We used to go to all the meets we could together in it, which helped ignite my love and passion of cars in general, and a thing for good ol' american muscle, whilst still loving the european and japanese sports cars and econoboxes. There wasn't a day that I wasn't sitting in that 240 with him and my mom. Never went abobe the speed limit with us in it either or do any dumb shit in public like burnouts. Unfortunately, he had to sell it when we moved to another country, but In my teens I was hopeful to get one as my first car because at that time (2017-2019) they were still going for around 5000-6000 euros for a good condition example. Then Covid hit, TikTok and cloutchasers took over the car community and the prices skyrocketed. You'd be lucky to find a decent example under 15k nowadays in europe. Most have been converted for drift or circuit racing, with the others rotting away in backyards and junkyards or sitting in a garage in pristine conditiom, never to be touched or drivem ever again. Oh well, I guess. I got over it a while ago, I just hope I can muster up enough money to buy my dad back that Pignose in the exact same colour and spec so that he can relive it once again, seeing as he was real torn up about having to sell it. He really loved it and took care of it like he took care of his family. Maybe one day he'll look peek outside the front window and see that Pignose of his staring back at him.
Yo, I’m looking at buying a 240sx hatch this weekend. It’s been sitting under a tree in the grass for 10 years, what’s the max I should pay, cylinder #4 is gone and the body has some rust.
in europe a half decent s- chassie is atleast 20k upwards. a rotted, crashed shell without a drivetrain in it is actually up for sale right now for 5k and thats euro
I wish buyers didn't even entertain posts that look like these but geez. "Yeah it looks like crap, it has 250,000 miles, but you know you want it, $10,000"
So glad I found my 89 Fastback with a running Sr20det, with standalone ecu and nothing else destroyed or touched interior in perfect condition for $3500 people are out of their minds these days!!
I paid 4 grand for a one owner 1991 d21 with 80,000 miles. In another 4 tuning the engine and suspension. Nearly finished, and I can haul stuff with it. I used to own a 260z but needed something useful.
I wanted to buy a project car. after much research settled on 2006 cop car crown vic. body on frame. still millions of units rotting in fields and garages. Ford still makes all the parts. I'm currently putting a gen 1 sbc early 7004r in it about 400 hp 450 torques.
Another automotive trend I hate is how angular Veilside C1-looking bumpers have made a comeback. The people who are most guilty of this are the car manufacturers themselves. Like, look at the front bumper on the C7 ZR1. Sh!t is heinous. First thing I'd do if I owned one would be swapping out that ugly front bumper for a Z06 one.
Unrelated: but if yall were in college rn, what cars would you get. I'm trying to decide between a wrx for daily/rallycross or a new edge stang for track+daily
I wouldn't get a Honda Fit unless you want to die instantly in any minor car collision. Just spent $3,000-$4,000 on any old Toyota/Lexus from the 2000s.
Naw bro the EVO 10 started the huge grill fad, along with the R35. I agree that it’s a tragedy though and car companies are dumb for thinking we wanted R35s for their style, that’s so not it
You have to understand that trucks are like that because of emissions, safety standards, and chicken tax. They have to be big to fit all the useless sensors and electronics.
I know we always make fun of these cars but you have to give credit to the market. The ridiculous prices aren't purely because owners "know what the got". People actually buy these things. Now to some ppl these cars are not worth more than $1500 but others, well apparently buy them at 10k+. Value in the eye of the beholder. A stock kouki just sold on bat for 30k. What the cars are actually worth and what ppl are willing to pay are very different.
The point we are trying to drive home is that compare the ones selling for big numbers, and ask yourself "why is that car selling/sold for that?" Then look at the garbage on fb, and ask yourself, "How much time and money would it take to get this car to that level?" You lose money in 99% of fb marketplace "deals".
@@carfriendsimulator9981Exactly. Either buy a shit one for 8k and rebuild it for 20k, or buy a very good condition one for 15-25k no questions asked.
