Finally a 240 that doesn't have -15 Camber and a two foot offset with about a micron of clearance. Amazing review and this is my first time seeing a fully stock 240 with matching paint on top!
I love how you're keeping it stock. Seeing this makes me believe I'm not the only one who appreciates the initial engineering of cars from the factory like my Supra. +1 Sub :)
as a 240sx owner in Canada since 1997 I must say this is a good review. Driving these things before the drift culture came into action was actually not that exciting. but it was faster than a lot of cars at its time and way more fun!
man, this is so neat to see. i miss my 1990 hatch. It was my first car back in high school and i still have it now at the age of 34. it made it to 267,000 miles before the rings were finally giving in, and i drove that thing hard. its sitting in my shop without an engine now awaiting a chance to receive some tlc.
Unrao sandhu that was the plan. i was saving up for a front clip, and then life had other plans. A wife and kid and all that comes with it kind of put the 240 on the back burner. but its cool now because my son is seven and he's ready to get it going with me. he's already called dibs on it
you seem like such a good and warm hearted person, I really think you genuinly deserve to own this car, because I'm sure you'll treat it the best you can. cheers
I'm ecstatic that you're doing this video series. The 240 was one of my favorite cars as a teenager and I always wanted to own one, but never got to. Who knows, this may inspire me to take on a similar project myself, although I'm sure it won't be cheap! Anyway, thanks for sharing this entire process with the viewers, it's more special than you know!
That car's pretty mint, man. You're lucky to find a stock 240sx that hardly has any sort of weird thing to happen to it. Take care of it well. This is a real good find.
cant wait to see what you do with this car, i also own a family owned 240sx SE bought by my uncle in 1989 from the factory! Now i have it and is restoring her, i will hold on to her as long as i can cause i dont have the heart to sell her
True but the Condition of the car is okay. Frontbumper needs replacement, exhaust too and the Paint needs detailing. There are more battered things that i would replace like the steering-wheel. He has to do a lot to make this car shine again.
Go home drift bros. This 240 will not be losing its purity factory v-card to a long offset *DICK* going *BALLS DEEP!* Is what Saabkyle would say if him and Mr. Regular swapped personalities.
Saabkyle04 I have a Nissan 240sx in need for speed undercover and shift, pro street, forza, underground 1 and 2, shift 2 unleashed, in pro street this was Ryan cooper's.
Great to see your video. This was my first car! I had a 1989 fastback that was also manual in a beautiful midnight blue. It also had a pop-up sun roof. I had to replace the engine as the timing chain wore a hole and water got into the engine. I'd probably still have it but I moved to Canada and couldn't import it in due to the seat belts, which can't be modified, of course. I ❤️ loved that car!
You know what? Leave it stock and, if needed, find some OEM original parts for this car!! It's a Unicorn amongst all these tuned S13s!!! Let this baby shine in its own true identity!!!
Man, that thing is so nice! It makes me want one! lol Glad you decided on the resto-mod. Can't wait to see how it turns out! Just thought of something else. I've never asked for a review before, but if you ever run across an '02-'06 Hyundai Elantra hatchback, it would be AWESOME to see it reviewed. I've had 2 of them and they are great small cars and are very unique in the class, IMO. I've had people compliment me thinking it was a BMW or a Saab, which was very cool. lol
I'm jealous you found a stock 240 in near perfect condition. Nissan makes incredible cars even to this day. I have an 2008 Altima with 150k miles and it still drives like new. I've had no major issues with it, just maintenance costs.
SalmonBelly Even the new models? I think you're right because my friends 2009 V6 Altima didn't last long. But then again, he didn't take much care of it. Oh well, 4 cylinder engines are good enough for me.
I like it how the motor of the car the Ka24 I think and it's stock now that's a rear find. plus the front end conversion your talking about is called a Sileighty because it has a 240Sx Silvia S13 front end with a 180Sx Rear end
as old school all manual combustion american muscle car ethysiast/driver im not fan of JDM but for some reason i really love 1989 Nissan 240SX SE the way it looks its amazing i love interior and engine aint sooo bad and its left steeering wheel finally !
Congratulations, you have found the LAST unmolested 240SX in existence. I feel like it belongs in a museum. These things are torn up worse than Mustangs when racers get hold of them.
Seen 1990 240 here in Maryland just outside of Baltimore that was for sale for $900 but unfortunately I was only 19 y/o trying to scramble money around and was a year too late. Now that I see this I can't help but kick myself for taking-up on that offer.
Damn love those cars so much my parents own a blue one and manual I hope one day to get one or to trade my truck for it they rare but good video I may subscribe just because you own this car and watch all the videos about it!
I hope you didn't do too much to this car. To me the just the exhaust and paint job need work. It seems you got a great deal on it. I owned a '90 240SX when it was brand new, Cherry Red and I thought I got the sport option on it but after watching your video I think I got the base model with a sunroof. I agree about its competitors, the Eclipse and Probe, and I think you can put the Mazda RX7 into that mix as well. I thought the balance between the front and back was closer to 50/50 but that's minor. You might mention that the reason Nissan originally put only a 140 hp engine in it was to avoid having the car classified as a sports car by the insurance companies, which I think the larger engine in '92 did. Because of its low weight and the smaller engine my insurance rated it as a sub-compact so I saved a lot on insurance. You rated it as slow but fun. I knew mine wasn't as fast over a long stretch as a Vete, Porsche or Trans Am, but even with an automatic it was quick off the line and highly maneuverable. I always thought of it as "quick" and it was comfortable to drive on long trips, just as long as it wasn't snowing, which presented the car with a whole new set of problems. Good luck with it and I hope you enjoy it.
I cannot believe the dash is un cracked and everything is in tact and together. That is amazing. No damages at all.
That was the first thing I did when detailing it recently, condition it! I want to keep it that way :)
Saabkyle04 Can you please try to add more pickup and trucks to your reviews
how tall are you?
that chime is soo....satisfying omg
Toastoftheundead it from a mercury villager
Andrew Rodriguez it's also from the Toyota AE86 when you would go over 100KMH the chime would engage letting your know you were going that fast
Toastoftheundead Nope classic 80s nissan.
Andrew Rodriguez It's actually a Nissan part, The villager, Is nothing but a rebadged quest.
Badass Turtle its also in the Subaru BRAT mini truck
A completly stock 240sx with all the options.. that's almost too nice to modify.

I own a 240, and you informed me about some things that I didn't even know
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching!
man, this is so neat to see. i miss my 1990 hatch. It was my first car back in high school and i still have it now at the age of 34. it made it to 267,000 miles before the rings were finally giving in, and i drove that thing hard. its sitting in my shop without an engine now awaiting a chance to receive some tlc.
SR20 swap that bad boy
Unrao sandhu that was the plan. i was saving up for a front clip, and then life had other plans. A wife and kid and all that comes with it kind of put the 240 on the back burner. but its cool now because my son is seven and he's ready to get it going with me. he's already called dibs on it
Make sure it stays stock.
I had an 89 240sx fastback. It was my first car. Love these cars. You have one of the cleanest all original s13 I've seen in years.
you seem like such a good and warm hearted person, I really think you genuinly deserve to own this car, because I'm sure you'll treat it the best you can. cheers
This makes me miss my two tone green 89 xe coupe so much. Keep it clean and never let go of it Kyle!
S13 Silvias are so rare. Thanks for reviewing one.
I'm ecstatic that you're doing this video series. The 240 was one of my favorite cars as a teenager and I always wanted to own one, but never got to. This was my first car and I loved it! Fastback, same colour and same paint wear on the front splitter. Thanks for the trip down memory lane
i love this old skool motorweek style review. really informative and simple. great job
Store it in your garage and sell it in 20 years.
huh, an unmodded 240sx isn't the most common thing in the world
ZRFTECH Very rare lol
still rarer than a Lamborghini centanario
3 years later .... It very much is
Allow me to introduce my self 😌
That car's pretty mint, man. You're lucky to find a stock 240sx that hardly has any sort of weird thing to happen to it. Take care of it well. This is a real good find.
This is a great walkthrough, as I get older this is a car I would consider looking for
cant wait to see what you do with this car, i also own a family owned 240sx SE bought by my uncle in 1989 from the factory! Now i have it and is restoring her, i will hold on to her as long as i can cause i dont have the heart to sell her
I love that Kyle is showing off his JDM love, I'm loving this series. It would be amazing if he did a Supra or a Evolution 9.
un cracked dash, all the body panels are the same color, that's not a 240, lol.
Yeah, it's witch. We should burn it haha
CreepinWhileYouSleepin obviously someone who has owned a 240 before lmao
True but the Condition of the car is okay. Frontbumper needs replacement, exhaust too and the Paint needs detailing. There are more battered things that i would replace like the steering-wheel. He has to do a lot to make this car shine again.
2011Transformersdotm front bumper looks perfect, the front lip however, could use some love.
Needs hydraulic suspension kit
Feeling nostalgic. The 240SX (or 200SX in Europe) was my first car i bought in 2003. Loved it.
Did you take it from museum or something? Stock 240s are kinda rare nowadays
Go home drift bros. This 240 will not be losing its purity factory v-card to a long offset *DICK* going *BALLS DEEP!*
Is what Saabkyle would say if him and Mr. Regular swapped personalities.
krocialblack brown brown brown
LMFAO!
"S13 The reason your sisters going to planned parenthood." Regular Car reviews S13 episode.

Hahahaha XD
Saabkyle04 I have a Nissan 240sx in need for speed undercover and shift, pro street, forza, underground 1 and 2, shift 2 unleashed, in pro street this was Ryan cooper's.
did you sell it yet? or was this just a joke?
Congrats on getting 1 million subscribers Kyle. Your channel is one of my favorite car channels on RUclips. Have a Happy New Year buddy!!
Thank you my friend, same to you!!
I like how you stay humble.
Great to see your video. This was my first car! I had a 1989 fastback that was also manual in a beautiful midnight blue. It also had a pop-up sun roof.
I had to replace the engine as the timing chain wore a hole and water got into the engine.

the best youtuber of all time, cheers from north africa. happy new year kyle's fans
You know what? Leave it stock and, if needed, find some OEM original parts for this car!! It's a Unicorn amongst all these tuned S13s!!! Let this baby shine in its own true identity!!!
It's a nice fun looking car. Makes a good first car for somebody.
This series is becoming my crack haha... taking me back to when I first bought mine. Cant wait to see what you have in store for it!
It's going to be amazing! :)
I really don't like how there are so many driver assistance features on today's cars! I like having complete control of my car!
congratulations on getting 1 million subscribers Kyle u deserve it man and nice 240sx where can I find one in your area?
You're making me miss my 91'. I found mine single owner like yours with 101k on the clock. Great find. Keep her classy!
+Saabkyle04 I'm glad that you posted the 1989 Nissan 240SX Fastback it's got good miles too :)
Dean Morara yeah, who doesn't like Silvias?
I do
Please give us more videos about older cars - i feel thats more interesting for a lot of users. :)
Thanks for the video, kyle!
great project car! looking forward to seeing where you take it in terms of modifications.
Your 240SX is a great little fastback.
My best friend had this car when we were both college kids, oh the memories ! :D
I have a stock 92. Interior is perfect.
I've been waiting for this review Kyle! Thanks for making it! Nice review! I love the chime on the car.
COOL 1989 Nissan 240SX SE Fastback: Road Test & In Depth Review
Is it just me or is Kyle one of the nicest people on RUclips?
The Sileighty came from factory with the silvia front end, because that styling was famous so nissan made a few units like that
Happy New Years From TEXAS have a safe and Good Next Year
There's a Kijiji ad for a Nissan 240SX SE Hatchback in red for $6,000. It looks completely stock with a full interior and all the body panels match!
I've had people compliment me thinking it was a BMW or a Saab, which was very cool. lol
I love that Jay Leno quote about driving slow cars fast :)
Cleanest stock 240 I have seen in a long ass time.
That seatbelt feature is really cool
This is my dream car
I'm jealous you found a stock 240 in near perfect condition. Nissan makes incredible cars even to this day. I have an 2008 Altima with 150k miles and it still drives like new. I've had no major issues with it, just maintenance costs.
Archibald VonFookFace 4 cylinder nissans are great but I have seen a lot of problems with v6 Nissan engines
SalmonBelly Even the new models? I think you're right because my friends 2009 V6 Altima didn't last long. But then again, he didn't take much care of it. Oh well, 4 cylinder engines are good enough for me.
SalmonBelly my friends G37 just got a new engine put in it after only 65k miles and he took good care of it and did all maintenance.
awesome vid i love how the key has 240sk on it
back win cars were built to last
Robert McBride you obviously never owned a 240 lol "built to last" this one is just lucky enough to have not been driven all that much lol
yep i do not have a 240 i have a 2000 chevy s10 with a 350 in it
Been waiting for this video for a long time! Awesome Kyle
This would be such a top flight daily driver.
congratz on 1 mil subs man
Sweet review, can't wait to finish mine.
A subtle performance exhaust , some nice wheels and some coilovers and it'd be perfect
Magnaflow stainless steel muffler sounds best on this car.
Very lucky find. one in such good shape and low mileage is almost one of a kind
That auto-seatbelt just screams retro-future-ristic coolness.
Lol the tape on the hatch is so relatable 😂
Love 240sx, keep up the excellent work!!!!!
Wow an original 240 good job man!!!!!
Great video Kyle I injoyed every second
I like it how the motor of the car the Ka24 I think and it's stock now that's a rear find.
plus the front end conversion your talking about is called a Sileighty because it has a 240Sx Silvia S13 front end with a 180Sx Rear end
You make driving stick look so easy
The fact that there is no Eurobeat playing in the background disappoints me. :(
The gentleman who administered my drivers test sounds exactly like you
With a car this Rare like that, I'll try taking this to Los Santos Customs and it'll tell me, "Too hot yo modify"
Rocky 2k lmao
as old school all manual combustion american muscle car ethysiast/driver im not fan of JDM but for some reason i really love 1989 Nissan 240SX SE the way it looks its amazing i love interior and engine aint sooo bad and its left steeering wheel finally !
As always, great job Kyle)
Remember the pit crew guy on taledega nights? The one they pretended was dead?? This guy is him in real life lol
I love the channel. Happy New Year!
Amazing car in an amazing shape! Nice!
VERY NICE AND BEAUTIFULL CAR DUDE !!!!!!!!!!!Please let me drive that sx.....
been waiting for this review
a 240sx is an interesting choice to restore tbh
THIS BELONGS IN A MUSEUM! - Indiana Jones
Very nice.
Well there was a Sileighty. Which had Silvia front in Japan. ;)
Nice looking car back in the days!
This kind of reminds me of a Motorweek video or a manufacturer tour video. I like it though
Congratulations, you have found the LAST unmolested 240SX in existence. I feel like it belongs in a museum.
These things are torn up worse than Mustangs when racers get hold of them.
In puerto rico all of them are rusted out or wrecked
happy New Year Kyle
That is a nice interior considering the age and thrashy looking ones in modern cars.
I miss mine. I've never seen another one with the HUD
I haven't either, probably was quite an expensive option!
Saabkyle04 mine was a 89 2 door coupe with hud. Very fun car, I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoyed mine.
Seen 1990 240 here in Maryland just outside of Baltimore that was for sale for $900 but unfortunately I was only 19 y/o trying to scramble money around and was a year too late. Now that I see this I can't help but kick myself for taking-up on that offer.
Tyler Cochran ive seen good condition 240's around that price that just needed small engine work
***** True, but you'll never know.
just make an offer on SaabKyle's Z already🌌
I hit a pothole and lost my third gear I believe it's the over drive its a automatic as well as a/c heater and all gauges on dash any help please
1:03 now that brings some memories.
I want one of these bad boys so bad, god they're so pretty. I just wanna buy one and restore it and keep it in good shape forever 🩷
I love driving this car in Need For Speed Underground 2!!!
Love to see you do a video with scotty kilmer.
Blackdragon79 scotty kilmer is the most annoying fucker on youtube lmao
Austin Chase I have no problem. Very informative and straightforward.
He's so bad stereotypical mechanic that thinks you need to drive a 20 year old Camry because Japan was the only country to make a reliable.
Blackdragon79 ya his videos have helped me a lot
That clutch dump tho lol
Damn love those cars so much my parents own a blue one and manual I hope one day to get one or to trade my truck for it they rare but good video I may subscribe just because you own this car and watch all the videos about it!
Great video
New motor and transmission mounts are your list I hope. That engine shake though.
I hope you didn't do too much to this car. To me the just the exhaust and paint job need work. It seems you got a great deal on it. I owned a '90 240SX when it was brand new, Cherry Red and I thought I got the sport option on it but after watching your video I think I got the base model with a sunroof. When are you going to replace the battered Parts of the car( bumper, exhaust etc )? What about the paint? Will you Detail it?
just wondering do you put the saabkyle04 key chain on all of your cars?
This was my second car!!!:)
