Awesome video Kyle, and thanks for the shoutout! Also neat to actually see the stiffness difference - if you watch the video at 0:10 seconds, you can see how the softer suspension keeps the sprung weight relatively at an even level, not much bouncing around; then moving to 12:58 after they've been installed, you can see how much more body movement you and Chris have, as you obviously need stiffer springs to compensate for lowering the ride. Great video, awesome project!
Garrett Box it's pretty much rear steering, on the back of the rear subframe it has a steering rack that would turn the rear wheels a few degrees for better handling, but nowadays they usually don't work anymore and just take up space and are useless
Just awesome! Loving this kind of videos when restoring beautiful old car like this 240sx with new parts. Also the attention to details like focused videoing to the parts and explaining everything carefully, that's what makes your videos interesting and awesome to watch. Everything good for you Kyle with the project, keep it up!
I remember watching your channel way back when you were juuust starting out. I loved it then, love it now. It's amazing to see the opportunities you've had and the progress you've made. Thanks for the entertainment and keep on rockin'!
Thank you so much for all of the support over the years! It's amazing seeing the progress this channel has had :) Looking forward to what's next! Have a great day!
wow I am impressed with the explanation of the toe settings and that it eats the inside of the tire much faster! I have this problem on my car and all the garages (that I tried) are blaming the camber! anyways thanks for the video
Sweet car and I like following the project. I have a 370z as a second fun car. I have been considering getting another car for fun and this seems like a cool and low cost way to go while also keeping it in the Nissan family.
Thank you! That's what I'm leaning toward, but I have to take into consideration offset and camber as I don't want a lot of negative camber. Still trying to figure that out. It's amazing how hard it's been to just figure out something as seemingly simple as wheels XD
Hey Kyle could you review the Porsche macan GTS? Also I was wondering at the end of your reviews you should give your own opinion about the car for example saying if it is worth buying or something like that! Not trying to change your style of reviews but just wondered if that would just be the cherry on top of the cake
1:20 with the 240SX in background and your leather jacket you're looking like straight from the 90's (kind meaning) your car is in a realy good condition! less rust, pls be kind to this one!
That's nuts that they were broken! I'll dig into that a bit more. They looked fine upon inspection, but it certainly wouldn't hurt. I also need to replace all of the suspension bushings. Thanks a lot!
Hey Kyle, first of all I love your build. It's exactly the kind of thing that people should be doing when starting on a 240sx project. Last year I, too, installed a set of BC BR coilovers and ISR suspension arms on my 240sx hatch and tried a TON of different dampening settings. The car became very bumpy and uncomfortable no matter what I did. Are you experiencing a similar issue with that setup, or is it smooth sailing so far? Everything was torque to spec. Maybe I received a bad batch?
if you want to get rid of that wind noise, go to home depot and get a rubber door wedge. cut it down a little and shove it in there. problem temporarily solved and cheap!
Well, good thing you own other cars...other wise, if you daily this, your back will hate you lol I know from experience and lowering a bunch of Mitsubishis. Really great on corners but then crap starts happening and your back is taking it hard. Hope the car is well built and doesn't go out of alignment quicker than usual.
Oh yes, you're right about that haha. I need to play with the settings a bit more to see if I can soften it a tad more. I ended up purchasing a lifetime alignment package so as I go through the build and change additional things, I can dial it in better. All of the suspension bushings, aside from what was changed in this video, are still original. That will be the next thing to do, along with the wheels, tires and brakes.
*S I, If you're back was hurting like that, then it seems like you did something wrong.. While I owned my 300ZX and daily drove it on Powertrix coilovers, i never once felt any sort of back ache/pain.*
I'd be installing coilies on my S13 this weekend too had it not been for the seller disappearing with my money and me having to lay a charge of fraud yesterday :(
i haven't seen a other midnight blue 240sx on youtube ever.... i own a 1989 base 240sx fastback TH1 ( midnight blue with blue interior) you have a rare color dude dont fuck it up bro
Regardless of how it's actually pronounced, many Southerners will pronounce a short 'a' sound with a long 'a' when it comes in the middle of a word, it just depends on how their family and friends speak.
I owned one round about 10 years ago and i really had fun with it. Great car. But are the prices going up? Bought mine (200sx sr13) in a pretty good condition for 3.500 dollars but i can't find one that cheap anymore.
*I'm kinda bummed you didn't go with Powertrix coilovers, as opposed to the BC ones that you have now..especially since you want to track the car. It pays to go with a company like Powertrix (specializing in Nissans), who puts so much R&D into each of their coilover kits, and tests them on the road, along with various road courses/ race tracks. BC Racing doesn't even appear to much, if any, R&D into their suspension components.* But hey, it's your car, and if you're satisfied with the product and the results that come from it, then good for you.
Saabkyle04 I'm glad I could help, also I was going to say some 240's have a wind dam on the front of the sunroof if you don't have that it might help even more! Love your videos man, I know a person near where I live that has a 2013 Ford Mustang GT Roush stage three and she claims that it is one of four in the world, it's black with a red stripe down the side, it's called the black widow edition!
Saabkyle04 last thing, a car request if you can find one, a 2017 Ford GT would be awesome! Thanks for replying and I hope I have helped.. and by the way the wind dam looks kinda cool on those cars in my opinion. Joseph
Yeah, I know some people named Chris, one of them as most others know being ChrisFix. I have an uncle named Chris who lives up in Virginia, but he's not ChrisFix either; he was named Colonel Chris because he used to work for the army for 32 years before his retirement.
Dude I love you ur channel, I love your car reviews, I've got a review request. Can you review the koeingsegg agera ONE. If y can get your hands on one...... thanks..... cya
That's way too much negative camber in the rear. -0.5deg will probably wind up working better for you. The double-wishbone setup in the rear means you gain negative camber under compression, so you want your starting camber to result in a flat tire while in a corner.
The car had -0.75 from the factory. So far, it's working out quite well! Like I said, it'll probably change when the wheels and other suspension pieces get fitted.
Mortalomena interesting, didn't know that about the Mk.3 Supras. On S13s, they definitely get more negative. At about half way where the tire tucks into the fender, the camber starts to get pretty crazy, which is why a lot of road race folks run less camber in the rear. When I got my s13, it was slammed on some ISR coilovers, and the rear had like -3deg using the factory control arms. Luckily, aftermarket arms can correct all this :)
Just to clarify, the car is now running about 2 degrees of negative camber in the rear, before I got it aligned, it was about 6 degrees of negative camber haha. It was insane looking :O
Keep something in mind, Kyle. Some camber is good for handling, because of body roll, your contact patch is increased, therefore increasing lateral G's. Another thing to note: Get rid of those stock wheels ASAP. They're really heavy, and they don't look as good as some aftermarket wheels.
Also, it's really cool to see the only 240 in the world that isn't drift converted lol. It's pretty much every single 240 out there is drift converted, and it's annoying, because they are capable of so much more than skids.
Thank you! I'm in the process of ordering new wheels, that, plus brakes and a 5-lug conversion will come in a couple months or so. Right now, the car has about -2 degrees of camber in the rear and -1.5 degrees in the front, which seems alright. It'll probably change with the new wheels, might need to raise it back up a tad. Can't wait to progress, the car will be awesome!
No, not going the drift route. It'll be a street car primarily, but I definitely want grip, especially with the powertrain that'll eventually go in it.
Well, you've done it. The last stock 240sx on earth is not stock anymore
Garrett Box I got one that’s bone stock lol besides a 1 piece driveshaft lol
Garrett Box yep when I got mine I was hoping it was swapped out and thankfully it was and it doesn’t have hicas either which I was happy about lol
Garrett Box it's pretty much rear steering, on the back of the rear subframe it has a steering rack that would turn the rear wheels a few degrees for better handling, but nowadays they usually don't work anymore and just take up space and are useless
Garrett Box not a problem
There will always be another stock 240 somewhere
Kyle thank you for not taking this car's usual modification route. We need more examples like this!
Love your 240! That color is great
Thank you so much! I can't wait till all of the dents are pulled and it's repainted (one day!), that Midnight Blue will really shine!
Saabkyle04 Do you know what's the topspeed of a 240?
+Alper Öz err when new maybe 120
Nice video Kyle! Chris seems like a genuine guy, keep him around!
Awesome well put together video as usual! I love the route you are going with this 240sx, finally a well put together, property done build! Cheers.
Thanks so much Noah!
Saabkyle04 You're very welcome Kyle!
good going kyle😀😀😀the 240sx looks so much more sleeker and better. I am sure it will turn out amazing
Love how it looks! It was awesome being able to see it all in person! Thanks again, Kyle!
wow I am impressed with the explanation of the toe settings and that it eats the inside of the tire much faster! I have this problem on my car and all the garages (that I tried) are blaming the camber! anyways thanks for the video
We need more tuner shops in the south east. I’m in SC
"Ridiculous amounts of negative camber" 😂
Dude , greetings from Turkey. I like your car passion 😃
I've had some work done at Deft Motion. Drew is the man! Best prices and great service! Just sayin.
This is gonna be a super sweet car when it's done! Best of luck in the journey with it Kyle, always love seeing the updates
Thank you Jeff! There's a lot of work to be done, but everything is starting to line up!
Can't wait to see how this car turns out after your done Kyle :)
Thank you!!
Sweet car and I like following the project. I have a 370z as a second fun car. I have been considering getting another car for fun and this seems like a cool and low cost way to go while also keeping it in the Nissan family.
So glad to be seeing a build update. Good luck I'm sure it will be great!
Thank you!! :)
Great video as always, Kyle. I always enjoy the project update videos. 👍👍
Thank you for watching!! Glad to hear it!
Great vid as usual dude. Also, good luck getting 9.5" wheels up front
Thank you! That's what I'm leaning toward, but I have to take into consideration offset and camber as I don't want a lot of negative camber. Still trying to figure that out. It's amazing how hard it's been to just figure out something as seemingly simple as wheels XD
Nice
Grant Tobgo i fit 18x11 5p on the front on my 200sx with 10mm slip ons haha
I really love this series ! Keep em coming Kyle :)
Does make a big difference in the feel of the car, improves the feel so much you think its faster. I have 9k/7k setup, can be rough on some roads.
that 240 is a gem.
Great change of pace video - look forward to the next 240 vid.
Hey Kyle could you review the Porsche macan GTS? Also I was wondering at the end of your reviews you should give your own opinion about the car for example saying if it is worth buying or something like that! Not trying to change your style of reviews but just wondered if that would just be the cherry on top of the cake
Nice kit! I'm sure the shop just loves the exposure you provided them. Certainly looks like you need to soften the dampening!.
This car is turning out phenomenal 👍
you should collaborate with Adam lz!
Yeah man, that would be awesome!
Continue this nice work to your project as long as you can!
Always! Thank you!!
Yay! I've waited so long for another 240 video!
legend says that kyle will reply. You should try find a Toyota celica gt4 to review. Also more JDM cars:))). love the vids! great quality!
Thanks so much!
The 204SX sounds good with it’s upgrade.
12:35 those downshifts were perfect lol

Very nice man it will come out great I'm sure when it's all done
1:20 with the 240SX in background and your leather jacket you're looking like straight from the 90's
(kind meaning)
your car is in a realy good condition! less rust, pls be kind to this one!
i suggest also replacing the front lower control arms, when i replaced mine both were broken...not worn out, broken. Nice 240 man
That's nuts that they were broken! I'll dig into that a bit more. They looked fine upon inspection, but it certainly wouldn't hurt. I also need to replace all of the suspension bushings. Thanks a lot!

did you figure out the fix? Im thinking of going this route wanted to know how its going for you
@@garagemonkey526 Hey Chase, the only fix was changing to another set of coilovers. The BCs were too stiff for the 240.
@@ranyothman5211 dang okay. What’re you riding on now?
@@ranyothman5211 and what did you have the rebound set to
if you want to get rid of that wind noise, go to home depot and get a rubber door wedge. cut it down a little and shove it in there. problem temporarily solved and cheap!
loving this Kyle!! keep it up!!
New rims and exhaust next please! Looking good!
so hype for the MY17 GT-R Nismo
Can't wait for the nismo vid
Awesome vid man, but you should've put on a cambercaster plate with it
Well, good thing you own other cars...other wise, if you daily this, your back will hate you lol I know from experience and lowering a bunch of Mitsubishis. Your interior and exterior is so clean! I like that all your suspension parts match in color! I like your style Saab Kyle!
keep it up Kyle
The hype is real !
Car's looking great!
Are you ever gonna do workarounds of cars at the used car lot again?
Awesome videos man.
what are your plans regarding the engine? you'll love any dual cam engine in comparison trust me!
loved the video, please make more 240 videos
Lots more coming, thank you for watching!
I'd be installing coilies on my S13 this weekend too had it not been for the seller disappearing with my money and me having to lay a charge of fraud yesterday :(
the car is looking nice man :)

Great video Kyle.

its came-ber lol
It's not.
Regardless of how it's actually pronounced, many Southerners will pronounce a short 'a' sound with a long 'a' when it comes in the middle of a word, it just depends on how their family and friends speak.
That bumpy ride will get old. Maybe I'm just too old LOL
I owned one round about 10 years ago and i really had fun with it. Great car. But are the prices going up? Bought mine (200sx sr13) in a pretty good condition for 3.500 dollars but i can't find one that cheap anymore.

5:20 You're still subscribed to bajabusta, Kyle??
My man! So am I!.... and I ain't ever removing it, either!
Kyle that wind noise can be fixed by replacing the window rubber gasket in the sunroof
I'm about to order one, it can get quite shrill on the highway haha
Saabkyle04 I'm glad I could help, also I was going to say some 240's have a wind dam on the front of the sunroof if you don't have that it might help even more! you should get a new front bumper if youre not going to put aftermarket body parts
Definitely need new exhausts!

Have you junked the stock engine parts? I would love to buy em. I too have a 240sx and trying to go stock as much as possible. I like originality.
i really hope you do a rb swap im sick of 2jz and SRs

Yessir, especially the chrome tips I eventually had installed for him, that was a necessity haha. Thanks for watching!
I'll take those factory wheels off your hands whenever you decide to swap em out!! lol
Andrew MDK I also wanted them lol
He pronounces camber very weird well at least to me lol
Pretty sick

That's way too much negative camber in the rear. -0.5deg will probably wind up working better for you. The double-wishbone setup in the rear means you gain negative camber under compression, so you want your starting camber to result in a flat tire while in a corner.

Double wishbone does not always mean you gain negative camber under compression. In the mk3 supra you gain positive camber on compression.

can you please make a video on the 2017 Silverado 3500hd ?? PLEASE !!!!
Keep something in mind, Kyle. Some camber is good for handling, because of body roll, your contact patch is increased, therefore increasing lateral G's. Another thing to note: Get rid of those stock wheels ASAP. They're really heavy, and they don't look as good as some aftermarket wheels.

Hey!
Will you try out the new Opel inaigna grand sport 2017/2018 ? Wanna hear you're opinion 👍
drew looks like a less hipster version of that "how to make everything" guy
Get a new exhaust !
I will once the new engine is finished, no sense spending the money until then :)
+Saabkyle04 yes but but that could take months and how could U live with stock exhaust for that long haha or u known chop the muffler for now
Saabkyle04 my cousin has a stock 240 silvia s14 with an exhaust stock engines and internals
Yeah you should do that
beautiful
YOOOO I live in Nashville !
I like how you say camber
Awesome vid
