@@craigneidel I'm surviving, Thank you very much!
Cheers
@@craigneidel Thanks Craig!
I’ll be glad when the m4 Mac mini comes out. Just to be clear on Macs, if you don’t download any apps and just use the ones that are already on it, (and being smart with emails and have iMessages turned off), you won’t get viruses or malware? And do you need to download apps like c cleaner, or is there already untivirus/ malware built in the Mac?
You really don't need to use the cleaner apps in my opinion as Macs do a good job with their built in security. Yes, normally issues come from the people making a mistake and downloading something they should not have but it's possible to get Malware in extreme cases.
Thank you Craig! You do a great job. However, today, you cost me (and saved me $300) a bit of cash on a 2nd Studio Monitor. 😳
It's a good price of you need it. Thanks for watching the channel.
That's a terrific price on the M3 Pro MBP 14, a great laptop. It kills me that I recently paid full price for that model, but that was bound to happen.
Yes, that is a great price for sure but I'm sure it won't last too long.
Me too...
@@Cville2347 I feel your pain
On Amazon - I saw M1 Pro 16” 1tb storage + 16gb ram for $1200ish. That is just mind blowing to me. Makes me wish I held off but man, my M1 Pro 14” is still insanely smooth. So fast. Fans only come on when I have high settings playing dota 2 game.
4k renders and everything else, doesn’t break a sweat. I also notice a difference between 16 and 14. I wish I got 16 inch but I admit, it’s a chunky one lol.
Yes, the M1 16" is still a great machine and more than most people need even in 2024. The Pro chip is great.
I wouldn’t buy a PC laptop that didn’t let you replace the SSD drive. Though looks like replaceable RAM is going away with the new CPU chips.
Get what works best for you
So far, no reports of mass SSD failures. NONE! Now go buy a Mac.
@@tonyburzio4107 No.
I like the AI response mail but only in certain context and situation.
If it's very specific on what needs to be said, than no.
I get a lot of emails for recruitment/work and I just want to reply back with a 'no' in a more professional way. I technically could ignore them but I am not that type of person, everyone is obviously different.
I could also copy and paste a canned 'no' response but sometimes it doesn't follow through properly based on the email back. If I do get an interest, we can talk on the phone where no AI will be used, hopefully lol.
I agree, for short canned responses I can see it being used but they have that now more or less. I think they will eventually be writing most of the emails which I hate to think about. Imagine "Hey Grandma......" all by Ai. Funny but it's coming I think.
@@craigneidel 😂😂😂 “hey grandma, those AI images are real, I have a real dinosaur as a pet, see you soon!”
Nice
I'm with you, Craig. I hate the use of AI for writing & image creation. Leave the human stuff for humans, and use AI for things like upscaling etc. Non-creative, non-personal actions.
Yes, that is one thing I hate is having these things write canned messages for emails. I mean are people that lazy and why have a large company decide what you are going to say? Thanks for watching.
I couldn’t afford to be a MacBook user. As right now I have installed a 1tb drive in my PC laptop. In my new laptop, I’m going to put a 2tb NVME in it.
I now have that terramaster das with 60 tb of storage so I just offload extra data to that. I'm fine with 512 or 1 tb on main machine.
@@craigneidel Yeah, I guess that's possible. Connecting it to the wifi router so you can still move the laptop around as I usually have my laptop in my lap, and so can't have a bunch of wires or dongles hanging out of it all day.
It's really just one cable and I just unplug it when not in use. I don't always need it plugged in either as it's for backups and data management. I just schedule time to do it.
AI -Apple Intelligence. Brace yourself for all the never ending mocking that term will get.
We will see. I want limited Ai and I'll be happy.
