    Dump truck you can run around the clock from basically March-April up until November-December.. if you are smart and know how to manage the money you make running the truck day and night all season. The down time in the winter can be a great time to take a break and go over your truck 100% to get ready to do it all over again next season. I’ve done this and it works out well if you’re actually disciplined and keep track of your money

    For anyone looking to buy a dump truck. Go with a Mack RD 600/688 series, 350hp, E7 engine, tri axle and the miles should be around 200k. Price 20k-50k. This is a great starter to buy and its a legendary truck. It's slow as balls tho, you're welcome!

    Just my personal opinion but semi is #1. Yes put in one year of running hard buy a second truck by 2 to 3 yr . I would stay away from new trucks in the first place because you would be the red the first day . Dump trucks in most places is only seasonal . Here in the NE we have fixable in what type of semi loads available .

  • @F1v30h1
    @F1v30h1 2 года назад +9

    New trucks have just as much maintenance as old trucks. I drive ready mix with a mixed fleet of old and new trucks. The new trucks are down as much or more then the older trucks. The only benefit to new is the warranty but then you drop them off at the dealership and you do not see them for months.

    • @FreedomLandTrucking
      @FreedomLandTrucking  2 года назад +3

      I'm seeing this too. And newer trucks have the DEF system which cause them to have a fair bit of trouble the older ones don't have.

    • @poorlittlebiker6476
      @poorlittlebiker6476 2 года назад +2

      If you drive just a dump truck and tow nothing that weighs over 10,000 pounds a class B should be all you need. A lot of companies (at least in my area) that want dump truck drivers want class A with no transmission restrictions just because a lot of their trucks are manuals and they use them to tow heavy construction equipment.
