Out of all the cars you've bought it probably has the most 'potential'... what a shame to break it. It's a lowish volume homologation special built for rallying, check out the one that James at Chops Garage (on RUclips) is currently running and finding hard to let go of! Should we start a "save the Ignis Sport" appeal yet??

Had a red one with the standard white alloys. Very underrated! Great power>weight ratio and very grippy when sorted. Great for throwing around with the go-kart handling.

Looks like JDM import by the square plates, probably a decent car before it was ragged to death, might make a good DIY resto project👍

I had a black one years ago with fog lights and standard white alloys. Lovely little cars and criminally underrated. Should become a classic not too long from now.

Indicator is on the correct side, past japanese cars had the Indicator on the right. The only reason they changed it was because of European car makers taking s left hand drive cars, drivers console and transferring it to the right without changing the Indicators over. We all got used to this. Jdm cars have the indicator on the right.

Yes I’m aware of that. British cars were the same. ‘wrong side’ compared to what we’re used to these days, not literally

My wife had the 1.3 ignis for 8 years and loved it she only sold it because it was a little small to get the 2 grandchildren in and by the way it never went wrong and virtually nothing for mot.

I’d love an Ignis sport, I had a 1.3 a few years ago and it was an awesome little car!!!!

Those petrol vvt engines are bulletproof if maintained. I've had 4 Suzuki's all have been very reliable and cheap to run.

the 1.3 engine in the swift gti was better, imho. It reved higher and had more torque (at least it felt like it, but the car was lighter) at low revs.

It's worth saving on rarity value alone however this needs a serious de bling and a lot of work. That mileage is a lot by any standards. Sometimes you have to let go mate and I would with this. 🤔

I bought my 8yr son Jensen a 5 door ignis 2002 with 45k on the clocks for 300 quid to learn the basics of car repair/maintainence after he repaired it and passing its mot he is the proud owner of an immaculate little ignis he is looking into some more tasteful mods touch screen head unit upgraded lights ect so we will be following the progress of this little gem for ideas he prefers the alloys on yours to his so there's 1 idea you gave gave him

If you got it cheap enough mate well worth saving as sorted they are massive fun! Retail is prob £1995 so if you can sort and at least break even you will have a cracking toy

These are becoming classic hot hatches with rally pedigree but this one has been through a boy racer and neglected. Worth keeping and breaking for spares as values go up.

i have one of thise i love it... it could be in better shape outside. ( scratches in the painting and stickers are worn to ) but other then that it's great. got it turbo'et and got it to just under 190 hp with the 1.5...... what is really great though is the fact it's only driven 80k miles, so still in great shape.
edit: if you just go full ham, it dose 0-100 km/h or 0-60 mp/h in about 6 sec ( minde you it's still 190 hp in a car that is around 950 kg and not mean for that amount of power ) so it goes wrom if it gets floored

Its a Suzuki of corse fix it up and 175000 is not much on any Suzuki you are thinking of UK and European cars which at 175000 miles are on there last legs but Japanese cars aren't especially Suzukis they are good as Toyotas and you worked out why the indicator stalk in Japanese cars is on the right side of the steering colum so you can use it and change gear at the same time because like a lot if countrys Japan have right hand drive the same as the best country in the world Australia

I have mine since 2003,bought brand new. Same mileage as this, black without the fog lights. Bone stock, I've done everything and went everywhere with it, including some quite hardcore off roading, surprisingly. Never said no, never had a hick up. Love it to bits! 😁

@5:28 It looks good but it feels tacky but the Suzuki of today sells a loaded 100 horsepower offroad vehicle for about 30 grand. Lifestyle vehicle seem to sell for a premium, especially fully loaded. You get a Toyota Landcruiser for this price, lol. 😊

i bought my Ignis sport 3 years ago. i was cheap, but i spent a lot (more than double) to make it fun and safe to drive.
IMHO it worth it! in the end, if the engine and frame is good you should fix it.
i think its very underrated and its the most cheap/fun to drive liitle nugget. 😍
i don't want to sell mine but i have to couse i need a car with much more space.
the driving part, i have to forget it. it costs a lot for a car that combines everything good 🙂
