There’s a service mode you can access via the screen - lots on RUclips. Battery needs to be under 15% when you do it and plugged in- takes about 24 hours but will give a pretty accurate battery condition report. Worth doing and take a photo to add to your advert.
I never use my Tesla key, once you link your Tesla phone app to the car it knows when you walk towards it and unlocks when you open the door handle. It also locks when you walk away. Simples Great honest review 👍
As an obviously new Tesla driver he’s missed out a lot of things. Voice recognition is 2nd to none, and heating, boot, glovebox can all be done by voice. Say ‘My feet are cold’ it’ll send heat to the floor. You really don’t need to use the screen for 90% of the things he was looking for. 😊
You’d like the “dog mode” feature…. Keeps the car at a cool temperature even when it’s red hot outside. Puts it on screen too to tell people outside it’s in dog mode…so nobody tries smashing your glass in an attempt dog rescue.
Kinda shows why accidents will rise as more folk spend there time looking at screens and trying to work out how to turn things on and off rather than looking where they are going....

Excellent review. Once its apparant the batteries last a long time the values of these will go up. I think that's the main worry for a lot of folks. Jeremy Clarkson said you're not a true petrol head till you've owned a Alfa Romeo. I would say the same about the model 3 performance, you owe it to yourself to have a stint in one of these. It might not float your boat, but Alfas didn't float peoples boat either.
i'm a trade plate delivery driver and collected one of these just yesterday, same model, even the same colour, much newer (on a 23 plate with just 16K on it) delivered to G3, the acceleration on this car is stunning but the car is just metal, it has no soul, i collected a SL63AMG a few weeks ago that had similar performance and this car HAD soul.......the roar from the exhaust was awesome and i felt privileged to have been given the opportunity to drive it (not many people have had that opportunity)
Refreshing video. The only downside for me is that the frunk lacks enough space for a body! lol. I think 400 miles range on full charge is is pushing it... I have mixed feelings on BEVs and lacking a driveway would be impractical for me currently, in fact completely out of the question. Having said that I am a demon for torque and believe this one is not far off the 1000 Nm mark!
My daughter lives in a terraced house not far from Liverpool city centre the council have moved all lamp posts to next to the kerb instead of by the house and all lampposts have charging ports on the street light tap your card and plug in
If you had activated the app, you could have cooled the car down remotely by venting windows or putting the climate on, equally you can pop the drivers door open from a shortcut on the app as well as the frunk or trunk. Wipers can be activated by pushing in wash wipe stalk or pressing left had scroll button on steering wheel, no need to use screen for most things once set up
A while back the Gatwick taxi I used was a Tesla 3 with 280k on the clock. The battery warranty terms were more generous then and it had one free replacement. The car was being used in a shift system by 2 drivers using supercharge
29:55 Kudos to you for being transparent on what you paid for the car, £16,479. I saw a similar video on another channel and they didn't disclose anything (buying or selling price). £2400 seems a fair profit really! Price it keenly and it doesn't hang around?
Agree with you the Teslas are fantastic cars. I have a model 3 Long range and paying next to nothing to charge it at home (on cheap overnight tariff) The supercharger network makes long journeys a breeze and the tech means you arrive relaxed. Performance leaves just about everything behind. That said, none of this spoils my enjoyment of my MX5. As a daily though, I think they are unbeatable.
I have noticed im seeing more Teslas over the past few months. I think some people obviously love them and others dont. I think they look okay, but not a car i would want. Id have thought with the laws about using a phone whilst driving that theres a grey area around using that huge screen. Yes i know it does everything via that screen
The majority you are seeing are company cars and lease vehicles that have taken advantage of government incentives. This is the reason why Joe has bought a 4yo vehicle for no money......the public don't want them and he might find he is left with a lemon.
Nice car, but even though they have the best recharging in the UK, you still need home charging. We have just had a quote for our house it was £7,000! That's makes it a big no,no.

@andycard4241 there's a guy on RUclips with a 100k mile tesla, battery degradation was around 8%, nothing in other words. People are fixated with the notion that battery life falls off a cliff when in reality it doesn't.
I sold my Model 3 Performance after 4 years and 70k miles, only 7.8% reduction in battery health/range. Most of which was in the first year, since then it dropped very slowly.
Probably already said by others, but a lot of stuff you just do by voice. ‘Set climate to 19 degrees’, ‘open glovebox’, navigate home etc. I hardly use the screen for anything whilst driving
The warranties on Tesla change so much over the years, but one thing i do know is that when the battery dies, its game over, throw it away and buy a new one battery cost is more than the car value. An extreme case was a guy in the USA used a new tesla as a taxi, battery was done in a year, warranty not valid as over 120,000 miles.
@@stevenc5227people that can fix the batteries are starting to pop up now. The main problem was that there weren't enough on the roads to make it a worthwhile business, but as there are more on the road, especially older ones, clever mechanics will figure this out.
Batteries (and motors) of these cars are actually very reliable and last a long time. Multiple ones have over 200k+ miles without any issues. It's the same with an ICE engine and being totalled when that breaks down outside of warranty. Worst degradation happends before 100k miles, then it's a slow steady decline around 85%. Could be better if it's charged more carefully, but even with it being super charged only, it still lasts. I would say they last atleast 300k miles and 10 years for most cases.
When you buy a second hand Tesla, is the control centre reset to “Default” position? Just imagine driving home for the first time only to realise that your passenger has just been ejected through the roof because the previous owner hadn’t reset the system!
There's no service schedule because not much servicing required. You need to fill the washer fluid and change the cabin filter occasionally and as with any car, eventually suspension parts need replacing. I work for BCA Blackbushe and have to drive a few of these every day. They are so counterintuitive. Turning on the windscreen wipers on some of them is a total joke. Tesla, WE NEED A SWITCH FFS! if the old owner has taylored the seat to a specific position its a nightmare to stop it moving back to that position each time you move, it seems. REALLY F ING ANNOYING. If the12 volt battery goes flat you are in real bother. Bonnet should have manual backup to access battery, which should have jump points. On the positive side the heating and demisting in winter, is virtually instant, fatish heated steering wheel is a dream. Brilliant taxi, but nothing else.
Use the voice command button on the right and say wipers minimum or wipers off etc Pretty much everything is voice command as it is on my non Tesla car.
There's a wiper switch on the indicator stalk. But if you aren't the owner (i.e its paired to your phone) then i imagine there are all sorts of issues. Makes them harder to steal though.
Tesla have always had nice alloy wheels, they just fitted aerodynamic wheel covers over them to try to get to the advertised range. Just that folk never took the covers off to see what was under them. When you consider what they cost new and how far they have fallen, their value is only going one way and it isn’t up. Don’t forget energy charges are rising by 10% shortly, something the EV evangelists don’t seen to be advertising. If petrol went up 10% all we would hear is EV is cheaper. Their argument doesn’t even make sense. It’s cheaper to charge at home, well ok but, when you go for a day out somewhere you can’t take your home with you to recharge it. But, petrol is more or less the same price everywhere. As for the “geeky” lock/unlock thing, try Renault. All you do is approach the car and it unlocks, then locks as you walk away. Key never needs to come out of your pocket or wherever you keep it. Having to actually touch the car is something Peugeot had back in 2017 and, even then, it didn’t need the key to touch the car you just touched the door handle.
Do u often drive 400 miles then ? I don’t own a EV and I’m a taxi driver and I can count the days I’ve driven 400 miles plus on one hand so I don’t think most people would ever need to use outside chargers
@@stevenmoran4060 the tesla will lock or unlock if the app is on your phone automatically. You don’t need a key card. It’s really cheap to charge at home. Yes they are fast. Except that if you use the performance you’ll be needing to recharge in no time. Did you see the car trek episode where they put a Tesla on an oval track drove it flat out and the battery died in 20 miles?
Design is subjective but they are not for me. Exterior is alright but that single screen for all functions in the interior is pants. Sure it will sell to someone though
We love our EV its just so smooth and comfortable to drive. I've given up arguing with the anti EV brigade in the same way the early adopters of ICE cars did with the horse and cart drivers all those years ago. Are they the answer, maybe not but technology will continue and must continue.

Oil burner’s the future when no one’s buying them and car manufacturers are stopping making them, so yes the future, err then again maybe not.
I suppose now the bottom has dropped out of the ev market they are cheap enough. Just don't change the battery lolo.
Great cars, I’ve had 2…❤️❤️
Nice car Joe but not for me at all.
iPad on wheels 😂 not my cup of tea but if u like them cool for you 😊
Yes they are fast. Except that if you use the performance you’ll be needing to recharge in no time. Did you see the car trek episode where they put a Tesla on an oval track drove it flat out and the battery died in 20 miles?
Even at 1m/kh would do 70 miles on a full charge. A very heavy right foot will yield 2- 3m/kwh. My M3 LR with acceleration boost averages 4m/kwh
Want one
Design is subjective but they are not for me. Exterior is alright but that single screen for all functions in the interior is pants. Sure it will sell to someone though
Brilliant 👍🏻
These have a 330 mile range
i4 M M50 = crazy fast (try it)
328 Mile Range ?
Tesla keys are £15, not £100. 99% of people use their Apps rather than they keys to use their car.
Prefer physical key for my Tesla
I take the bus...much more fun than a Tesla. Wont get in any violence in your crappy cars..will on the bus. ❤❤
I’ll stick to my jcw mini petrol
We love our EV its just so smooth and comfortable to drive. I've given up arguing with the anti EV brigade in the same way the early adopters of ICE cars did with the horse and cart drivers all those years ago. Are they the answer, maybe not but technology will continue and must continue.
Typical mossad bot comment.
Cheap as chips...a bargain.
Why not Gift it to your better half
I wonder if the “cheap” upfront cost is made up by the cost of repairs, parts and the waiting times?
Someone will come unstuck in the future 💯😜
All of which are low to be honest. Don't just jump on the media led anti EV bandwagon
@@ShiftingMetalI would say 99% of the EV bashers have never had one and have no idea.
Yes the usual comments of batteries only last 3 years, they eat brakes and tyres for fun blah blah blah
Most ev owners say they’ll never go back
