I got the 67lite as well but haven't been to happy with it. Got r1 and switches just seem much heavier than on other boards I test in. Curious to try out the ikki soon tho.
My board sounds pretty much exactly the same, but has no foam at all. Thought it didnt even need it. I have banana splits, acrylic case and pc plate. I love how it sounds!!

@Hotphot Yep. The PE foam mod basically overpowers everything in the acoustics department. I have a sunsetter built with 67g aqua kings. With rubber plate gasket, it sounds decent. Rubber plate gasket, tape mod, and shelf liner case mod sounds good. Then when you switch the rubber gasket out with the pe foam it sounds amazing. Then you remove everything but the pe foam, and it still sounds just as good. The difference is so negligible I may well only use the pe foam mod with some case dampening material like shelf liner.
Poron strips Def seem to help the sound more then the silicone ones lol it allows the pop to come through even without the pe foam 1 silicone in the bottom and then the poon gasket strips I feel are the move for sure lol
this is a crazy build! sounds just like jeffbattlestation's Vega ai03 with lavender switches. another endgame keyboard right there! love it! Great job!

these PE foam mods literally take any entry boards into jelly epoch 'contender' in terms of soundwise.. and how do you think about the risk ( I heard some mention that the mod can brings ESD that able to kill the pcb) is it worth the risk?
Apparently some PE foam is ESD protected, I think KBDfans uses ESD protected PE to package their PCBs. But even if the foam you use isn't ESD protected the sound change is absolutely worth the risk.

Actually the underglow is still there, i only turned the light intensity a bit if i remembered it correctly. I'll bring this board back recently and give it a check

I have a very similar build with tangies (v1 i think), PE foam, and the bottom two silicone dampeners removed. Can't seem to get mine to sound as marble-y as your board though. What PE foam are you using? Is it just any generic PE packing foam?

how??? theres no way these are tangerines, i have a number of builds with tangerines and they are generally very high pitch, even with PE foam mod, lubed and filmed, they don't sound like this.
I got my tangerine V2 from zfrontier CN, lubed with krytox 205g0 from kelowna. I lube the whole switch include top and bottom housing, and film it with Deskeys 0.3mm film. Personally I think it's the thick film makes it not that high pitch.

Idk I like the clack of the tangies tbh, the board sounds great it’s just that the switch loses its sound character.

Definitely works best on bassier sounding boards. Not a fan of it on clacky boards such as bakeneko though.
I opted for the 67 lite over this. Needless to say this sound test has me SHOOK. Think I might need to re-sell my ting!

I got it from my ID80 packaging. They wrap ID80 case with PE foam and I just took it and cut it to fit aurora's pcb.

ESD pe foam usually has carbon embedded into it and is therefore black.
Any white PE foam should be safe.

quite accurate imo. for the volume, pe foam mod tend to give you a sound profile that sounds loud, but actually I think it just boost it a bit

Minority opinion. I think your build without PE foam sounds better. This mod makes it sound too foamy.
