To this effect, I can also see solo runs and one-on-ones drawn to a minimum. III. Leao is gonna have to work a lot harder for the team and with less individual freedom. IV. Long possession cycles to frustrate opponents and maintain clean sheets. V. Intelligent high press (defense starts with the no. 9) In other words, Fonseca has been brought in to extend Milan's attack-minded brand of calcio, but with more balance, solidity, and efficiency (less wear and tear). To fight for the no. 1 spot on the table - he will need nothing less than a defensive midfielder to complete the midfield, a highly technical RB, and of course, someone who can provide a scoring output of 18+ goals.
Mostly Italians are trashing him because they wanted an Italian manager. Glad to see there's much more common sense on these channels, I also think he will do good.
@@ronnieb.7903I wouldn’t say it’s bc they wanted an Italian manager. We just rely on individual brilliance a lot, and we need someone who can keep the dressing room together. We’ve also seen Fonseca at Roma, and he wasn’t good at all

He had a very mediocre Roma team and did the best that group of players could do while also playing exciting football, since he left Roma hasn’t finished higher than 6th once. Roma had a 3-4 year period where they qualified for the ucl because of how bad both milan clubs were, as soon as the Milan clubs were back , combined with the rise of Atalanta , Roma were always going to naturally struggle to stay at that ucl level, with or without Fonseca.
Good video! Not to mention that his Lille team tied 3rd on the least goals allowed in Ligue 1 with a young backline + Umtiti (only in limited number of games), so we kinda need him to help our defense. The modern AC Milan is really known to hire underrated coach to get better results. So I am not against Fonseca at all. Matty Cash would be a fantastic signing and is much needed. I still think AC Milan needs a dominant CM who is great on the ball and a great athlete as well.
Bennacer does that in an extremely silent and efficient way. He may not be a giant but he's so good at directing the team. Unfortunately he's had many injuries. Reijnders has quality but he's not strong enough to play in the middle. Adli is growing but he's very slow and physically weak. Loftus could play there but he showed to be extremely efficient as a number ten. I'm not sure if we need another type of Pirlo player or a Gattuso. Tonali seemed to have a bit of both. Unfortunately the love story with him ended (although we were lucky to buy many players with the money he got us. His suspension would have let us with no midfielders)
I forgot Musah. He shows a lot of promise. He runs, he's technical, and he plays all around the midfield. But I would never see him as the man who dictates the pace of the game. If we don't get any midfielders, our only chance to be consistent is if Bennacer is fit. When you see him playing live you realise how he's the brains of the team. When he's not playing, we only rely on Leao's creativity and Theo's incredible runs. Luckily we have a very strong player on the right side: Pulisic. A guy who attacks, assists, defends and scores. He scored in one season twice the goals Saelemekers and Messias had scored the previous season. We have a stronger team than the year of the scudetto. Gabbia has improved. Unfortunately Thiaw is a ghost compared to his first season, but I hope he comes back to his original level. Kalulu has to return to the Kalulu we saw the year of the scudetto. And Tomori is the leader of the defense so I pray to the God of football he doesn't have injuries. Kalulu can be a valid option for both 3-4-3 and as a RB but he can't be trusted with all those physical problems. Florenzi, who has always played very well, can solve the RB problem but he also suffers injuries and sometimes can't last the whole game at high levels. Question: With Pulisic and Chukwueze both RW players, do you think Fonseca will try Pulisic at an AM role in order to have both the players on the pitch at the same time?
We have no idea who management will sign this summer. In order to implement his Fonseca's style, he'll need at least two solid CDM who can control the game, win lose balls in the midfield so we can quickly counter.

I loved this video man. Awesome stuff. And I can tell you're upping your tactical knowledge and presentation. What sources do you use and what is that software? Personally I really like this system. The 4231 formation is extremely versatile and as you point out switches really well to a 3-2 shape at the bottom. I hope he also incorporates elements of functional play (also called relationism) particularly in build up phases. Spaletti used to do it at Napoli and Xavi Alonso at Leverkusen as well. What this means is that you free yourself from the positions on the pitch in favor of a position relative to players. For example you can have players get closer to each other. This makes build up potentially slower but very hard to defend against because since you tighten the zone of play, you free up spaces out wide (which is good for switches and counters) and create overloads in these spaces where you have the ball. Sorry if it sounds wonky but I have been reading and watching about tactics for several seasons now. This sort of system looks like the current meta 😂😂😂. Keep those vids coming!!!
I hope Milan is able to sign a proper DM, what they have currently will not cut it and has been jeopardizing the backline since Kessie left. This style of play will expose that even more. And on another note, I haven't been a huge Kalulu fan since Okafor snatched his ankles, but I think this is the perfect system to slide him back in at right-back.
I would say I’m..settled. Relaxed even. Not optimistic or pessimistic but..not worried things will get worse. And I see the possibility for things to be much better, but I’m really just glad this is over.
I really hope Technical and tactical part of fonseca helps develop Musah into a better player in the final third there was too many times this year where he would make an amazing dribble past a defender and then not make the best of it right after weather it be losing the ball or a bad pass
He is very technically promising but still in the phase of developing his tactical aspect and perfecting his ability. But playing under Pioli who only wanted his players to sprint and dribble all the time surely didn't help

This season will come down to our additions on the market, if we get zirkzee, fofana , and RB(not really liking who we’re linked too tbh) I’d rather keep salamakers and have him play RB if he’s gonna be going forward a lot anyways and use those funds for a STRONG TTACTICAL CB to pair with Tomori either way whatever Fonseca achieves won’t come down to tactics since he’s basically Pioli V2 it’ll be the quality of our players specially on defense… our problem last year wasn’t scoring goals it was preventing them.. as of right now I’m literally expecting roughly the same results from last year with PAULO PIOLI FONSECA as the manager
So... pretty much what they went here is the same thing that Inter did when Conte was gone, they didn´t went for another coach with different tactics but one that could SOMEWHAT replicate what Conte did and even improve the game style that he had, which is what Inzagui did. Very nice presentation of his tactical style. Had Pioli been given the defensive assets he needed last season he could have played a similar system and gotten better results. If they don’t sign quality players like Fofana, Buongiorno, and a new RB, this new coach will also concede a ton of goals
I just hope he start to believe in primavera players or at least put more italian players in the team, because right now what i see is not AC Milan but Internazionale Milano.

I'm hopeful as always and acknowledge that we inevitably had to move on from pioli who I give all the props to for stabilising us and achieving success for us. All though the way he was treated on social media etc. often was nothing short of disgusting and very often disrespectful so thank you Mr. Pioli ❤. I believe if we keep Theo, Leao and recruit a long term upgrade at the CF and DM and hopefully get a world class or at least high quality central defender and replace Calabria at right back with all due respect he's not good enough for any team that wishes to challenge for silverware. I am as always optimistic and hopeful that we can challenge for the top positions while if I'm totally honest I don't feel We'll add a 2nd star next season but hopefully we can give a better account of ourselves in the coppa Italia and super coppa to try to win a trophy. Forza Milan always ❤
We need to just strengthen our defense we won that season because we didn’t concede not because we score more. Our attack was ok last seasons it’s our defense which was 2nd tier team grade .
Perfect. 4-2-3-1 is right for Milan squad.. this new manager is better with preparation, which seems to have been lacking with Pioli... Forza Milan! 🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤
I think you just have to wait and see. He’s not a name that excites, nor is he a joke. I’m more concerned with the front office. Calafiore is going to Arsenal for peanuts. Kush…you saw how are CBs played last year. Go after Calafiore. The front office hasn’t improved the roster.
Marseille are in talks with De Zerbi but we got Fonseca. I understand wanting to optimistic but call a spade a spade! Cardinale and all the other clueless Americans he brought with him (and I’m an American life-long Milan fan so don’t just call me a blind hater of anything America) have made it clear what their intentions are. It’s been clear since Cardinale fired Maldini. AC Milan is Cardinale’s cash cow. Cardinale doesn’t care about trophies, he will sacrifice all silverware and sell all of our best players as long as it satisfies the balance books and gets our stadium built faster so that he can sell the club and flip it for a multi-billion dollar profit.
Considering the availability of coaches this summer, Milan didn't do a spectacular job, as i think it reflects the policy of the club again altogether, we took a low demand coach in terms of players, without a great portfolio, at least not great for a club like Milan, tactically safe because we continue on a relatively same path in terms of tactics, which can be good as we have a base and foundation of the team already, the chance I think was more from a mental point of view, because Pioli couldn't affect the players with the same motivation as before, and that's ok, Pioli did a wonderful job and for me he's a great coach. I expect Fonseca to continue the path for Milan to be competitive but I don't expect he's gonna skyrocket us into success, but again that's the reality of the Redbird era.
No matter what I'm with him since he's our new coach ❤

I am as always optimistic and hopeful that we can challenge for the top positions while if I'm totally honest I don't feel We'll add a 2nd star next season but hopefully we can give a better account of ourselves in the coppa Italia and super coppa to try to win a trophy. Forza Milan always ❤

We need to just strengthen our defense we won that season because we didn’t concede not because we score more. Our attack was ok last seasons it’s our defense which was 2nd tier team grade .
And Fofana would be best signing hands down
AC Milan coach is Zoro actually
If he bench calabria, i’m with him
I’m more concerned with how the players respond to him .your tactics don’t matter if the players aren’t buying in
Should firstly solve our defense issue. Way too imbalanced when it comes to our midfield
I think okafor earns a chance to take the 9.
Bro we gonn’be cooking real good man…I just hope we get a finisher as a 9….Gimenez or something
Gimenez isn’t as good as you think
much better than De Zerbi who btw cant even get a top club interested in him
Against Inter it will be a real rest for Fonseca
How will Fonseca implement his pressing tactic with guys as lazy as Leao
Exactly
Before ❌ and Before ❌
I don't believe Fonseca can achieve any of this 😂😂😂
Perfect. 4-2-3-1 is right for Milan squad.. this new manager is better with preparation, which seems to have been lacking with Pioli...
Forza Milan! 🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤
FOFANA IS NOT A LONE CDM
Why was he fired at Roma?
I think you just have to wait and see. He’s not a name that excites, nor is he a joke. I’m more concerned with the front office. Calafiore is going to Arsenal for peanuts. Kush…you saw how are CBs played last year. Go after Calafiore. The front office hasn’t improved the roster.
😢😢😢
I am wondering why we are not buying Italian , remember there are FA and UEFA rules to comply with 😢
👍👍
We are going to a Zero season again I have no hope for this coach
Very very outdated system to be honest. No fusion, no experiment, no tweaks. Something tells me we will concede way too many goals in this season too.
I think Dest would have been a great option for Fonseca if available. I know that experiment didn't work out but maybe it was just a matter of timing
Dest is garage
