He was clear when he re-newed: I signed in AC Milan because I couldn't say no to Paolo Maldini. Now, guess what? He's not here anymore and Theo will not have any considerations when they talk about a new re-newal. Hope he gets what he deserves out from this cheap ownership.

That is a misinterpretation of what Theo said. He didn't actually talk about leaving at all. He just said what every player says in this case. "I am 100% focused on the euros and after that... we'll see." Nothing in his language suggested he is leaving.
He also said that Spain was not an option.

Schira ( a good sport journalist) explained the commision "roadblock" very well.
Essentially the commisions are split with the player, its just good cop bad cop act. The player will act as he dosent care about money and the agent will do the dirty work and get the insults. Ultimately they are doing their job and don't think for a second that Joshua is being "blocked" by his agent, quite the contrary. The sooner we get this fact the sooner we will stop thinking players are in the good side and agents on the bad. They are all doing their intrests.
I think Theo is *mostly* trying to create leverage in the situation, basically giving push back to the idea “I’m staying no matter what” because he very much DESERVES a higher wage and I think the club will ultimately raise their offer (albeit slowly)
Truthfully, Milan have been run VERY well from a business perspective while also improving on the pitch in recent years so it’s hard to be incredibly critical of their process although it’s also been the cause of the notable recent exits
With regard to the Zirkzee situation, yeah it feels like the Agent is trying to subvert the contractual ‘release clause price’ to capitalize on his client’s big season
Right and that was with the Maldini and Messara running the club they were able to improve the business and football quality. This management is slowly showing us that they'll be able to keep up with the money/buisness side of things but our football quality on the pitch is falling off. The other thing is Inter and Juve are having a great start to their market and improving in football quality... Milan is not keeping up and with another year of this amatuer level of management were a Europa league team again..... I honestly hope im wrong but i doubt it
@@senorgreen3819Comparing Milan to itself over the last decade it has improved leaps and bounds. To say they’re not keeping up is to completely ignore the insane improvement that has occurred. Comparing yourself to others is folly. Comparing yourself to yourself over time is the proper barometer of success. Milan is improving. Inter and Juve are as well. What this tends to come down to is endurance. What Milan have over Inter and Juve is financial stability which will allow them to continue their growth while Juve and Inter will go through lows and highs. Juve lost out on CL last season even though they were better than Milan. But Milan played the financial game correctly and were able to beat Juve to the 4th position because of this. And then the squad got better and we finished 2nd this season, out performing Juve despite them not having nearly as many games played.
We need Zirkzee and if it does not go through because of his agent, I have no words!
Agents are ruining football and clubs in general should refuse to pay those huge amounts. Unfortunately there will always be clubs that can afford those numbers.
I don’t see Theo as a huge loss. No defender for Milan should be safe. The team has been horridly defensively and no amount of stats justify any defender being safe. All of them are capable for that season.

I'd rather we don't get a couple of players we need and instead use that money to renew with Theo. I was supportive of the management so far, but if we lose Theo I'll be going all the way to the other side and call them unambitious morons. If you can't afford to sign the best players fine, but at least you should not lose the best players we already have, especially Theo who is THE best left back in the world. If you have any amount of ambition you wouldn't let him go. If we lose him I don't know if I'm even going to watch next season....
Hi bro, always happy to see your videos. I hope Theo gets the recognition he deserves for all his efforts with the team, as he truly deserves more than what he currently earns. The same goes for Mike Maignan. I was just disappointed that AC Milan didn't secure a better prospect like Sesko if they are serious about investing in youth with high potential. Zirkzee is good, but I still think he's not good enough for us; there are better options on the market that are cheaper and perform better in all the areas a striker should excel in (like Guirassy or Santiago Gimenez). What does Zirkzee have that makes AC Milan want him so badly? If it's about youth, Gimenez is young and more talented. With our playing style, he would adapt quickly. Guirassy plays in one of the strongest leagues in the world and would definitely perform right away. I just don't get what Zirkzee offers over these guys.
I think in 2023 its premature for any management to discuss renewal of a player whose contract is till 2026, however now it should take top priority exactly how we did for Leao, we need to understand there is a limited bandwidth for the management, they cannot discuss contract renewal of one of the core players along with signing important players this summer, especially when we are seeing how much effort it takes to negotiate to get a single player like Zirkzee, not to mention the coach as well. I think management is planning on discussing the renewal during the season and Theo kind of wants to remind them.
Its so unreasonable , its not like the agent persuade the player or the club to make this transfer happen. We pay the clause , we already have agreement with player about the wage. There is no big contribution from the agent to make him deserve it.
Exactly, they are just "there". Of course, they work with contracts, deals and stuff that the player might have no idea about, so maybe they deserve their cut, but why on Earth would anyone accept to pay half of the player's worth in agent commissions?
Zirkzee could fire his agent or tell him to stand down if his agent was the roadblock. That means Zirkzee is allowing him to do this.

Theo for 80m+ is solid. He’s a pinnacle for the team but that’s insane money and we could easily buy 2 solid LBs for that and the money saved on the salary.
Zhirkzee isn’t the worst loss if we don’t sign him. He’s a solid striker and would likely slot into the team really well but it is a lot of money and we need that invested in a defensive midfielder and center back. There are other decent strikers on the market and we still have Jovic.
I think Fofana is a great option. We desperately need a Kessie replacement. I blame a lot of our suffering on the loss of Kessie. He was just so good, especially at the end of that title winning season. We don’t really need another Tonali. We need someone who is willing to run everywhere to win the ball, cover spaces, and relieve the pressure on our defenders. A lot of Milan’s defensive struggles came from the midfield and the lack of support they had. It was basically tasked to the two center backs and the right back. That’s it. Hardly any support from the midfield.
Weiffer is a better defensive player than Fofana. Got that backwards. Fofana averages more key passes, carries, and take ons, while Weiffer has more defensive actions. Weiffer is a true 6. Fofana is a defensive 8.

Theo was an indispensable component in Pioli’s attacking phase, not to mention his work rate and minutes - but he’s a defensive liability (especially on set pieces and zonal defence). Milan conceded a whopping 50 goals last year, and I have a feeling he’ll be sold for a good coin.
I believe Juan Miranda is coming in from Betis on a free transfer as a starting LB, and Milan will then advance Jimenez as his backup, while acquiring a highly technical full RB for €25-€30M.
Other than that, Milan need to desperately fill two more roles (defensive midfielder and no. 9) for which the talent pool is almost non-existent - hence the exuberant asking prices and punitive commissions. Zirkzee would be a nice-to-have but not a must-have. The holding midfield choices with box-to-box ability are Wieffer, Fofana and Rabiot. Let’s see!
The other feeling I get is that Leaõ will be sent packing. His lazy-ass, nonchalant attitude would be ideal for the Saudi League. I would love to see Chiesa in rossonero, especially when Milan could really use some Italian-blooded players. Forza!

The Theo issue smells of a contract negotiation tactics. I think Theo is happy at Milan but wants/deserves to be paid more than some of the others mentioned. Milan should be careful though as the milage he has put on the last 5 seasons is bound to catch up to him at some point. You don't want to be the one holding the 5, 6, or 7m per year contract if injuries start coming in. No matter how much I am a fan of Theo if an offer of 80-90m comes in for him it should be seriously considered.
I don't get the agent's play on Zirkzee. How is the image of you blocking your own player from completing a move that they want good for business long term. If Zirkzee wants this move I can't see him being happy and keeping the agent after this move so the agent loses out on future transfer fees. It is also bad to attract new clients, why would they want to be in this situation in the future? Seems very odd to me.

AC Milan is allergic to buying young Italian players. Inter are better then Milan when it comes to this aspect. Inter bought Barella, Bastoni, Frattesi, Di Marco. They got Italian veterans in there too like Acerbi and Darmian. Milan have like 1 or 2 italian players which is pathetic.

Theo has been among the best left backs for years now. S-tier player wants an S-tier club. And there are only a few of those in Europe (Real, Manchester City, Bayern, PSG) where not winning the Champions Legaue is a disappointment and not winning the league or Champions League is straight up a bad season. With Milan the best thing is a scudetto run ever so often and maybe a deep run in Europe every few years. Not enough for a player of Theo's caliber. Especially if he performs well at the EURO.
