The treatment of daikon is so good, most people in the west can't get all these ingredients but with these understandings they can make oden, i love oden i learnt a lot here, thank you.

I love Oden. Your recipe is beautiful. It warms my heart. Thank You so much. These days many people can get the ingredients from the internet. Also, many big cities have Asian grocery stores where we can get either all or most of the ingredients. I just found you while looking for recipes for authentic Oden. Yours looks the most authentic. I enjoy cooking and most of all Japanese and Korean cooking. So again I sincerely thank you for your beautiful Oden recipe. I will introduce my American friends to eating Oden for the New Year.

The first time I had hot pot like this I did not think the giant disc I was eating was radish. If you had told me, I would have not believed you. But it was incredibly tender like stewed potatoes, and it truly soaks up the soup broth so well! Very delicious.

That's intresting! But, if i had never tried radish, I could not believe it. Yes, the texture of it is really tender and delicious. I hope you'll enjoy daikon again! Thank you for watching and your comment:)

Hello, I made this for my mother and we both enjoyed it very much. The 1st thing she said was "Itadakimasu!" and the 2nd thing she said was "Oishīdesu!" I did not add the cabbage rolls because my mother never added cabbage rolls when she made Oden in the past, but I'm sure it would be a delicious addition. Thank you and Happy New Year Ryusei-san!
