The treatment of daikon is so good, most people in the west can't get all these ingredients but with these understandings they can make oden, i love oden i learnt a lot here, thank you.
I love Oden. Your recipe is beautiful. It warms my heart. Thank You so much. These days many people can get the ingredients from the internet. Also, many big cities have Asian grocery stores where we can get either all or most of the ingredients. I just found you while looking for recipes for authentic Oden. Yours looks the most authentic. I enjoy cooking and most of all Japanese and Korean cooking. So again I sincerely thank you for your beautiful Oden recipe. I will introduce my American friends to eating Oden for the New Year.
Your comment encouraged me so much! And you're welcome. That's nice. I'm happy you get the ingredients and enjoy japanese food. And thank you for introduceing our culture to your friends😊 Have a nice day!!
The first time I had hot pot like this I did not think the giant disc I was eating was radish. If you had told me, I would have not believed you. But it was incredibly tender like stewed potatoes, and it truly soaks up the soup broth so well! Very delicious.
That's intresting! But, if i had never tried radish, I could not believe it. Yes, the texture of it is really tender and delicious. I hope you'll enjoy daikon again! Thank you for watching and your comment:)
Absolutely masterclass episode Ryusei,so beautifully presented! A lot of culinary details,no wonder, our Japanese restaurant somehow doesn't serve it,what a pity.I love all the ingredients in Oden. Can't wait for your stuffed cabbage recipe!
Oh😅 In cold days, oden is the best food. I hope they'll serve it in the future And I hope you'll enjoy oden. Yes, please hold on, I'll make japanese taste stuffed cabbage!!
For who is recently studying Japanese like me, this channel is not only a place to learn new recipes, but also to study many useful Japanese culinary vocabulary. It’s very helpful! ありがとう先生! (At the current state I am still not so sure about when to use polite form or not😅, Japanese sure is too complicated in this sense)
That's nice! And I'm very glad my video is helpful for you. Yes, japanese is very complicates and I'm sure you don't much care about polite. Desi(です), Masu(ます) are so often used:). If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me😊
Hello, I made this for my mother and we both enjoyed it very much. The 1st thing she said was "Itadakimasu!" and the 2nd thing she said was "Oishīdesu!" I did not add the cabbage rolls because my mother never added cabbage rolls when she made Oden in the past, but I'm sure it would be a delicious addition. Thank you and Happy New Year Ryusei-san!
Hello, I’m so glad you made it for mother! And your mother speaks Japanese😳 It makes me happy. Yes, cabbage rolls are not common ingredient. But, it’s delicious. I hope you’ll add it next time. Thank you. Happy New Year✨
@@kyodokan.japanese.cuisine Yes, my mother is Japanese. She is very old now and does not remember how to cook 😔. Hi from Canada.
Why the usuba instead of nakiri? Isn’t the nakiri thinner and made specifically for jobs such as these? Thank you for these videos ❤
Hi, thank you for watching and your comment from Canada.
