An incredible amount of testing has to be done before we shoot a Gymkhana. Even after the mechanical aspects of the featured car are dialed in we have to fine tune the details to get that sweet sweet footage, and that includes finding a tire that can perform AND give us that smokey goodness we crave in our donuts. Subaru and Yokohama Tire joined us for an awesome day where Tire Slayer Studios really earns its name!

We need the Huckster, Hoonitron, and Hoonicorn on a This vs That special (with special appearances of the Hoonipigasus and the IndyTruck sprinkled in).
They don’t even have to race each other, maybe have other challengers take on each of them. A Hoonigan vs The World special.

It’s really cool to see Travis and Ken back at the Hoonigan compound and tearing it up. There has been so much talent in there lately but its cool to see the founders in there showing off.

I love this car so f-cking much! The sound, the look, the way it handles!!! Such great work Hoonigans! Gymkhana was a great time. If you haven’t watched it yet, defi go watch it!
Pastrana definetly doesn't seem to have the precision and finesse that Block has... but he makes up for it by having a heavy foot! He just drives it like he stole it! :D
Ken took time to get used to the Hoonicorn, Pastrana just needs to do the same with this monster

Travis prestrana and Ken block are from 2 completely different worlds but sometimes Pays off to learn from your peers and see what worked for them and put a little of your own style in to it too a mix of both worlds
I love the purpose built Gymkhana machines. They look like life-sized Hot Wheels cars.
Even having watched the new Gymkhana it still is crazy how fast this car is in the tight stuff - especially in a known space like the Tire Slayer Studio yard... 😲😎🤟

@@gravecode Yeah, there were two ones that I saw that made me flinch. Across the water where it smashes the bank in the outtakes and one bridge landing. To think the chassis could handle those hits, is very impressive!

They need a bigger place now with a track and a massive skid pad. These are cool and all but they could make some fun events and courses for people like Travis to come and play around in.
The front end has a very DeLorean Back to the Future vibe to it. LOVE IT
I love this car, like I said in the build bio, my ,ayes parents had one when I was young and I wish I could buy one now.
Also, it’s amazing how different he can change how the Car rotates, it’s almost like he turns off and on all wheel drive

Ron - "You can run this same tire on your car and have the same performance..." Ummm, minus the fire-breathing transformer car with 800hp or whatever craziness y'all chuckin out. Love this thing. I grew up riding to school in a normal one of these. Wish it did what this one does. Lol.
At 12:37 min in, Travis does A tight center line donut then comes out and almost does a drift around his own smoke cloud. That's a move I'd like to see researched and refined, from above it would almost look like a Bullseye target.
Still found my favorite tires to be Yokohama. No contest they are always my first choice.
Time for Travis to shine in the hoonigan world which already is shining the light on rally drifting and Nitro Circus,, It's been a big shock in Motorsport for ken block #43 of his passing but don't forget ken and Travis put hoonigan on the map . But the love will always be there foreva 🙏❤️. Rest in peace ken block #43 our memories of you will live foreva for now ken passes his experience to his daughter hope fully she will shine the light on this awesome Motorsport from hoonigan team. Reliability to them is something else than to us. You absolutely would not get more than a couple 1000´s of miles out of these engines,
which is still impressive of itself, but that´s not what they´re build for.
The goals to engineer these is always absolute maximum on power for the distance you need it to do before you can/are allowed to change/rebuild it.
I wanna see a gymkhana with Travis and ken tandeming AWD cars. I feel like I’ve never seen that

What a guy!. This Travis is a hell of a great driver with balls of steel!. And that humility. High respect!. All his videos are epic and this level of driving is very rare. The only guy who could match would be Walter Rohl. But Rohl don't do stunt and demonstrator stuff.

@hoonigan I think it would be awesome to get camera setup at the clipping points to see proximity at a better angle.... awesome video and the Yokohama is one of my favorite tires they look so good and perform so well.

I know it's a Subaru but whenever I see it coming directly at the camera from a slide with all the smoke billowing off the tires I get these back to the future Delorean vibes.
