I am trying to determine the best package to buy. I have 165' and would like both kids and adults to use the zip line. Please help. Bruce

I don’t think the ratchet strap style even comes in that length. Even if it did there would be too much stretch for an adult to ride.
I’d go with the wire style. Here is a link to the one I have but in a length of 180’ :

There’s also a 200’ version for $10 more if you want to be sure it’s long enough. I’ve had this one for 4 years now with no issues.

*As i dont have trees for a backyard zipline im just going comment on the state of the skateboard deck in the background, I love it, thats a sign of a well loved skateboard*

I’ll mail you a few acorns and pine cones. #teamtrees 🤣
Yes that deck has seen it’s share of tricks. The whole complete needs an update though. Maybe next year though as I blew my personal budget on my bike. 🙃

Want one of these for my 6yo, soon to be 7yo. Unfortunately, we do not have any trees in our yard. I'm gonna do research to find out how easy it is to set up and take down so maybe(just maybe) we can go zip lining at a beach or park.

At that age as well as for the quick setup I would definitely recommend the ratchet strap style. Thanks for the comment!

The zip line review was great but the machete was even better.
A couple years ago I was at Harbor Freight and they had a machete similar to yours on clearance for $4.99, so of course I bought one because who doesn't buy a $4.99 machete at Harbor Freight?

Obviously. Buy 4 and they probably throw in a free flashlight. 🤣
That reminds me, I got a $50 gift card to harbor freight I need to spend. 🤔

@@FunsizedAdventures I love Harbor Freight.....they need to bottle the smell and sell it as a cologne. 🤣😂

Great overview! Soon there will be a third option 🤣. I think that would be a close shave.

I’m just going to throw this out there:
If anyone is working on bringing a magnetic levitation “hover line” to market, I will gladly volunteer to test it.
      🤣🤣🤣

the steel wire kit I have recommends 8% slope which would be roughly seven and a half ft of difference from top to bottom on our 95 ft line. does that seem right? sounds excessive.

      Thanks for the comment!
Most zipline manufacturers suggest between 3-6% so that’s definitely at the high end but there’s actually several different factors at play.
Check out this video where I take a deep dive into how to get the slope right:

      I hope that helps!
