Hi Tanya. Great video content as usual, thank you. So, I thought I would buy a 4k stick for my other tv and turn it into a powerhouse, alas no joy. Straight from the box I plugged everything in and double checked all connections. Found the HDMI source and......nothing, then I got a white box that covered the majority of the screen. There were links displayed in different places withing the box but none of them worked, I tried using all my remotes, but nothing worked. I unplugged everything, left it for about half an hour and tried this time with my Firestick 2021 connectors that I know work including (2 amp) plug), still this white box comes up. Could this be a faulty stick?
Sorry, please can you confirm that you have tested the Firestick plugged into the TV and power ONLY (not connected to any other hardware) and still get the same results? If so, then yes, it sounds like a faulty stick unfortunately. Thank you for watching 😊👍❤️
@@FireTVSticks Thanks for reply Tanya. Yes I have tried all power outlets with nothing else attached. Guess I shall have to return it for as replacement.
I've really enjoyed your videos. They've been very helpful. I have been attempting to use the Ugreen hub and hard-wire my internet but without success. When I plug in an external power supply to power the hub, while I know there are 3 LED lights on the hub, only one lights up. My firestick cannot see the 32GB thumb that I have plugged in or my wired Cat5e cable. When I check my router where the cable is plugged in it's not lit. I attempted to switch the outlet with the one I use for my computer but it still doesn't light. Could my firestick be too old? Ideas???? Thanks.
The UGREEN hub can sometime be temperamental. Sounds odd, but try wiggling the connections until you see all 3 lights. That is incorrect. The official Amazon ethernet adapter can only reach a maximum of 100mbps. With the uGreen (or any other aftermarket gigabit ethernet adapter) you shouldn't have any problems getting much higher speeds (subject to maximum speeds provided by your ISP). While you won't be able to actually achieve 1000mbps, other Firestick users have reported reaching between 300-400mbps using the uGreen. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching 😊👍❤️

Your issue with Filelinked could be due to a few reasons: 1) Your ISP is blocking. If this is the case, you will need to use a VPN to bypass the restrictions. 2) You need to restart your device. 3) Your system time and date on your firestick could be wrong. Go to Settings / Preferences / Time Zone / If this displays incorrect information here, try restarting your firestick. Remove it from your TV and power supply for at least 30 seconds then plug it all back and and let it reboot. Check if the time and date settings have reset to the correct information and then check if this resolves your issues with Filelinked. 4) Did you get given this Firestick as a gift or did someone else purchase it for you on their Amazon account? If so, this could mean that the Firestick is blocked because it is registered with Amazon to the account that was used to purchase the Firestick. In this instance, you will need to contact Amazon, explain that you were bought it as a gift and they will be able to unblock it for you. Your issue with installing apps onto external USB will be because you have to follow a process to allocate your USB to app storage following the process: For Fire OS 6 - ruclips.net/video/TAy1VTaJk2o/видео.html For Fire OS 7 - ruclips.net/video/xilUcuHpk3Y/видео.html However, if you are running Fire OS 5, you cannot install apps to your USB storage at all. I hope this helps, thank you for watching 😊👍❤️
As the Firestick is formatted to FAT32, the maximum size of external storage you can use is 2TB as FAT32 only supports drives up to this size. Thank you for watching 😊👍❤️
Is the Toshiba 1tb drive detected by the firestick when you plug it in? I tried a cheap 2tb drive I had but firestick does not detect. It let me format it to fat 32 off the firestick but thats about it.
Fire TV devices can be rather picky over what storage you use with them. What storage you use is down to you, but there are few things you need to consider when choosing your USB storage. I personally use and recommend the SanDisk 32GB Flash Drive Amazon US - amzn.to/3aYwuGe Amazon UK - amzn.to/3vQy05t As Fire TV devices are formatted to FAT32, the maximum size of USB storage that you can use is 2TB, however, Amazon officially recommends using USB drives that are 128GB or smaller. Amazon also recommends that high speed USB 3.0 drives are used, even though Fire TV Devices have a 2.0 USB port because USB 3.0 drives tend to have faster read/write speeds and will perform better, even when connected to USB 2.0 ports. You also need to be aware that with this process, your Fire TV device is likely to run slower when launching apps and moving around the menus as files on your USB storage cannot be read as fast as they can be read directly on the internal device storage. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching 😊👍❤️

Unfortunately, you cannot run the ADB process with any Fire TV device running Fire OS 5 as it is running on an older operating system and will not recognise the ADB commands. Fire OS 5 runs on a 2nd Generation Firestick. You can watch this video to help you to add external storage to your Fire OS 5 device so that you can at least use that storage if you do things like download content from apps for example: ruclips.net/video/LQ7Na-hzeX4/видео.html If you are looking to upgrade: the 4K Max, 4K Firestick, 3rd Gen Fire TV Stick and the Lite Fire TV Stick are all capable of expanding the storage. The 4K Firestick follows this process: ruclips.net/video/TAy1VTaJk2o/видео.html The 4K Max, 3rd Gen and the Lite follow a different process that does not need ADB, you can add the external storage directly by following this video: ruclips.net/video/xilUcuHpk3Y/видео.html If you'd like to upgrade to any of these other Firesticks, please consider using my referral links as this helps to support my channel: ↪️ Amazon USA - tiny.cc/fireusa ↪️ Amazon UK - tiny.cc/fireuk I hope this helps. Well, Amazon has there own app that allows for typing from your phone using a keyboard on the phone. But not a mouse cursor. To each there own I guess. I have an app for mouse also for Firestick. Both free and don't have to spend extra money.

Although the ugreen adapter is a Gigabit version as I understand it the 4k Firestick can only transmit at a maximum of 100mbs. Can you please advise.

Your issue with Filelinked could be due to a few reasons:

Your issue with installing apps onto external USB will be because you have to follow a process to allocate your USB to app storage following the process:
For Fire OS 6 - ruclips.net/video/TAy1VTaJk2o/видео.html
For Fire OS 7 - ruclips.net/video/xilUcuHpk3Y/видео.html
However, if you are running Fire OS 5, you cannot install apps to your USB storage at all. I hope this helps, thank you for watching 😊👍❤️

What storage you use is down to you, but there are few things you need to consider when choosing your USB storage.
As Fire TV devices are formatted to FAT32, the maximum size of USB storage that you can use is 2TB, however, Amazon officially recommends using USB drives that are 128GB or smaller.
No matter what gigabyte usb i use, even powered ones, none of them detect an ethernet connection, iv used both you mentioned, the ugreen, other powered and none powered, i just cant seem to get them to work.....I have the new 4k wifi 6 firestick...any ideas? With the amazon usb i can get 70mb, wifi about 60mb....

Hi Tanya - greetings from Canada! Great vids - subscribed today. One question i haven't seen answered as to external storage - can you use an external 500gb SSD rather than a flash drive?? TIA! If anyone has experience using an SSD or knows if one can be used, please chime in as well!

Thanks Tanya great information love your channel🔥🔥🔥
Well my 2nd generation fire stick work with the ADB Shell.
Unfortunately, you cannot run the ADB process with any Fire TV device running Fire OS 5 as it is running on an older operating system and will not recognise the ADB commands. Fire OS 5 runs on a 2nd Generation Firestick.
You can watch this video to help you to add external storage to your Fire OS 5 device so that you can at least use that storage if you do things like download content from apps for example: ruclips.net/video/LQ7Na-hzeX4/видео.html
If you are looking to upgrade: the 4K Max, 4K Firestick, 3rd Gen Fire TV Stick and the Lite Fire TV Stick are all capable of expanding the storage.
The 4K Firestick follows this process: ruclips.net/video/TAy1VTaJk2o/видео.html
The 4K Max, 3rd Gen and the Lite follow a different process that does not need ADB, you can add the external storage directly by following this video: ruclips.net/video/xilUcuHpk3Y/видео.html
If you'd like to upgrade to any of these other Firesticks, please consider using my referral links as this helps to support my channel:

Hello, I have a Seagate Personal cloud and I would like to know how to access this with my Firestick. Any help you can give me will be appreciated. Thank you Malc
You could use a file explorer app such as X-plore to log in and access cloud services.
Great video😀😘🤗

Might as well just buy the Cube.
Same process is needed with the Cube if you wanted to plug in a USB mouse, and/or keyboard, and/or add additional storage too. Thank you for watching 😊👍❤️
You know that dress looks good on you ;)
I appreciate that. Thank you for watching 🙂❤👍
Well, Amazon has there own app that allows for typing from your phone using a keyboard on the phone. But not a mouse cursor. To each there own I guess. I have an app for mouse also for Firestick. Both free and don't have to spend extra money.
Yep, exactly. It's all about options. Thank you for watching 😊👍❤️

Good video. But why not just buy a Nvidia shield 2015 rather then do all this for extra storage and usb ports.
Glad you enjoyed it. Some people prefer Fire TV over android or android TV. Thank you for watching 😊👍❤️
@@FireTVSticks You're welcome. But this method just makes the firestick look like it's on a intravenous drip or a life support machine. Imagine having all that hanging from the side of your TV if it's wall mounted. It would not look neat.
Ah I have not seen you in a dress before so what was this video about again ?, 🤔🤫🤤😋😘

Hi,I have (2nd)gen firestick, amazon ethernet adapter & otg cable,my ethernet works fine when the otg cable is not connected but when I connect the otg cable it only connects to wifi has anyone got any solutions to my problem. thank you & stay safe 🏴
Hi, sorry, this will not work with the Amazon ethernet adapter, you will have to use a USB hub such as the Ugreen I showed in this video. You can find links in the description. Thank you for watching 😊👍❤️
