Thank you for doing this video guys. I bought an older Benromach CS at auction a few years ago that I never opened and wasn't quite sure what to do with. Just checked and it is a 1st fill bourbon distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2017. I have a Benromach Peat Smoke and CS both from 2022 that are open and really am enjoying them. One of these days I'll crack open that older one and have a comparison. Glad to know there may be some good whisky in that older bottle.
Wow. That old old bottle. Awesome. I first tried the 10 in 2017 and loved it ever since. I’m a big fan of this distillery. Although I will say I much prefer the old label. Anyway, I haven’t had anything under the new label and I hope it hasn’t changed much. Cheers!
Big fanboy of this distillery. Still have not had a bottle of anything with the current packaging. As it's not that widely known or chased California is still stocked with the older packaging. Priced quite low probably because the people holding it want to move out stock they have been sitting on for years. As to who called it The Springbank of Speyside, it was talked about a lot in Roy's livestream chat for a long time and Im not sure if it was one of us or Roy who started it but that is where it was spoken of first. Cheers Jeremy
Without saying anything about Benromachs Whisky which was always excellent in it´s own right anyway and it still is: The old design was nothing short of atrocious. From the point of view of a product designer it must be called ridiculously bad and it´s a blessing they came to their senses. We shall have hope Billy Walker and his GlenAllachie Team will do so as well some day.
To be fair Macallan is pretty good in only Ex-Bourbon. Total Wine had a 12 year old 47% ABV for $70 independent bottle (single cask)that was good. Not mind blowing but nice notes of orchard fruit and honey
Hey guys, I notice in your rant pod casks (which I enjoy) you often bring up the secondary market. I have a question, I'm hearing a lot about a whisky called Bowmore 21 Aston Martin. I read a comment thread that these whiskies could be worth over $50,000 one day like the black Bowmore series. What's your thoughts on that? is it likely? I can't seem to find the 21 but I can still grab the 22, and much like the black Bowmore series, even the 2nd and 3rd and 4th became worth a fortune. Note, I am not a collector or investor, but it is interesting if I can grab such a bottle! Thanks
The Bowmore Black contains much older whisky 40+ year old I think, and distillate from the famous 1960, so I'm not sure they will ever reach that level. But with most limited editions I can definitely see the Aston Martin's going up. Checkout Rob's review of the Bowmore 21. He's a big fan :)
I mean it could be worse Rob, you could have also torn your MCL. We call a tear of all 3 “the unhappy triad” in physiotherapy. So that’s something I guess? 😂
Cheap Russian vodka is good! Much better than expensive Grey Goose for example in fancy bottle. Same with Benromach. Both, old and new design is bit crap for me but juice inside is still pretty good. 👍😁🥂🙋🏻♂️

As always a great episode. I got a 2007 vintage benromach Cask strength that wqs pretty bad on the neck pour but has turned excellent with timr
My brother works for G&M. He’ll be happy to see this!

If I didn’t know better I would have thought you timed this to release the same time as KWM’s Benromach 2002 cask lol

And to be fair we've only tried one. You don't see them too often and I assume for good reason
What Benromach would u guys recommend for someone who doesn’t like too sweet or heavily sherried raisin flavors?
Peat Smoke from bourbon barrels

Cask Strength 2013 batch 01 is 9 years old now. Inflation?🤔
Does not end in “mick”.
Not sure how you can discuss the new bottle without mentioning how it looks like cheap Russian vodka. It’s bad.
You're saying the label looks like Smirnoff?
