*So happy to see you transplanted the phlox...it's one of my FAVORITE "old-timey" 🌸 flowers that you don't see much in gardens anymore. 🌸😉 May I suggest that you plant some old-fashioned hollyhocks on the side of the shed where the flower box and windows 🪟 are? They would look so charming there. 😍 And maybe you could also plant hollyhocks in front of your electricals, too, on the side of your house until your arborvitae gets bigger? They grow quickly and if you allow them to reseed, they will come up every year. 💝🤍💛💯*

You both did a beautiful job on the layout and execution of your entire area. The shed looks great in all white that was a good call. But the gazebo and furnishings look really nice I’m sure you’ll be out there and enjoy them all summer long. It’s very nice to see the two of you work together for a common goal. Oh, gosh, Elizabeth! Your yard went from nice but ordinary to really stunning! You and hubby planned it out well and with just a little help, the two of you created something really special for yourselves and your family. It's amazing how white paint transformed your shed into something delightful to look at! Of course your window with box of flowers has a big impact and accounts for some of it!
Finally, the actual patio/living space. How lucky you are that your hubby is so handy and so willing to work hard on things for your home. He did a fantastic job laying out the area, taking up the sod, cutting and setting the pavers (with your help, of course), building the gazebo and furniture and moving it all in place according to your plan.
I love where you moved the phlox to - they look very pretty there as a screen! I was sorry to see Rhonda go at first, but your mom took her so she'll settle in. Love all the touches - the roses, the new spot for the grill and the new dining table and chairs. I think you're brave for the white rug! It's absolutely perfect there and I applaud you for using it. I would have wanted to, but would have talked myself out of it, telling myself it wasn't "practical". It's the one thing I'd change if I could go back in time - stop being so darned practical and let my fancy fly! I'm proud that you don't hesitate. 🩷

We don’t have any dress in our backyard because years ago my mother asked faulted everything in the back so I do container gardening that we built and some that I picked up these real big round barrels. I mean massive barrels so we have an elevated make it easier for me, I don’t have any grass. It works out. I’ve been on four years of growing my garden and I’ve gotten really good at it.

There’s some seeds that you can put in there that it’ll grow much better. It’ll probably take you all the way to winter will be the nasturtium seeds. They got pretty blossoms now they got so many nasturtium varieties.

I think it would be nice to add a extension on your Gazebo patio for your little new table and chairs. Even if it not under the canopy, it will still have a floor so you won’t have to move it every time you cut the grass. Just a suggestion.
Maybe one day we can do something like that! We thought about gravel. The table was a last minute addition :) so far my husband hasn’t complained lol

I love the white shed! I was just thinking...you could do an agedwhite look by lightly brush-painting your red brick home, so it lets a little bit of worn red brick show thru. As for the little black solar lanterns ...its the slight roof overhang blocking the solar pane...I unhook mine and set them out in full sun for daytime...then hook them up at dusk.l have also thought of battery operated tiny white christmas lights twined up in the ceiling of the gazebo. Dollar General sells them for $2 a strand...and they have an on and off switch. A couple of hanging plant basket hooks attached to the brick house wall above the electrical meters, or tall shepherd hooks for hanging plants strategically.

Love the beautiful transformation. Definitely an improvement! We had a makeover, too in our back garden. My husband and son put in a fishpond with fountains. Planted lovely lilies in the pond along with other different plants around it. We now have frogs, newts, dragonflies and damsels that have made our fishpond their home. Also, have some small garden plots to grow various veggies, plus invested in new patio furniture, it’s such a joy to sit in my back garden now and relax.

That was some seriously back breaking work on your husbands part. . You both did an incredible job, and with help from Dad. The shed looks great . Would look sweet with two more little planters underneath the solar lanterns. Some lanterns have a little piece of tape you need to pull out to activate the solar. Was wondering if yours were this way.
It was! We figured my husband lifted about 1400 lbs in one day placing those pavers 💪 I realized yesterday that I hadn’t even turned the on the switch on lol! They work great now 😆
I do like the shed painted white. I planted a hydrangea tree this year that I bought from Menards. That is a good option too. Everything looks great!

In that funny why does like the new color for me I’m getting older I want it brighter so I want white for years. I had every room a different color but I’m done with all that I want everything white white white now the color will come in the accent things maybe a cabinet or something I don’t know, but I’d like white I did something a little drastic. I did a matted black trim, but only the facing not the sides. The sides are still white only the facing of the trim is black, and it still looks really nice. I found some really nice curtains to go with it in my bedroom and in my dining room I will be doing the kitchen soon.

Love your updates. I didn't read the other comments, so someone may have mentioned the solar lights. From the video, it appears that the gutter blocks the solar panel on top of the light. So, bracket that extends out further? I think the barn shed would look cute with the trim and x's on the door painted a subtle contrast color. I adore the faux window and window box of flowers-so pretty? What about the brick border around the whole shed? It looks a wonderful oasis!

Some homes do… it’s something we’re looking into doing, but very expensive. We don’t have dogs, but would like to keep other people’s dogs out of our yard.
Elizabeth I would put grass squares around the shed. And I would paint the trim around the door and the cross wood on the bottom black. I love the gazebo and the furniture and the rug. Absolutely gorgeous. Everything is just so gorgeous. Great job both of you.
