The F-35B’s costs are closer to $125M per aircraft making the F-15SE the better bargain plus you get two engines compared to a single engine on the F-35B.
@@SparksofOhio The F-35B cost the most of the 3 versions. The F-35A is the cheapest, and is cheaper than the F-15SE. If their was enough interest in the F-15SE, it's price could come down.
Wow, the stuff of my dreams. The stealthy and advanced stuff of the F-22 combined with the sleek, beautiful, graceful lines and lethality of the F-15. LEGEND
I mean that the animators bias the animation to show an amazing F-15 against crappy sukois. It isn't a false point, obviously you didn't pay attention enough.
I have never seen a copy of the F-15 or F-22 by any country, ive seen plans that look pretty copyish but never seen an actual copy. Although the F-15 is a formidable airplane im not so sure about the F-22.
MiG359NTF What the Pak-FA is... a piece of crap that isn't even a stealth aircraft. Those conventional engine intakes, they ought to put a big bullseye on the back.
+Alvin d The reason the F-14's went out of style was because they rarly used them and they cost too many man hours and money to maintain. I do admit though that the phoenix missiles were pretty impressive. I don't see why any other aircraft or strategic bomber can't fire them though.
F-15SE First flight: July 2010 Number built: 1 (demonstrator) Cost: 100 million dollars Su-35 First flight: February 2008 In army since: February 2014 Number built: 82 Cost: 40 million dollars
1198 F15s have been built and have over 100 confirmed kills with zero ever being lost to air to air combat. The silent eagle is just an upgrade to allow it to compete with new 5th gen fighters like the failed pak fa which is pretty much the equivalent to the silent eagle.
Woo hoo! A new F15 version! A stealthly, more technologically advanced version of the F15E Strike Eagle! Now from what I know South Korea is planning to buy some of these. This version shall be a super effective weapon for whatever popurses, even for countering North Korea!
No russian or any ones air force has ever shot down an F-15 Su35 would be shot down before it even noticed that an F-15 SE was present. Now with Radar abosorbent paint will make it still the best overall fighter in the world.
How many Su-35 have been shot down? Zero. You F-15 fanclub folks don't know shit about fighters. India's Su-30 made a lasting impression on the US legacy fighters during red flag. Plenty kills with radar working in training mode, not even in war mode due to secrecy matters. Yet no problem locking on F-15 from way out! Russia has their own AIM-120 equivalent. Su-35 sees more than enough through its OLS, which btw the F-15 lacks....bye bye eagle.
Sylwia Zielinski F1SE is stealth variant from the F15 therefore the Su-35 has a very big disadvantage plus your radar doesn't have the range the AESA has and also your AMRAAM equivalent is a little bit behind the actual AMRAAM
***** Russian intended to buy how many T-50? 😂 15, and what make you think the Flanker are good? these cobra maneuver you see at airshow? or the huge number of their missiles range that you see on internet?
Mark Rodrigues : aircraft performance are not limited to just top speed and turn rate, they are alot more complicated, If you think F-35 is shit and something like F-15SE or Su-35 is decent then you surely doesn't have alot of knowledge about fighter www.f-16.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=16457&start=240
I have read about the proposal of Boeing about F15se, this thing is real deal, I think none could not waste any penny on F35 when this beast with low cost is possible
@@ferrarisuper The F-35 is superior, certainly, if we're talking about a one-on-one, head-to-head engagement. The F-35 is also less expensive. Neither can do everything the other one does, though.
thats because its being sold for export as well, and Boeing has to meet a certain requirement for stealth, i was reading a article from 2010 a boing spoke person said the stealth configuration could be increased for US deployment if needed.
I don't understand why they went with Lockheed Martin's design, the F-15 is a well proven airframe with a flawless combat record. Add in stealth technology, it could potentially become the greatest killing machine in the skies!
Boeing had its own Stealth fighter version in this competition and it was not the stealthy F15! They lost the competition, reason I don't know! Perhaps their political support contributions didn't match Lockhead/Martin's! My guess anyway!
Stealth technology can't simply be added, at least if you want very low observability (VLO). No, the F-15SE does not achieve this, even with the internal carriage of weapons only.
Many of you people wondering what AESA radar is F-15SE Silent Eagle is using? The answer is the APG-82 v 1 combine from APG-79 use by F-18E/F Super Hornet Block 2 and APG-63 v 3 use by F-15SG (Singapore) / F-15C Eagle.
Perhaps you DON'T know about a thing called "weaseling"? Its the process of which specially armed aircraft(such as the F-16C or A-10)take out SAM sites before rolling in other airborne assets such as bombers and fighters. Do you really think we just spam all of our planes to the battlefield? No, defenses are surgically destroyed before airstrikes against major enemy assets begin. Plus, the S-400 isn't going to be of much use if it's rubble. And the BS of it being "hard" to find? Its not invisible, you can see it with your eyes. I apologize if I sound rude, but the in arrogance in this comment section make Americans look tame.
How exactly did you imagine the weaseling will be done? Telepathically? No, You need to send your planes towards the S-400, which has a range of 400km and through state of the art AESA arrays sees everything worthy seeing. And not to forget, they come with friends, usually with the pantsir s-1 for close call protection against smart ammo, radar homing missiles, Tomahawk etc. And it takes only 2 minutes for the S-400 missiles to travel the 400km and toast your f-16 ass. bye bye weasle.
Sylwia Zielinski Sorry, Sylwia. One EA-18 Growler can blind both your S-400 and your Pantsir. Then in comes our Wild Weasel... bye bye S-400 and Pantsir!! AIR DOMINANCE.
The F15SE and the newest F18 iare the US answer to "Gen 4.5 " jets being made in Russia and the EU. In practical effect this will be an export fighter to give fighter protection to F35s.
These planes would work together with f22s as "missile trucks" to dart forward and kill targets designated by the raptor. They would then quickly pull back to allow the raptor to clean up the remaining enemy fighters. This is a clever way to supplement the low number of fifth generation aircraft currently in the inventory against a numerically superior enemy force until greater numbers of f35 and eventually 6th generation aircraft can be fielded. Armed drones could also be controlled by these silent eagles to further maximize their lethality when f22s are not available.
Some of my takes: 1. F-22 is now officially over. 2. USAF needs something to fill the void. 3. F-35 isn't that thing. 4. They had to go back to the next best thing that's feasible with the shrinking budget. Hence SE. They figure that the Russians can modernize Su27 frame to be effective, we can do the same with our F15. 5. No more budget to do anything else. This is the result of the complete failure of Lockheed Martin and it's fifth generation fighter programs.
pencon61 The F-22 program is cancelled with only 187 built (purchased), because of the over budget of this airplane. Further, F-35, the "budget" choice is also way over priced, and with budget already way over strained, they have to have some cheaper and proven planes to be in the air force that can somewhat keep up with the competitors, hence this F-15 SE, following the super hornets, F/A-18. Sad truth is that these air frames can't keep up with the updated Russian air frames because those came later and had the advantage of learning the F-15s and F-18s then be designed to out-do them. Second question's answer: The extra cash would come from the tax payers of the future. Do realize that the defense budget is humongous as is (sum of the next 13 countries' combined), and that's not counting the war expenditures. Wonder why we are in such a deep hole of the debt? Well, the F-22 only adds to the problem. The military will get its weapon systems and the debt holders will pay for them, and one way or the other, those defense contractors such as Lockheed Martin will get that money. Who will pay the debt? Our children or their children, one way or another.
I agree to a point. If you are not making newer planes, but just outfitting the F-22's that are already made, there are only so much you can do. F-22s have not seen real action despite recent armed conflicts, because they are fatally flawed in survivability. It's idealistically commissioned to fight idealistic future air battles, but the reality proved to be somewhat different. Sure, they can fix the problems with another 100 billion dollars, but I think the current ones can't be fixed in that department. It'd be almost like making new planes anyway. I also think that it's smart for the military to tap into these older proven air frames to reduce expenditure. Not all adversaries have the ability to match them. These planes suffice on vast majority of the missions for the next couple of decades.
I have to agree with you on that. Same goes for Super hornets vs. F35B for the NAVY carriers. I think the drones will take over a lot of Stealth mission eventually anyway, especially for the NAVY. They should cancel the F35 altogether as well, but there are some other countries involved and they put in some money. Cancelling at this point means having to pay them back somehow. Lockheed really played the tax payers of not only the U. S., but all the allies who joined this program.
AGREE 1000%! They picked an inferior frame to keep Lockheed in the game. Not that F22 is bad--it's pretty darn awesome, but YF-23 would have been even a lot better. F35 is a joke because they got into their ideological scenarios to work an angle to get another model in there to make money. They figured that this 4th generation jets got 4 models, next generation should have at least 2. Well, ouch for our wallets!
bluesky I repeat, How many sukhoi 27s any version have been shot down? ZERO. Red flag has given some answers about claimed F-15 invincibility. Su-30 made lots of kills in exercise. BTW, Nowhere has the F-15 been tested against able adversary. The US-bully keeps on pounding the weak kids on the block, like Iraq, Afghanistan, Lybia and so on. Israel bullied the Egyptians and Syrians. There is no merit in defeating inferior airforces/airdefenses and claiming invincibility.
Egypt is not an inferior force. They won one of the 2 wars with Israel. I don't care about your rambling, Russians simply don't have the funds to make aircraft as good as the U.S who's air force simply dominates the world. Any other idea is retarded and ignorant of the simple fact.
bluesky Yeah sure, you'd be the historian, right? 1973 october war had little dog fight going on, due to the fact that the Egyptians used russian SAMs instead of fighters to neutralise IAF, which at that time flew mirage no F-15. Israel lost half its air force in couple of days to SAM batteries and shilka air defense armed vehicles.
Su-30 'Red Flag' exercises with for example with Indian air force SU-30MKI's were typically WVR, both sides were witholding the full (especially electronics) capability of their aircraft, and the US was in the unusual (for it) position of not dominating the general airspace of the engagement area with the assets it would normally have, eg AWACS etc. Without doubt though, it does seem like the SU-27 onwards would be dangerous WVR opponents. BVR is far harder to evaluate. SA-6 from '73 war is still considered dangerous with updated electronics.
Great platform, loved it for over 20 years. "American Democracy Available for Export", I now see it so differently since I've gotten older. Nothing like corporate strength dictating foreign policy.
This model was designed for South Korea's next fighters contest. S.Korea first chose this model but lots of ex air force generals banned so finally S.KOrea decided to buy F-35 instead. F-15SE is now nowhere on the earth.
No man, they really should have picked the YF-23 with the GE YF-120 Engines. It demolished the raptor in speed and agility. Also the F-22 has the radar from the YF-23.
C. TB I agree but I saw a documentary the reason why it lost was it’s signature when detected by radar that it looked like a spider (kinda weird but cool) but still I agree that the yf-23 should have been put in service instead
Yes, please. Dont forget that AIM-120 can reach 180 km only from stratosphere at counter course and heat only cargo target at the end of trajectory. Do not underestimate Irbis radar. It can see 4 gen fighter at ~400 km. Also take into account electronic combat
If you research and read the article from Boeing on the F-15SE you will find out that the USAF was not courted to purchase these due to the fact Boeing's engineers develop kits to modify the existing fleet. BTW -- the USAF has operated this most awesome bird since Luke AFB went operational in 1975. And I was/am a proud Eagle Maintainer who still has his breath taken away over her!
McDonnel Douglas was the company that actually made the plane until Boeing bought them decades later. That's an impressive amount of modifications/upgrades to an old plane.
If they redesign the inlets, taking away the 90 degree angles, give the engines thrust vectoring slap on some radar absorbent paint, give it delta wings and tail plane with the exact same angle as the new redesigned inlets, we'd have a much cheaper 4.5 generation stealth capable air superiority fighter at a fraction of the cost of a F-22.
Sven Schwingel Someone still has their child on life support and are afraid to cut the plug. I still think it's a feasible idea, still providing jobs. The JSF just has so much riding on it's shoulders, but a single engine fighter air craft based heavily on the F-22 just smaller...IDK...maybe. I just think the United States, trying to retain the tittle of the most advanced Air Force, got caught up in their head and dropped the ball. What solutions could be made? Just steadily work out the kinks?
Are the current F-15 Strike Eagles upgradeable to the F-15 Silent Eagle? If so I can see Boeing outselling the F-35. I could image Japan, Israel, the US and other countries that already have the F-15 in service persuing this option instead of buying the F-35 at a fraction of the cost.
Well, remember. Many said the F-4 could have been upgraded even more, but the Air Force opted for newer aircraft. You can throw as much as you can on it, but in the end, it is still an F-4... F-15SA is badass though.
RedThebigOne SE proved to be too expencive and apparently not perspective enough for Japan and South Korea which apparently were main possible export markets. However they will probably try to sell upgrate package to Israel till F35 comes to the service... eventually.
Fons negentienachtenvijftig Price tag is similar actually, F15SE price with pilot training and equipment is almost 120mil USD per piece. F35 is supposed to be 100-150 depending on version. Point is that they belive F35 will offer much great capabilities so they do not want to invest in F15SE but instead in F35 procurement. South Korea meanwhile decided to buy downgraded subtype of F15SE.
What about sat-nav? How many Air-Bags does it have? Infinity 3D sound systems option while underway to beat SU-35? Fighter of tomorrow designed in 1972, hmmm, moneyback in case?
Better? For what? There is no claim that this is capable of what the F-22 is, they perform a different role. "better" is a stupid word to describe this.
TJace50 The F-22 costs $40 million more, but it is far stealthier and more survivable, has twice the internal payload, and has superior kinematics and agility. The F-15SE is actually quite expensive at $100 million, and it doesn't offer much more than the far less expensive F-15E, really.
+TJace50 The F-22's actual skin is strong, but I'm aware of issues they've had with its top coat. The F-15SE would have similar issues if it even bothered to have stealthy (IR + radar in this case) coatings all over, but we're hardly talking about the same level of stealth here, so instead of having a problem there is instead a lack of capability (on the part of the F-15SE). Besides, the F-22's top coat issue will improve. The last batch of F-22s have upgraded top coats that are far more robust (based on similar technology as the F-35's top coat), and when the USAF get tired of constantly patching the older F-22s' coats, they will eventually find some funding to re-coat them with the newer stuff. Maybe they're waiting for coating technology to improve even farther before doing that, or at least to see how well the newer coatings that are already in use hold up over time (so far so good). In the meantime, the F-22 is still VLO even without its top coat. In fact, its first defeat of an F-15 in mock BVR combat was by an F-22 that had no top coat at all (except for some critical areas, such as the intake S-ducts)--the F-15's pilot actually spotted the F-22 later visually before his fighter picked it up on radar. Now, for full disclosure that F-15 had an older radar, I believe, but still, that's darn good stealth without the top coat.
@engrfka I think you may be a little confused. The F-35 has three varients: F-35A (airforce), F-35B (Army), and F-35C (Navy) the difference between the varients is take off and landing. The airforce varient takes off and lands conventionally, the army varient has STOVL (short take off and landing) capabilities, and the navy varient is designed to take off and land on carriers. All three varients are multirole aircraft which each branch would most likely use slightly different i.e.
This propaganda! All the Sukhois had to do is duck the missile and they are safe! And they would also know the position of the enemy and they also out number them. And the SUs are better dogfighters so it's over for F-15s.
LOL, Sukhois will not know that the missile is launched - that is the characteristics of AIM-120 series - it does not require radar lock on the object to be launched.
LooxGood I know, I worked on the AIM-120 and AIM 12-b Pack 2 Slam or kinetic energy killer, They all require just a initial signature, then its own Radar and telemetry guide it, AIM-120 AMRAMM pack 3 have active heat guidance also for a lock oversight. Pretty intelligent things designed to blow up.
ornan vazquez Oh yeah, duck the missiles. Simple as that. Yes the Sukhoi is a great aircraft. I love 'em. One of the worlds best. But the F-15 has never been defeated in air to air combat. Over 100 kills against zero losses air to air. And those were with 4th generation Eagles far less capable than the Silent Eagle.
LooxGood While they can be fired without an initial radar lock, this will very rarely be used in combat. When you fire it without radar lock, you basically just send it in a given direction, until its own pulse radar picks up a target. Either way at least the homing radar on the AIM-120 will be detectable.
@DarkMaroon2, I agree also, the F-15's will be kept around for some time to come, probably even after the F-35's have been fully integrated. If F-35 costs keep skyrocketing, we may yet see another overhaul of the F-15 similar to the re-designed Super Hornet (fingers crossed). Regardless, the F-15 will always have a proud place in aviation history but the F-35 is the future.
We've deployed our Su-57s in Syria now, kid. Where are your Fail-22 CRaptors now? Btw, China has also announced they will deploy their J-20s to South China Sea. Could those CRaptors match up to the J-20?
Yes, it has Helmet mounted acuity but so do a number of other fighters. You can put those electronics into another airframe and still have that airframe capable of turning at more than 5 or 6 G. The F-35 is slower, less manueverable and carries less than a vietnam era F4. All it has is an electronics suite that could just as easily be fitted to an airframe that can move.
The SA and SE are not as drastically different as you claim. Boeing has and continues to indicate that all of the F-15SE features (including RCS reductions and CVTs) can be retrofitted to any existing F-15E derivative including the F-15SA. The CWBs will certainly interest the Saudis once they become available for production. South Korea will be producing the CWBs which can and will be exported to existing F-15 operators.
This is a good idea. Most competitors of the F-22 can't hold a candle to it's performance but are cheaper and built in larger numbers. Their performance will probably be comparable to that of an F-15 but they have stealth. So give an F-15 stealth and you've got a cheaply built high performance stealth fighter that can also do ground attack missions, and call in the raptors when you need some really heavy artillery.
in fact "ZF Systems" does have an electronic steering system, it was made not for the lightweight pressure on steering wheel, but to improve the cars projects, so the change of UK-Driving Side to US-Driving Side to be only inverting the panel, no mechanical changes needed, All Electric, the steering wheel is just a "joystick", just as the pedals... It's not "fly" by wire, but drive-by-wire...
The guy below me is ignorant of Russia's financial situation. Anyways, if the F-35 buy is reduced, it should be in favor of Silent Eagles with enhanced all-aspect LO. Better payload, better reliability, AND IT'S AN F-15. Proven, powerful, and badass-gorgeous.
I wouldn't say that it is significant less expensive. The Fly away cost for an F-22 is about 150 million, a Silent Eagle is estimated at 100 million a unit fly away cost and that will probably go up. Also the F-35 is meant to be a multi-role strike fighter not an air superiority fighter, so it won't be as good a dog fighter.
I love all the expert opinions that each of these videos produce. Anyone have a sense of avionics, tactics, aerodynamics, training? Thought not. Stick your heads in the video game and make your decisions based on that. A few kind words to the Roooooski's out there ( or their lovers). A). Never drive in Russia B). Never go to an airshow in Russia C). Never drive to an airshow in Russia I don't know about the rest of you but I sooooo want my leader to pose shirtless on a horse!
***** Actually, Dogfighting is still an important part of any air combat scenario. Given the nature of jetfighter air combat (especially necessary airspeeds), opponents will close on each other in a matter of seconds, rendering BVR weapons ineffective. Hence the mixed loadout ... even a 5th-gen Raptor is carrying Sidewinders and has an onboard gatling gun that goes along with the BVR weapons. Also, there might be rules of engagements that could make visual ID mandatory. So yes, climbing, turning and a wide flight envelope are still very important parameters of a fighter aircraft.
"Agility means less and less" On the contrary, agility is vital to the success of a force. We're fighting insurgencies; the most agile force there is. We need to outmaneuver them.
The forum post there ive been most involved in is called F-35 " has the bar been lowered" Basically talks about how the sustained turn rate on the thing has been reduced to around 4.6 g ( about the same as a vietnam era f-4) , its transonic acceloration has been extended a further 43 seconds from .8 to 1.2 mach, all kinds of stuff.
@JohnJam3000 Might I just ask what makes the F-35 so particularly good? It was by 70% designed for air-ground combat and it does not comprise the same kind of stealth characteristics that the F-22 has. It also lacks speed and maneuverability to be considered an air-superiority fighter.
We did not want to sell it to any other country because it is the only full operation superiority stealth fighter and is the stealthiest manned. aircraft in the world. It has been to Red Flag the past 3 years and that is a joint action exercise with allies.
There was an implied timeline in my remark; the Saudis pay for the development of most of the F-15SE (the F-15SA). When that variant is ready the Israelis can place an order and expect deliveries to commence very soon thereafter. The only export license issue for the F-15SE is the RCS reductions which aren't particularly important for the Israelis; the CWBs, FBWS and CVTs are.
Probabily still the most aerodinamyc frame yet in service. This is a heavily underrated boy, wich with the sole help of a full TV engines/nozzles would outperform every f* thing in withing visual range fights. 30 years passed but the banking ability and its ludicrus reliability would probabily kill the whole 5th generation utter failures: give the chance and this thing will obiterate F22 F35 PAK-FA J20 and all those things WICH ARE NOT MEANT TO FLY.
The F-15(SA) is a reality. It is the model that saved the Boeing plants production line. Top of the line fighter, look it up. The F-15(SE), key letter E, has yet to have a customer as its a struggling attempt from Boeing to get another USAF contract.
changes that very well may have taken place changing the f-15c to the f-15e (later into the se) could be reinforcing the planes air frame to improve it's resistance to projectiles. new equipment needed for the air to ground role. these changes are major because it drastically lowers the t/w raito by around 19% from 1:1.12 to 1:.97 the f-15 silent eagle being designed from the e variant will not perform air to air as well as a modernized f-15c.
@Coolins335 I do agree but it will be in service until 2025 I believe, please correct me if i'm wrong, and there still will be upgrades given throughout the years. The Upgrades will most likely be in avioncs though.
Probably the only decent aircraft we'll be able to afford in numbers. It's a good concept. Put the engines from the F-22 in this thing and you'll have one amazing gen 4.5 fighter.
Because stealth isn't a "now you see me, now you don't" invisibility cloak type thing. An aircraft with reduced RCS will be harder to track with radar and get a lock on. This might not matter close-up where heatseekers are used, but it will substantially improve survivability at longer ranges where radar-guided weapons come into play.
@Brandonbigone87 I think you're right. The F-15 is a thing of the past now. It was great for 30 years but against Russia and China's 5th generation fighters it would be blown out of the sky. The F-22, F-35 and UAV are the future for our military.
Well, boeing's bargaining tool is that the F-15SE could turn into a conventional F-15 once the mission's requiring stealth are executed. It seems natural that the conformal feul tanks and spair parts that are included in a F-15SE package will significantly raise the price of the overall purchase.
Canada should sincerely consider this option for replacing our CF-18's. I hope now with the F-35 funds frozen we will be looking at other options, or more specifically, the Silent Eagle.
@Antartnord Su-27s within the Russian VVS are being upgraded to the Su-27SM2 which features some of the same systems on the Su-35 like Radar reduction and the Irbis-E AESA. So yes, stealthy Su-27s are starting to appear.
@Baseshocks ShinShin is an experimental aircraft, not to be used by air forces. It will make a good starting point to develop a 5th gen fighter jet which will take another 5 to 10 years.
@lostend1 I think you may have misunderstood what I meant. I was only saying that the F-35 is more versitile than the F-15. That does not mean the F-35 is better. What really matters with designing new aircraft is potential, and the F-35 has much more of that than the F-15. Most likely in 10 years the F-15 will stop being upgraded just like every other
@junwson As I understand it, its being offered as an alternative to the F-22. This is a more streamlined version, more modern. The israelis have voiced interest in this aircraft, especially since the F-22 was cancelled.
@Ag3nt0fCha0s I've read that the F-16 has already been outclassed by the SU-30MKI and the Rafale. However don't know how the Block-52s and Block-60s would fare against them. What are your thoughts?? The F-15 SEs looks like a pretty neat concept. I like the idea of taking a Gen 4 platform and changing it to make formidable in new and different ways. A lot cheaprer than coming out with the F-22 and F-35...
@DarkMaroon2 Yeah i understand, but i thought that F-35 had it's three variants i.e one for multirole missions, one for air-superiority missions and one for the air-craft carrier i.e for the NAVY, ur point about the cost per unit F-22 is spot on...thanks for informing whoever u are, i appreciate it :)
The advent of the huge (154 new and upgraded airframes) F-15SA order radically changed the equation; the Israelis can let the Saudis bankroll most of SE upgrades and elect to place an order (at reduced per unit cost thanks to higher volume) later and expect deliveries within a year. For the F-35, the Israelis had to order now to secure early delivery slots because they are competing with the US, UK and now Japan for availability on a still maturing line.
I have no idea what it is and it's probably classified anyway, but I'd say that it's smaller than another fighter would be, especially from the front; small enough to give it the element of surprise at long ranges where radar-guided missiles are used. With AWACS support, the F-15SEs could see inbound Sukhois and engage them without having to turn on their own radars. This discussion isn't that relevant though as the F-15SE is a strike fighter and therefore would not be sent up to face Su's.
I like the F-15.Continue with the upgrades!
The USAF should buy the F-15SE to reduce cost.
ScullBayProductions they still cost 100 mi each unit.
Jonatas Nogueira compared to other aircraft we’ve bought and the multi billion dollar budget the air force has 100 mil isn’t that much.
F-35 Lightning II still cheaper than F-15SE, that's why South Korea choose F-35
The F-35B’s costs are closer to $125M per aircraft making the F-15SE the better bargain plus you get two engines compared to a single engine on the F-35B.
@@SparksofOhio The F-35B cost the most of the 3 versions. The F-35A is the cheapest, and is cheaper than the F-15SE. If their was enough interest in the F-15SE, it's price could come down.
Thumbs up! Let's rock and roll with the F-15 Silent Eagle!
150- 0. A proven technology is better than one yet to be tested.
Wow, the stuff of my dreams. The stealthy and advanced stuff of the F-22 combined with the sleek, beautiful, graceful lines and lethality of the F-15. LEGEND

You really didn't make a point, you just whined about how you didn't like my point. There was no point to comprehend.
Stupidity is relative.

Tons of people say the F-15/F-22 are shit planes. Then why are other countries copying them?
I have never seen a copy of the F-15 or F-22 by any country, ive seen plans that look pretty copyish but never seen an actual copy. Although the F-15 is a formidable airplane im not so sure about the F-22.
You mean PAK-FA? Too bad, dude, it's not F-22 copy, it's more like YF-23 with thrust vectoring but still not a copy of anything.

What the Pak-FA is... a piece of crap that isn't even a stealth aircraft. Those conventional engine intakes, they ought to put a big bullseye on the back.

+Preston Trotter the MBDA Meteor is basically the new Phoenix, and it can be carried by any compatible fighter.

Sylwia Zielinski were you there at red flag or observed these supposed kills yourself or do believe the busllshit that India said about their Su-30?
no
An Su35 would be shoot down by an f-18 easy because F-18 can see futher with it's radar.
Sylwia Zielinski F1SE is stealth variant from the F15 therefore the Su-35 has a very big disadvantage plus your radar doesn't have the range the AESA has and also your AMRAAM equivalent is a little bit behind the actual AMRAAM
I would have chosen F15 silent eagle over F35, it is perfect platform for dogfights.

thats because its being sold for export as well, and Boeing has to meet a certain requirement for stealth, i was reading a article from 2010 a boing spoke person said the stealth configuration could be increased for US deployment if needed.
I don't understand why they went with Lockheed Martin's design, the F-15 is a well proven airframe with a flawless combat record. Add in stealth technology, it could potentially become the greatest killing machine in the skies!
+SuperBluefire1 Its called the game of LOBBYING AND CORRUPTION !

+Ed Majden I believe it was the x-32 you are referring to? The competitor to the f-35 prototype (x-35)?
Peter Tran
The F22 is actually a stealth F15 with thrust vectoring and internal weapons bay.
Stealth technology can't simply be added, at least if you want very low observability (VLO). No, the F-15SE does not achieve this, even with the internal carriage of weapons only.
Many of you people wondering what AESA radar is F-15SE Silent Eagle is using? The answer is the APG-82 v 1 combine from APG-79 use by F-18E/F Super Hornet Block 2 and APG-63 v 3 use by F-15SG (Singapore) / F-15C Eagle.
put thrust vectoring on the SE and top of line avionics and you have an affordable killing machine.
The F-35 is less expensive, though.
Sylwia Zielinski
Sorry, Sylwia.
Some of my takes:
Nice talking to you!
WOW! This is REALLY LIKE an F-15 you've not SEEN BEFORE! 5 Stars!
Is there any single example of a Sukhoi, any version, shooting down an F-15, any version, EVER?
bluesky I repeat, How many sukhoi 27s any version have been shot down?
Right.
Great platform, loved it for over 20 years. "American Democracy Available for Export", I now see it so differently since I've gotten older. Nothing like corporate strength dictating foreign policy.
how about they work on a10 too?
This model was designed for South Korea's next fighters contest. S.Korea first chose this model but lots of ex air force generals banned so finally S.KOrea decided to buy F-35 instead. F-15SE is now nowhere on the earth.
Your Generals are fools. The F15 Silent Eagle is a MUCH better fighter.
Need engines from F-22 for super-cruise and vector-thrusting.
The pratt and whitney that the eagles use has more thrust and reliability
No man, they really should have picked the YF-23 with the GE YF-120 Engines. It demolished the raptor in speed and agility. Also the F-22 has the radar from the YF-23.
C. TB I agree but I saw a documentary the reason why it lost was it’s signature when detected by radar that it looked like a spider (kinda weird but cool) but still I agree that the yf-23 should have been put in service instead

And I was/am a proud Eagle Maintainer who still has his breath taken away over her!
disable the sound and it becomes incredibly silent!
Adding all these features will make the price similar to the F-22
mogybear94 Yeah, maybe so. How about a single engine version of the F-22? Kinda like how the F-16 was to the F-15.
Montrez Rambo
That's what the JSF is aimed at. But cost-wise, they fucked that one up pretty good.
Montrez Rambo US produces F35 instead of F22 - that means they don't need any air superiority fighter. They need multi-role fighter!
Silent because nobody is buying.
Unfortunately.
ouch....but they should be.
Well, remember. Many said the F-4 could have been upgraded even more, but the Air Force opted for newer aircraft. You can throw as much as you can on it, but in the end, it is still an F-4...

BS. The SE is MUCH cheaper than the F35.
This is a better option than the ridiculously expensive f22
Better? For what? There is no claim that this is capable of what the F-22 is, they perform a different role. "better" is a stupid word to describe this.
TJace50 The F-22 costs $40 million more, but it is far stealthier and more survivable, has twice the internal payload, and has superior kinematics and agility. The F-15SE is actually quite expensive at $100 million, and it doesn't offer much more than the far less expensive F-15E, really.
no we def need the f22 in the future
rbrtck do you know how fragile the f22's skin is?

Romgify your fuckn nuts ivan'; a fuckn F16 can tack out a fuckn su27
Yes it is
Yes, it has Helmet mounted acuity but so do a number of other fighters.
South Korea will be producing the CWBs which can and will be exported to existing F-15 operators.
bad ass plane..this will be real good considering how good the original was
This is a good idea.
This new f15 is the best ! :D
The f-15 is still a beast of a plane.
The F-15 has the byfar the best kill ratio in history! Some 115 aircraft kills to 0 losses from enemy aircraft!
I love all the expert opinions that each of these videos produce. Anyone have a sense of avionics, tactics, aerodynamics, training? Thought not. Stick your heads in the video game and make your decisions based on that.

Actually, Dogfighting is still an important part of any air combat scenario.
"Agility means less and less"
On the contrary, agility is vital to the success of a force. We're fighting insurgencies; the most agile force there is. We need to outmaneuver them.
Now thats what Im talking about, upgrading our current designs/inventory.
The forum post there ive been most involved in is called F-35 " has the bar been lowered"
Basically talks about how the sustained turn rate on the thing has been reduced to around 4.6 g ( about the same as a vietnam era f-4) , its transonic acceloration has been extended a further 43 seconds from .8 to 1.2 mach, all kinds of stuff.
Seems to be one my Top fighters on my list.
The F-15(SE), key letter E, has yet to have a customer as its a struggling attempt from Boeing to get another USAF contract.
changes that very well may have taken place changing the f-15c to the f-15e (later into the se) could be reinforcing the planes air frame to improve it's resistance to projectiles. new equipment needed for the air to ground role.
these changes are major because it drastically lowers the t/w raito by around 19% from 1:1.12 to 1:.97
the f-15 silent eagle being designed from the e variant will not perform air to air as well as a modernized f-15c.
The Philippines should buy this in the late 2010s or early 2020s.
I hope now with the
F-35 funds frozen we will be looking at other options, or more specifically, the Silent Eagle.
This seems to be more worth it than the F-35. In my opinion, it could be a good competitor to the SU-35, MiG-35, Rafael, JAS-39 Gripen, and others.
@Antartnord Su-27s within the Russian VVS are being upgraded to the Su-27SM2 which features some of the same systems on the Su-35 like Radar reduction and the Irbis-E AESA. So yes, stealthy Su-27s are starting to appear.
Interesting to see if it is going to make it through all the defence budget cuts you guys over there are copping.
@Ag3nt0fCha0s
I've read that the F-16 has already been outclassed by the SU-30MKI and the Rafale.
What about thrust vectoring. Especially 3-d thrust vectoring like the new Russian SU-37. I am not an engineer but i am just wondering.
@lb8068 I know it is cancelled but it certainly is NOT out of service. Pilots are still being trained in it every day.
I love F 15 so much.
