wen DCS F-15SE dlc? The engineering is really impressive in what they've done on that frame. Very very value add. airbrake @ 6:50 is fun to watch. I need to get that timing down with the 3° ILS glideslope (getting better at using the ILS!)
At least some of the planes shown in this video are converted from regular F-15's. You can tell by the tailfins. If the tailfins are vertical, then they are conversions, if they are canted, like those of the F-35, then they are built from the ground up to be Silent Eagles. You lose the advantages of the canted tailfins, with a conversion, but it allows current operators of the F-15 to upgrade their squadrons with stealth capability, at a lower expense than replacing them. The Strike Eagle is not a good candidate for conversion, though. All of the additional weapons hanging off of the undercarriage, increase the radar signature to the point where adding stealth to the fuselage is cancelled out, so no benefit is to be gained from it. The Air Force would normally send in stealth aircraft ahead of the Strike Eagles, to take out enemy radars, to protect them from being detected, anyway.
The stealth Eagle you see in the video is actually F-15E-1 that’s the first E model. I worked on that plane when it was brand new until it delivered then years later we went to Edwards AFB to do a receiving inspection on that plane then it flew back to the plant in St.Louis and was used for flight test and as a chase bird for the newer planes it is now in Tucson at Davis Monthan AFB Boneyard. F-15E-1 was converted to be a Stealth Eagle with the canted verticals for show only it didn’t fly with them canted it did fly with the special CFT’s and fired some missiles. Normal F-15’s verticals are straight up not canted. No Silent Eagles were never made or delivered.
This video speaks of the Silent Eagle as if it exists. It does not. It was merely a proposed project from Boeing but it was never adopted by the USAF. Only one prototype was ever produced and no other models exist as there was no further production.
It's fascinating, but it would never find a market. It is FAR too expensive for what it is. It has a very specific and limited role. And for that, there's just better choices for less money. The F-35 is far better at the same job, cheaper and can be used in far more roles. And the F-15SE isn't stealthy enough for deep penetration like the F-35. And even then, and surprisingly Israel didn't want to send the F-35 into Iran. As much as I think the F-15SE is cool, and it is, imo the idea should have been canned before they built a prototype once they realised the unit cost. For the cost, the same company would have been better of resurrecting the YF-23 but they wouldn't have been able to export that. Now that was a tragedy. Imo the YF-23 is BEST looking fighter period, with apparently an even lower RCS than the YF-22 at the time.
Awesome and still undefeated in combat!
F15 is the coolest of all planes

6:10 It's interesting to me that a video talking about Stealth capabilities show a formation that appears to be featuring F4 Phantoms.
The editing is sloppy for sure lol
There was F-15’s in that view along with those F-4’s.
Great video 👍👍
Thank you 👍

Nice!
Even with its limited stealthiness it could still get 25-50 miles closer before being outed .
This is the plane we should be providing to Taiwan
Absolutely, the us should also be replacing current F-15 models with this upgraded version.
Well, selling to them

What’s it armed with?
As good as it may be I don't understand why they would invest in the F 15 when that money could be spent on improving the F 35?
Because Boeing doesn't own the F-35. Why would they pay to upgrade a competitors plane?
@@gamewizard1760 I meant the government investing.
@@Neil-Aspinallf-15 is cheaper to produce and maintain than f-35. Which means quantity > quality when it comes to potential adversaries
How do they clean wash them on ground, secrets mr clean
The paint is easliy peel off just like the f22.
