      What decency? She's knowingly assisting in usurping Rhaenyra....a woman who has done absolutely nothing to her.
      Alicent knowingly married Viserys with the thought of placing Hightower blood on the iron throne. Rhaenyra was her best friend.....and she marries her besties father without her bestie knowing about any kind of relationship between the two?! If that isn't nasty, I don't know what is. That's decency?
      Cersei Lannister is leagues about Alicent because Cersei could at least be honest with herself. She knew who she was. Alicent hides behind decency and sacrifice without looking in the mirror and understanding she had her own part to play in this. All out of spite and jealousy, again, towards a best friend that has done absolutely NOTHING to her.
      She's a hypocritical religious zealot. No more. No less.

      @@hazeinheavenI’m assuming you’re referring to the Blood and Cheese incident. If so, it’s because Daemon declared “a son for a son” after Luke died, and prior to this, there wasn’t any indication in the books that Daemon wanted to harm the twins, or that Viserys stopped him. The show does a good job of portraying Alicent in a sympathetic light - you yourself mentioned that she was paranoid for her children. In the books, no indication of such paranoia existed to my recollection. There isn’t enough evidence to suggest Alicent didn’t crown Aegon due to greed. Regardless of motive, the catalyst for the Dance of the Dragons is still arguably her. If the dance didn’t start, Lucerys wouldn’t have died, and the Blood and Cheese incident most likely wouldn’t have occurred, and Aegon’s children may still have lived to adulthood.

She was angry and sad, because her children were being dismissed by their own father. But when Cole insults Rhaenyra? Alicent is dissapointed with him. • @janellejulianajoy
      @janellejulianajoy 2 месяца назад +9

      Huh? Their friendship was tarnished the moment she walked into that pre-wedding celebration with the green dress on. Alicent was knowingly calling those boys bastards long before Aemond's eye was taken. There would be NO animosity between these kids if she hadn't filled their heads with hatred. Rhaenyra didn't reach her kids to hate or fear, but Alicent did.
      Alicent, Otto, etc, made Rhaenyra and her children's lives hell for years before she left and moved to dragonstone. Spreading rumors, etc. The heir apparent moved because the petty queen chose to remain in the bubble of misery her own father placed her in. She's mad because Rhaenyra made the best of her situation as she too didn't choose her own husband. Is it Rhaenyra's fault Otto chose to pimp his daughter off to a man who could never truly love her?
      I'm sorry...but I just cannot stomach this woman. I do agree with Alicent's reaction to Aemond losing an eye, (personally I would've slapped Luke) and an apology should've been given, however, that animosity is what she taught her own children to have.

      Rhaenyra was told that her sons were attacked by Aemond, and she could see that they were also badly hurt, Aemond was a boy twice their age and size, and if he had tried to strangle a 5 year old, obviously they would need to defend themselves. From Rhaenyra's perspective, both the boys had harmed each other badly. Yes, a broken nose is as bad as a lost eye, the kid could probably breathe at half the normal capacity if it was severe. The damages were done and there was no point in apologizing. But Alicent was blinder than Aemond and attacked Lucerys, a 5 year old and would've killed him if Rhaenyra hadn't intercepted her attack.

    It's funny how Alicent said dhe was surprised that Rhaenyra's sons were able to hatch their eggs, but it's not the titles or being true born that makes it work. Did she forget that her own children are only half Targaryen like Rhaenyra's? If anything, Rhaenyra's sons have a hair more Targaryen blood than Alicent's since Rhaenyra's mother was of Targaryen blood from her mother, whom was Viserys's cousin while Alicent didn't have a drop of Targaryen blood. Being a bastard has nothing to do with the bond with a dragon. Plus, only two of her children were able to hatch a dragon while the others had to win their dragons. At the time, Aemond didn't even have a dragon. I really don't understand her logic.

      Thats the most retarted concept I have ever seen. Allow me to explain it to you.
      Alicent has absolutely no idea how the Targaryen Dragons work. She has no idea how Bonding works or anything of the sorts. Alicent is deeply religious ans the Faith of the 7 looks down on bastards, so she thinks that Bastards wont be able to bond with dragons.
      Rhaenyra has only 75% Targaryen Blood due to Aemma being half-Arryn. Her children however have less Targaryen Blood than they do, having only 35% because they're also the bastards of Harwin.
      Alicents children have 50% Targaryen Blood, so almsot has much has Rhaenyra has and alot more than her bastards have.

      @P G Not really. Alicent has no Targaryen blood. Only one parent of her children did. Harwin Strong had no Targaryen blood, with one of the boy's parents having Targaryen blood. Both sides had one parent with and one without so have equal blood. Literally the only difference is that look wise, the three sons of Rhaenyra were stronger in their father's blood, just like Laenor and Laena with their father. By how Alicent was seeing it, looks make someone more than actual bloodlines. Being bastards had absolutely nothing to do with whether a dragon will hatch or not.

      @@bleedingstar0398 It was actually common to present the child to the queen and king. Though of course the mother wouldn't bring them. And especially when there is suspicion of the child being illegitimate or that it could be exchanged, then it is done directly after birth.
      I understand Rhaenyra didn't want to be separated from her child. I would have answered, the princess is too exhausted to bring the child, but eagerly awaiting the queen in her quaters. Problem solved. 🤷‍♀️

      It was Rhaenyra who gave birth to bastards and tried to give them Driftmark and the Throne. The same thing Cersei did with her filthy bastards. All Alicent did was stay loyal to the Traditions of Westeros which have been followed for 1000s of years and protect her family.
