    Sorry the ride was canceled. Thanks for taking the time to show the equipment. Many memories of assembling the plows, field cultivator, and #5 pickers. While cleaning up an old tool box recently I came across a few of the Oliver keystone stickers that came with implements that needed to be assembled. Might need to send them to you! The wheel rake was made by Darf for several manufacturers. Assembled both Oliver and New Idea versions.

When I was a young boy back in the early 70's our landlord had his equipment to get the ground we had to use his equipment and that meant we had to use his two row Oliver ear corn picker the lucky part for dad at least he got to use his own tractor which was a 1080 MF I had to use the landlords tractors and old corn auger and fill two old corn bins a MH 44 and an old farmall M trust me he got the better end of the deal. That and a 1850 Oliver tractor I bought as an adult were the only Oliver's we had on the farm and a 5100 white planter but I always liked them you are doing great with your channel enjoy every video

    Super 88 -- you really should do some body work, straighten the side panels and paint it. I really like that tractor. I have this thing about things that were built in 1955. We talked about the Ford Jubilee at the fair, it was built the year of my birth. My Uncle Claude used to restore these as a profession. I would really like to see you go all the way with that little thing. Love the ear corn picker and box and the Minnie-Mo Harvestor. Have watched this video several times.

    That cutter bar mower, that's what I commented on the other video you posted. Maybe this would be a good winter project, provided you had a shed with heat to work on it in. If you're like me, everything is done outside in the elements lol, still get the job done though. Oh man, that crimper reminds me of the one I had, rubber on metal though. Worked better than what people think they do. I believe mine was a woods, can't remember, sold it.

    Enjoyed seeing the 66. My grandfather had a Row Crop 66 just like yours although his had factory diamond plate step plates on the left axle for easy access for the driver. I remember him(70s/early80s) having an Oliver sickle bar mower for it that was not technically a pull type mower nor was it 3 point hitch because like yours the 66 did not have 3 point hitch. It fastened(I think) directly to the draw bar cradle by some kind of proprietary hitch that Oliver made. It had what I would call "dolly" wheels or 360 degree swivel wheels on the back of the mower. I'm trying to remember this from nearly 40 years ago.

Now we mostly Deere one New Holland, and an IH 1650 garden tractor on the farm. The MF 165 is the tractor that would be the last to go on this farm. Any advantage to Oliver having the unloading auger swing forward instead of backward like other brands at that time that made combines?

    • @rosstheoliverman
      @rosstheoliverman  Год назад +1

    I had to laugh about the auction tag comment…..I’d hate to look to see how many of our pieces have the tag yet.

    My dad has a hay crimper like that but it's rubber on steel rolls. It was my grandpa's and I don't remember seeing another one in our area so it a piece I don't want to let get away. I would like to find an oliver mower with a hitch to hook it to. I bought a tractor that came with an 82 mower but the mower doesn't have a hitch. I need to keep my eyes open for a parts machine that has a hitch maybe

      It’s probably a 137 if it has rubber. I think they’re kind of neat because a lot of them got scrapped.

      @rosstheoliverman we haven't used it for over 15 years. The nice thing is you can store them with the hitch up in the air so they don't take up much room. It has white wheels so I'm guessing it's from the 3 digit Era? I was thinking about digging it out this year to try it out but I didn't have time. Maybe next year 😆

    Ross, you mentioned something about a garden tractor at the 47 minute mark. Other than that Sears rig you brought home, do you have any garden tractors in your collection? Big Cub Cadet fan here 🙂
