I used it with Tretinoin in my routine as prescribed by my dermatologist. It was about a pea size, once a week. Three months later my doctor was like "you are getting too white, we are going to stop it" 😅. buuuuuut you should only use it under medical advice. That shit can make some horrible things beyond the rebound hyperpigmentation...

Omgosh hydroquinone is no joke. That changed my skin care game to the max. I use twyneo (benzoyl peroxide + tretinoin) 15% azeliac acid and hydroquinone!! Best skin care regimen ever! 🎉
I have been using Hydroquinone for the past two months and I'm going to stop it gradually in the upcoming weeks. So the thing is I'm afraid of a rebound of pigmentation. Under a doctor's supervision. It is safe. Can only be used upto 2 months i think.. then you must take a break. Otherwise it can worsen hyperpigmentation. Also, don't buy the cheap ones in Indian market.. Always get it prescribed from doctor. If you're too scared to try hydroquinone then use alpha arbutin, niacinamide and tretinoin.. they worked for me
I'm black and i've tried hydroquinone for a week or two, i couldn't sit on my butt for a whole month it burned oike hell... And my butt turned out to be darker than the darkest nigga you've ever found... All i wanted was an even skin tone 😢 ...
Oh dear. That's awful. I used it above an eyebrow on tougher skin than a soft bottom. I'm Italian descent so medium to light-ish skin color. Tanned too much and ended up with discolored big patch, which to me looked very obvious. The hydroquinone worked for me - long time ago so can't remember how long I used it but like you I found it could burn if left on too long. I learned to be careful with use and the discoloration disappeared completely & never came back - this was 30 years ago. Maybe don't worry about your butt, nobody cares what color it is. And if they do then get rid of them. LOL!

It reduces most of my scars in 15days and i stop after scars almost fade away. Usually this happens once a year. This combo makes your skin the worst before it makes it the best. You need to be careful with it. P.S. I am a Doctor.
The way to a good and healthy skin is using products that have less actives but a gof gentle facewash, sooting toner and a moisturizer. That's it and yeah a serum or treatment for skin concern
2% Hydroquinone does't work for me at all! Alpha arbutin takes a loooooooong time for me to see the progress. Kojic acid works better for my skin and I can see the progress steadily within three weeks. It depends on everyone's skin for sure.
Does retinol _indirectly_ brighten by increasing the rate of skin cell turnover giving the melanocytes less time to deposit melanin into the skin? Or does it _directly_ brighten by inhibiting the tyrosinase enzymes or stopping the melanocytes from producing melanin? I know about Kojic acid, Alpha Arbutin and Hydroquinone being tyrosinase inhibitors. I didn’t know retinol is a tyrosinase inhibitor(?) I just thought it passively/indirectly brightens do to increasing the skin turnover.

My skin's dark and I tried a lot of stuff, also because of my skin picking disorder I was going through a nightmare for many years. This formula just worked so freaking fast that I watched good results within 2 days of application. Now my face and armpits look way more brighter!! ❤ Just make sure you moisturize those areas daily if u don't want your skin to burn badly.
I love these videos!😂😂😂😂 The funniest derm on the Internet hands-down. Dr Idriss is an inspiration.❤
Note to self… always have my notebook & pen ready when watching Dr Idriss’s videos lol 😊
Alpha arbutin rlly did it for me also it didnt irritate my skin but obviously you will still need to use it consistently
This is excellent! Deserves an Oscar from you tube!
Thank you! Making retinol and kojic acid the core of my skincare routine
To be clear this is a silly trend video and is kind of only fully understandable by people that watch her long form videos. She loves vitamin c so putting it last here might seem like she doesn't like it but thats not the case. Also, she has gone deep into how to best use all of these ingredients. She is very thorough in my opinion in mentioning every skin color and type and possible outcome.
Bad ass presentation👏👏👏❤yes!
No azelaic and no tranexamic?
coz topical txa is mid
Tran doesn't work and I regret buying it for years
I think they are good as maintenance
They are more for maintenance. They are not powerhouse
I love this woman!!!!❤❤❤❤
I can easily guess your first choice from all your shorts videos 🤣
She’s the coolest dermatologist EVERRRR ❤❤
I sell 4% Hydroquinone for melasma, but I prefer Alpha Arbutin because it is safer to use during the summer.
This is hilariously and ingeniously put together 😂
Alpha Arbutin is the second one ❤
I kinda was thinking SPF would be first but technically that's a product not an ingredient
❤ ur creativity 😂 & sold info so well done Thank you
What about 4-butyl resorcinol, arbutin, azelaic acid and tranexamic acid???
Hahaha l knew l was hearing Abby..brilliant Dr Idriss..❤
Can you make product recommendations for the top three ingredients?
Jesus loves you so much more than you think repent and stay blessed
OMG, you are the best. Love your videos. Keep them coming. 🙏🏻🥰💕
Lol I was waiting for tranexamic acid 😳
Jesus loves you so much more than you think repent and stay blessed
I loveeeee this! Informative and funny! ❤️
I wanna hear your experience about hydroquinone. Does it occurred any rebound hyper pigmentation??
@@Najneen99 in my case it didn't, but I was getting medical check ups every month, and nearly used it about a dozen times in total. It can mess up the color and texture of the skin, causing ochronosis exogenous (you can look it up) Poc have to be extra careful about it.
But some people says that we can use tretinoin forever 😅
What percentage of hydroquinone were u using?
Omgosh hydroquinone is no joke. That changed my skin care game to the max. I use twyneo (benzoyl peroxide + tretinoin) 15% azeliac acid and hydroquinone!! Best skin care regimen ever! 🎉
Niacinamide?
Yeah, I thought niacinamide brightens skin 🤔
I wondered the same thing
I dont know about brighten but I have acne since I was in my teens and always breakout . But now I dont since I am using naincinemide
It did absolutely nothing for my skin.😢
@@racheladkins578how long have you been using it?
She's adorable ❤
Its been a long time since i watch dance moms. It was great.
Watch it again
I have been using Hydroquinone for the past two months and I'm going to stop it gradually in the upcoming weeks. So the thing is I'm afraid of a rebound of pigmentation. Please give me some ideas if you have any idea about how to tackle it like what actives can be used to prevent rebounding. Anyone who used Hydroquinone?
Azelaic acid? Transaxemic acid? Licorice root?
I had terrible melaama from pregnancy in my darly 30's before i started using sun screen. The thing that finally worked for me was introducing EUK 134 into my routine. Now, I rotate between tretinoin, glycolic acid and EUK nightly and use l-ascorbic acid daily. The sun spots and melasma are 90% gone now!
Vitamin C and papaya extract work best for me
Hahahah you are awesome! (Duuuh) 😁 Thanks for educating all of us nerds 😊 All the best, Denmark 🇩🇰
Papaya extract is safe for use this way? I am quite surprised that licorice root didn’t make the pyramid. And I really believed SPF was going to be the number 1 😅
what is licorice root good for? and in what form? I love drinking the tea because it tastes so good
I thought we should avoid lightening agents like hydroquinone
she is a dermatologist and as a practicing doctor her concerns for her patients are different. I think we should not demonise it
It should only be used under doctor's supervision in my country (Indonesia).
Under a doctor's supervision. It is safe. Can only be used upto 2 months i think.. then you must take a break. Otherwise it can worsen hyperpigmentation. Also, don't buy the cheap ones in Indian market.. Always get it prescribed from doctor.
If you're too scared to try hydroquinone then use alpha arbutin, niacinamide and tretinoin.. they worked for me
Is safe to use up to 4%
Another video about top moisterizer ingredient pls
which one should i use for dark circles
Aww this brought me back to when I was younger coming home from school and watching DM, and yes Maddie was so good ❤
I'm black and i've tried hydroquinone for a week or two, i couldn't sit on my butt for a whole month it burned oike hell... And my butt turned out to be darker than the darkest nigga you've ever found... All i wanted was an even skin tone 😢 ...
As a dark nigga this kind of heart 😂
Bro isn’t hydroquinone what they put in bleaching cream?!
@@tunzlunzyup, that’s the one. It’s banned in Europe.
@@Lillyswords omg!
LOL!
What about tranexamic acid or azelaic acid?
When using retinol, use it carefully. Sometimes it does not suit. I tried it a few weeks ago. A little amount, it causes an allergic reaction. So, it's a no for me. Vitamin C is great to me.
What about glutathione?
Nobody seems interested in talking about this ingredient. I'm curious too!
Glyclolic acid works best for me as a brightning and exfoliating agent. Using it on small parcentage.
Hydroquinone might be the at first rank but it's not safe & controversial. Go for arbutin, kojic acid instead
Remember though she's the board certified dermatologist
@@brooke9225 and also remember there are other board certified dermatologist who doesn't recommend this. FDA prefers to avoid it
@@hellostranger2012 I've never heard of a board certified derm not recommending it. But at the end of the day she's the expert not you so it's best not to give advice you know nothing about
@@brooke9225 really ?then its your problem that you are unaware. all the best. educate yourself before poking your nose into every matter
Hmm.. Interesting.Been wanting to try Hydroquinone for my hyperpigmentation but was unsure of if.~Tyssm❤
I have a product that contains vitamin c , arbutin and kojic acid together 😋❤️
which product?
Please name the product
I think we need the name of that product!
Supra fade by HUE is hands down the best and only product that worked to significantly reduce my hyperpigmentation! And started working within 2 weeks! For me hydroquinone just didnt work. Niacinimide also worked but not as well so i pair thag with the supra fade and 👌
What about Azelaic acid??
I think it's not that good. I used it for like 6 months and no results
@@dubb3292unfortunately, prescription azelaic acid is preferable.
@@dubb3292 we’re u wearing sunscreen
Azelaic acid only penetrates the skin by so much. So something like a 20% rx of azelaic acid would only give you maybe 4-5% in the end because of its inability to penetrate 🤷♀️ that’s why higher % AA are preferential but not very cosmetically elegant at the same time
it's decent for pih, but there are a lot of better ingredients for overall brightening, since AA only targets abnormal melanocytes.
This is my fav video of hers
I was using vitamin c serum+ moisturizer for a while and I started getting so many compliments on my skin for my skin tone being very even and bright it definitely worked on me
Which brand
Jesus loves you so much more than you think repent and stay blessed
Which brand
Vitamin C and retinoid are awesome for brown skin
What about gluthanione?!?
Banned, just like hydroquinone in a lot of places. Both are skin bleachers and can have a lot of side effects.
@@teoleno4019 it's not banned where I'm from btw isnt it an antioxidant supplement that we all need in our body? Dont quote me on it but I'm pretty sure theres nothing illegal about it
Love this video 🥰🥰🥰
That’s not fair. We can’t use Hydroquinone anymore
I love Vit c and arbutin. ❤
Have been using hydroquinone retinol combination (suggested by my dermatologist) for when ever i get scars since 5years now. It reduces most of my scars in 15days and i stop after scars almost fade away. Usually this happens once a year. This combo makes your skin the worst before it makes it the best. You need to be careful with it.
P.S. I am a Doctor.
Its makes your skin good . So how it can make skin worst , i mean what are the precautions?
Oh dear. I'm just a lawyer so I hesitate to give a doctor advice but perhaps you should avoid whatever is giving you all these scars. Just saying.
So which cream did you use that contained kojic acid?
Yes, would love to have a recommendation 😊
So which hydroquinone product should i buy as soap or lotion or cream?
Wait isnt number 1 dangerous?!?!?
I use a serum which has vit c and alpha arbutin both in it.
No niacinamide?:(
Does retinol _indirectly_ brighten by increasing the rate of skin cell turnover giving the melanocytes less time to deposit melanin into the skin?
Or does it _directly_ brighten by inhibiting the tyrosinase enzymes or stopping the melanocytes from producing melanin?
I know about Kojic acid, Alpha Arbutin and Hydroquinone being tyrosinase inhibitors. I didn’t know retinol is a tyrosinase inhibitor(?) I just thought it passively/indirectly brightens do to increasing the skin turnover.
Lactic acid is on the top for me then following is azalaic acid for me
