Having the book myself, here's a few things I'd like to add: 1. I think the Dungeon Side view is to give a idea of the scale. The book itself says that there's a lot of things you can add to the Labyrinth, but that side view is to give an idea of how deeply hidden away, for example, Dreta Phantas is compared to the Throne of Darkness. 2. The 5E 'Changes to Inanimate Matter' section seems to be the same as Cypher. The 'Raw Chaos' section has some WIS (15) and CON (15) saves , each giving a separate 4d10 Force damage. if you keep touching the stuff, DC goes up by 1 for each round, after three it is a DC 20. I really appreciate you mentioning it probably would be Void Magic in ToV, as that combo is how I intend to run Ptolus in the future! Having the book myself, I can just read it, but possible videos that could raise interest in other's could be Ghul's Labyrinth and the Banewarrens, and how they lend themselves for just about any other dungeon to be dropped in there. Personally I would love a video on how you are running Ptolus and ToV, for example the Stonelost Dwarves are clearly a great case for the Diasphora Heritage, or how you'd adapt the 5E subclasses to ToV, but I realize that that video would basically just be for me, ahahahaha. Love the channel and content, keep going strong!
This city setting just keeps sounding better and better. Price tag for a physical copy is still insane but seems like you're getting good value out of it.
Monte is listed as the main writer because Ptolus is the city he created for the playtest of D&D 3E. He ran at least two simultaneous campaigns in it and kept expanding the city according to the events that transpired in those campaigns. Even the name of the city is a homage to PC involved in a previous campaign also set on Praemal. He told the story in a sort of podcast he made in his channel with Sean Reynolds and Bruce Cordell. Now I have a question. If one were to make a campaign set in Ptolus but have the player characters be from elsewhere so we get to discover the city together and I don't have to swalllow a lot of lore to dump on them before the first session, what would you recommend as an entry point to the city? I was planning to use the adventures included in the book but the first one logically assumes the PCs are already in the city. My idea was to start with a mini adventure (probably including some goblins) that gets them together in their way to the Big City they heard so much about. But I'm stuck at how to connect that intro to the "we're strolling about and a lady screams nearby" proposed by the "The Murderer's Trail".
Hey I have a video on this question exactly. But in short, there is a section in the city called Delvers Square, which is basically a hub in the city. Delvers square functions a bit like a village that has about everything, but instead of there being wilderness around the village, there is an entire city. So don't approach the city as a place they reside, but more as the adventuring area. Delver's Square is very well fleshed out, but totally not overwhelming. Especially with the handouts, it's pretty well done. From there you can have them go on adventures. I am running the Rune blood Blessing from the book; Potlus: City of Adventure. Hope that helps.
@@MrTarrasque I've watched that video it's a really good one. But that's already inside the city. What I'm missing is the path of breadcrumbs that goes from somewhere outside the city to the start of Murderer's Trail, that's I only thing I couldn't find in the book yet. It seems to me like if they were to go through Delver's Square first they would already be after another quest. And I wanted to make the first sight of Ptolus something special.

Agreed! It's a great price for an adventure by two great authors.
@@mohnkern You get two adventures ;)

Thanks! I've been doing videos on my game in Ptolus.
Ptolus is an amazing city setting, I've been looking for an excuse to run something in that setting.
Fun! That's the only excuse you need.
@@MrTarrasqueand time :). Already running four campaigns plus a stack of one offs

Purchase price / hours spent using it = actual price tag
@@MrTarrasque Sound math to work with.
