This is beautiful!!!! But, OMG, if it were here in the US, I would have bought it as you had originally painted it, you are so talented!!! I am currently working on a cheap grandmother sized clock. I am trying to paint it based upon your absolutely gorgeous, Gold Leafed Granite and Duck Egg Blue, armoire. I fell in love watching you redo that one, I decided that is exactly the colors I wanted this clock of mine to be. I have been trying to decide the colors I wanted for this clock, for like 6 yrs....YES, I am a PROCRASTENATOR, when I am afraid of the out come of anything creative I do!!! It's a pure wonder I get anything done...🤣🤣🤣🤣😉
Hahahaha, your comment made me laugh out loud. I'm so curious how your clock will turn out! So glad that my video was an inspiration to you. I hope you'll have lot of fun painting it...!! :)
@@New_Renaissance I do have a question, Please!!! On my clock, I had planned to use gold leaf (papers) another reason I zoned in on your beautifully done project. I have both the paper and the tube of paste/gel (whichever it is). After watching this black cabinet redone...I'm at a stand off with which gold to use...imagine that!!! If you were to do your armoire again, would you still use the paper, or the paste...Or do you think there is definitely a place for both and it's strictly dependent on the out come of the project? How do you decide when to use one vs. the other? I'm almost done with the painting...it's turning out fairly nice so far!!! Thank you so much for these very helpful tips you share with the community!!! Lisa
@@lisabroussardjanuska6774 I think that gold leaf looks a bit more authentic than gilding wax and it's a bit shinier too. Gilding wax on the other hand is easier to apply and less messy. But for this type of armoire I would definitely go for gold leaf again. 💛
@@New_Renaissance Thank you for your super quick reply; definitely set me at ease. I should just not let outside sources get into my head. I showed both to someone and they like the gilding wax. But it does look amazing on that dark finish and I can see your vision of the armoire and the gold leaf vs. gilding. Gold leaf made it more lux for sure. Have a super Easter weekend and thank you for being so open to answering my queries!
And you have the calmest ,loveliest way about you. The voice! This should sell fast. Hope so. . Let us know! First time watching from Pennsylvania,U S A.
This was exactly what i wanted to do with my two old furniture pieces, thank you for such a detailed tutorial also showing how beautiful does it look in the end damnnn!!
Beautiful as always I loved both versions , I have a lot of black and gold furniture some with hand painted chinoiserie love your tutorials ❤ greetings from the 🇬🇧
I loved the first version too. 🙈 But maybe the colour choice of the inside was too "different". 😅 But what's cool to see is that you can give one piece of furniture multiple identities, just by changing a few colours. It was so much fun to play around with this. 😁
Hello. Looks amazing. I recently bought the baur chalk paint in classic black but when I used it the color is more like a really dark gray. It's not what I was looking for as I was hoping for a dark black. Can you tell me what your impressions are of the color that you're using from Anna Sloan. Is it a true black or just really dark gray?
Hi Leen. Mooi hoor. Ik wil wat vragen als het mag over de kast zoals ie was , ik vond het een plaatje en vroeg me af of je de kast ook met een whitewash had gedaan ( vermoedelijk old White over french linnen .? ) of heb je whitewax gebruikt? Ben erg benieuwd! Groetjes
Dankjewel! Ik vond hem ook mooi, haha. Maar ja... 😂 Ik gebruikte Paris Grey als grondlaag en daarna gebruikte ik de dry brushing techniek over de details in Old White. Daarna werkte ik af met clear en black wax.
Hello, and just how can one buy this or any other piece, you may have up for sale? i am in the process of buying and renovating my parents" home; so although more interested in pieces of furniture as yet to makeover, I might let myself be tempted. I'm in France and my Dutch is non existant.

@@New_Renaissance Thank You, Votre français est excellent. I'm not able to measure if it would fit right now, but hope to do so next week some time. Whether it does or not, I'll keep a record of your store, for future use too.
Exquisite makeover Leen!
Thank you so much!!

I love black with gold or silver gilding wax! Two very different looks - I’m surprised the first one didn’t sell

Hi Edward, thanks for your nice comment. Athenian Black from Annie Sloan is a true black. Graphite from Annie Sloan is more a dark grey.

A spayer works best for painting furniture.
