I first started watching this video at the beginning of COVID. I have been making 15 birdhouses a year. I got more Ideas from the Black Forest Clocks and I have gotten a lot quicker carving... Jordy - in two years, your craftsmanship has improved so much. Your techniques are now so amazing. Your videos in 2022 are also a lot better quality. Your studio back them was pretty plain, but now, the studio is filled with memories... Thank You for helping me discover my God Given skill set to carve. You're the Best Teacher EVER!

Im in my 60s and girls just weren’t taught to use tools in my day and so i never considered to try and learn on my own …at least not until youtube and how to videos like yours .

I've been really sick for the last two and a half years spent most of that time staring at the ceiling of either my hospital room or bedroom. Your videos and others on you tube have kept me from going insane and have given me a hobby I can do inside and while sitting down.

You are really good at doing this! I wasn't too sure when I first started watching the carving, but boy you really did a wonderful job! What type of wood did you use? I know it can be difficult to try and explain what you are trying to do, but sometimes seeing it done is better than trying to explain it. I wish you had shown at least a bit of putting in the beard details. Chances are I may never actually try this but I would greatly enjoy knowing what your technique is. You put so much time into the carving, how much do you or would you sell it for? Thank you so very much!! God Bless and your are a good teacher and the cussing was non existent, Bravo!!! Lol!!
This is so much fun to watch a spirit emerge from the board. I just got a few kutzall bits so I’m going to give it a go. The black flies are sooo bad here it’s hard to spend time outside carving.

I bought one a guy made and a house wren took it over in 3 days of having it up. I have to try these myself.
At least with one wren in your house, you can mount another one and the wren will keep any other wrens away from it while being a good neighbor to another type of bird

Include a way to clean it out in the fall. Audubon Society recommendation. They also will say where to put it. Depending on species desired. They have many web sites. nice carve..

I am not trying to tell ya what to do, but bird house's need vent holes ( you could put them in the eyes or nose holes and a few on the sides or back) are the baby birds can die from over heating and it also should have an easy clean out because of mites, they need to be cleaned out every season. Mite suck the blood out of the baby birds.

Looks amazing! Only thing I wonder - will birds actually nest there? For several reasons - the face itself would make birds think it might be a living face, and hesitate to fly to it. Depends on bird. And 2- the entry hole is deep between mustache, which might obstruct their wings when they try to land.
I wish yo told us if birds eventually made a nest there or not.
Other then that- it is an amazing work! I need to try that!

I love your work bro. I have a suspicion tho. The f bomb was dropped in carving the eyes, hence the missing footage. And i did notice you managed to stop yourself when talking about the side whiskers at 31:15 lol
If I were filming myself building sometime- I would have a lot of missing footage…. That or a lot of beeping 🤣 it’s sucks when you get far into something only to mess it up somehow.
