Hello Jordy, I’ve been following you for quite some time, it was your video that got me into carving 5-6 years ago. At 70 I’m slowly getting to where it’s tough to work with my hands, but turn on the dust collector, headphones and I’m lost in the world of carving for hours. Thanks for your advice, ideas! Just be careful, those burrs can really do damage to your hands. Be sure to have a firm grip on the power head, and clamp the workpiece down securely. Wear safety glasses and protect from dust for breathing.

Thanks for your lessons. I finally carved my first wood spirit using this video to guide me along. All I had was a nice 14" length of black walnut that I split in half. It's about 14" high and about 4" wide. I'm very happy with how it came out and think I found something new that I love to do. On my Facebook post of it, I tagged and thanked you. Maybe you'll pick up a few more followers.

No right or wrong. Yes some are better then others. I have carved many different woods. Some are better then others. Walnut and osage orange are difficult to me. Sassafras, mulberry and Basswood ( a little fuzzy). Cherry not to bad, slower and different burs.

I have a dremel and just picked up a piece of driftwood at the beach today and was surfing “how to” videos.
Jordy is a different version of Bob Ross but with dremel carving. I love this!
    Paraphrasing here…
“If you follow those steps on blocking out this wood spirit you can carve it even if you think you can't
just try it. Trust me you'll see something come out it's not going to look like mine it's going to look like
    yours so just try.
Who cares have fun… that's what it's about everybody
It's having fun and finding a passion like i did. Try it get a dremel
try it… you will succeed, you'll find yourself a new passion and it could just change your life like it's changed mine”

I’m getting ready to retire and I have always had a interested in wood carving.
Years ago, a cedar tree had fallen at a church in our area, it was really old, and I was given a 4 ft piece
Right away I removed the bark and started carving with a chisel and a pocket knife, I carved a nose and eyes, a knot in the log became the nose. It was looking good.
I went trucking and thought about my log all week. I got home the following weekend and was ready to get to work. When I saw my log it had cracked right down the middle of the face.
I learned the lesson about letting the wood season .
January the 5th I will throw the keys away to the big truck, a friend gave me a seasoned 4 foot cedar log.
I watched this video and Brother you have given this old man inspiration.
And a new purpose in life. I may be wrong but I’m assuming you are Canadian. I use to truck to a place called Oakville, north of Buffalo.
I sure miss the Tim Horton coffee and fresh made Blue berry bagel.
    I’m Tom, Thank You Man

I’ve been retired for 3 wks, and I’ve watched this video many times. I wanted to share a picture of things I’ve done. But youtube wants a video. I will create one and share it with you. You are very inspiring. And a good teacher. I’d love to meet and shake hands with you. But I doubt I’ll ever get up your way. . Have a great day and stay warm. Tom

Watching your video was amazing I wanted to do this since I was a child thankfully when I was in high school we still had shop class and my shop teacher taught me but until recently I'm just going to sit down and try to make a living doing this your pieces are absolutely beautiful by the way

    You're the best tutorial mate..
To be honest I'm very confused now, because I'm trying to realise witch way is for me to enjoy the carving.i like you're way, and the only issue for me is the noise. I want to relax, to create slowly and peacefully... I really don't now how to start. I've been about to order carving knives and etc, but now I'm about to order a dremel.... I know you can't help me on that, I want to say a huge thank you, because one way or the other, I enjoyed, I loved your video. 🇬🇷🇬🇧

No thank you for teaching me how to carve. It was simply your words “any one can do it” that allowed me to try.

    WoW 😲
Dude this was an awesome tutorial, thank you so much 🙌
For some reason, whenever I tried, I always had issues trying to draw as if the object was negatived.
In other words I couldn't really understand what should be raised, and what should be carved.
For instance the mouth under the mustache, I would have messed that up by not sanding down, thinking I would need the lip to be raised.
    But anyway, your comment,
"Carve deeper, cause wood carving is removing, it's not adding"
After you said that and finished the mustache and lip, I finally understood how it would make sense to always carve down deeper, even if I need a raised piece around it.
It just makes sense to me now.
    Thank you so much.
and btw, you have amazing talent regardless of how you feel when comparing yourself to others.
I think this piece came out awesome !
    Always remember...
Comparison is the thief of joy.
If you compare yourself to others, you'll never be happy.
Except that everyone does things differently, that no two people are the same when it comes to art, and rejoice in the uniqueness God has given us.
That's why "Art" is art. If everyone was the same, then "Art" wouldn't exist.
But anyway, I find your carvings to be amazing, and I hope to see some more pieces, and tutorials of yours soon.
Thanks again for the easy to follow and understand lesson.
    Stay safe brother
    ✌️† 🙌
