I made it my mission to come to this game and stand for DeRozan. The energy in the building was electric. No one in that building wanted to stop cherishing what this man was to us. The only reason the ovation stopped was because the game started. Even then, Raptors fans were still hesitant to sit back in their seats. DeMar DeRozan was our hero.
Same! I'm so happy I was there to witness it. I'll never forget the atmosphere. He deserved all the love and more.
He truly was. Im not even Canadian and I still feel salty about that trade. He truly was Toronto’s best superstar. Even more then Kawhi IMO. He was loyal and without him they wouldn’t have been anywhere.

DeMar is the most loyal Raptor of all-time, and it kills me that Masai Ujiri did that to him. What a slap in the face to a man who did so much for the organization. I was severely pissed off with that trade, and I still am. He really made all Canadian basketball fans proud the way he carries himself on and off the court. A true gentleman and family man. Demar will always hold a special place in our hearts. He was the greatest player we had before Kawhi and his love for the city showed. Probably our only franchise player who was truly committed to us. We don't need other people telling us to be thankful, we naturally are. He will always be loved in Toronto and Canada for what he did for our franchise, ever since the Vince era.

while i can understand that some raptor fans might be hesitant to retire Vinces number 15, i see no argument why DeRozans number 10 shouldnt be retired in the future.
fans were hesitant until 2 years ago when we finally buried the hatchet. Carter's jersey will be the first one in the rafters, derozans and lowrys have long earned their places up there too

DeMar DeROZAN was our superstar for 9 years
PLEASE RETIRE HIS JERSEY. His work ethic is phenomenal, he is an incredible athlete, and teammate. Regardless of all that, he put the Raptors on his back (during our darkest days - Chris Bosh departure), and being from the WEST COAST, wanted to take this team to the promise land. Never once had a meeting with another team, only wanted to be here. I understand the trade, and Kawhi is a much, much, much better player than DeMar, but NO ONE can ever do what DeMar did for us. Side Note: Vince Carter was very impactful on the Raptors organization and Canada Basketball, but that's a whole other JERSEY RETIREMENT debate.

There's no doubt that the Raps will retire Demar's jersey once his playing days are done. The entire Raptors nation respect him, and he will always be loved by the city regardless where he plays. Demar will be remembered as the Raptor's first superstar who stayed loyal to the team. I'm still on the fence about Carter, T-Mac, and Bosh. I think they're all hall of fame players, but as a Raptors fan, I'm still salty that they spurned the team to play in a "nicer" city. However, I won't be as salty if Kawhi leaves after this season. He carried the team further than any Raptor player has done in one season. Heck, I'll be even ok if they decide to retire his jersey as well. Demar and Kawhi earned my respect.

DeMar was the first All-Star to want to stay in Toronto. Let that sink in for a second. He was the first and Lowry was the second. In a time where no American basketball players want to stay in Canada let alone one who was an All-Star DeMar bought into the country and the city. For that he should always be honored by the City of Toronto and the country. Retiring Vince's, Kyle's and Lowry's number is a no brainer.
I paid a lot of money for overpriced tickets so I could be a part of that ovation. That game was almost an immediate sellout in the city because of the love we have for Derozan and literally everyone wanting to show him love that night.
