- The Toronto Raptors won their first ever championship in 2019 led by Kawhi Leonard. Masai Ujiri did a fantastic job taking over the team and leading them to the title through good drafting and the trades for Kawhi Leonard and Marc Gasol.
The Championship didn't happen overnight and it was years in the making. This timeline starts with the Chris Bosh years and ends with Kawhi Lenard leaving to join the Los Angeles Clippers after winning the 2019 title.

The greater the risk, the greater the reward. Trading for Kawhi was a huge risk that paid off big time. Too bad there aren't more organizations that willing to go all in for one season. That was the most gutsy move in sports I've ever seen. Now, even after Kawhi left, the future looks very bright for the Raptors.

@@nbachillzone8725 Well, i think you are kinda wrong. The point of that big trade was to FINALLY get a chip to Toronto. Everybody knew Kahwi wanted to go to LA, but was traded to Raptors so that they could try something different (before having a bunch of old players, loved by fans but without a championship). Yes, now it's time to rebuild, but that chip was worth it.

Yeah, it's good that they took a risk, but to be honest, it's going to be a long time before they win another chip, or they might never win another one. Masai didn't really build a dominant team to at least be turned into a dynasty.
Kawhi got us a chip and he wanted to go back home and play... I dont blame Kawhi for leaving toronto

Seeing the evolution of the Raptors starting lineup is insane. From Lowry-DeRozan-Carroll-Scola-Valaciunas to Lowry-Green-Leonard-Siakam-Gasol with Ibaka off the bench. I think because how short that group was together(Gasol came at the trade deadline) people really underrate how talented the Raptors’ starting 5 was last year. That 6 man rotation had 11 all stars, 6 1st team all-defense, 2 DPOYs, 3 1st team all-NBA, 4 2nd team all-defense, and an MIP(who’ll be a future all star) between them. That’s a huge comeup. It sucks that we couldn’t see another year of them together

Given the youth of the Raptors franchise I feel the timeline should have started in 1995 instead of 2010. Feels like something is missing when there's no mention of Vince Carter. I get it though if the intention was to start the timeline at the start of the 2010's decade.

People always like to leave out the fact that the Vancouver Grizzlies had really weak ownership at the time, Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment were experiencing mounting losses and near bankruptcy, that's why the Grizzlies moved. Raptors ownership never had those issues. Such a claim is absurd and unfounded.

Love the video, but in 2009/10 the raptors went 40-42 not 42-40 and won 59 games in 2017/18, the clip used for the 13/14 season when Lowry passed to derozan for the dunk was from the next season 14/15
