Valentina Lisitsa with Bösendorfer Imperial NAMM 2011

At my request, Valentina was kind enough to perform on the Bösendorfer Imperial inside the Yamaha Premium Piano booth at NAMM 2011. We were treated to this private performance and Alexei Kuznetsoff was kind enough to capture it despite less than ideal lighting or recording conditions. It's like Valentina said in the interview: 'Do you need those extra keys? They'll sound from themselves when playing'. Amazing sound, lovely to hear. What about the Organ Symphony of Saint-Saëns?

but she's playing them sympathetically - you can hear it in the first bar - the deep resonance. (she talks about that as well in another video but it's obvious in any instrument that has more strings).

When I hear this instrument I wonder why some rich people waste money on fast cars or drugs when you could buy this wonderful instrument. This is the only material thing on the planet I lust for. Oh well, I'm driving to Houston just to touch/play one. Heaven. Watch Nina Simone playing one for the first time. She had fell on hard times but, before she played "My baby just cares for me"....her look says it all about what I feel about this piano
