How lovely to have family help, the place has come alive with the sounds of the little one running around, and the family helping outside, looks like your mum placed the paper in your windows just in time, for the snow falling, looks lovely, as soon as I see the desk, I hoped you would restore it, very nice, and useful.

For sticky wood drawers that don't slide easily in the desk, you can rub a candle along the bottom edges of the drawers and they will slide better due to the wax.

Great progress with family help. That desk will be nice fixed up. If you wax the outside of the drawers and the slides it will work fine, the wood gets very dry.

Great job! Right before Spring, I suggest tuning up that lawn mower and the chain saws. Dump the fuel, clean the carburetor jets out, etc. Something diffferent for you to tackle that are all associated with one another, and you'll probably need them pretty quickly come Spring. BTW, you may want to get a weedwacker/brushcutter come spring as well. That scythe isn't worth your time. LOL

Nothing like extra hands to help with all the work. Glad you discovered the special wood to help with your stove, plus that fan. And the first snowfall...always looked forward to those. The way they cover the tips of all the evergreen trees from the view above was stunning. Like little fractals.

The fact that the stream runs under the guest cabin is so cool! What if you could make a section of the floor be glass so you could see from above?

Beautiful, well crafted video! It is heartwarming to see family at what we call a "work bee." Our old farm in Maine, when we lived there, used the same fan to distribute heat. Also we installed electric corner fans in some door ways that helped. The stream is wonderful! The guest house is going to be a wonderful project. Would it be a good idea to put a tarp over the hole in the roof for now? My husband and I found this a very moving and lovely experience. The music is perfect. Thank you...keep up the good work dear Marcus 🌹 🏜️❤

Thank you very much! Yes, the plan is to cover the hole with a tarp. I have one but it was too small, unfortunately.

The brush you using to clean the stove was used to clean the table from bread crumbs. It is a very old one.

Hi Marcus, Thank you for creating vlogs which are so relaxing to watch. How lovely to have your family helping you. May I request a couple of things? Could you make your subtext a little larger, and on screen that little bit longer, as it would help us to be able to continue watching, without having to stop and read, which interrupts the beautiful flow of the cinematography. Please continue this lovely piece of work. Pauline, Sheffield, UK

We call the extra windows “storm windows”. Usually they go on outside the regular window, to make a double window. Some people put them on inside the building, though.

Good progress with the seemingly thousand and one jobs needing to be done but things are taking shape. You might get yourself a few of those candle lighters that are available almost anywhere. They will be so much easier to light your fires than matches. At amazon they come in multi packages. Thank you for sharing these enjoyable episodes.

Another great video...I loved seeing the cellar....so much history...it would be great if you could keep as many of the old bits and pieces that are there...to preserve the authentic nature of the place and pay homage to whats been before.
