Passively increasing the range is not advisable.
Use contract relax / hold relax with Mulligan glides and let the patient's own effort be used in increasing the ROM

Regards from an Indian learner in the US, we have a female patient aged 65 yrs in the clinic who was operated for a TKR in 2013 and after which they got Physical Therapy that wasn't very effective hence a re-surgery was performed about 2 months back. The patient has moderate to severe knee flexion ROM restriction even now as their Knee flexion ROM is only 50 degrees post this re-surgery , they have been advised vigorous physical therapy. My ques is.. could this technique be useful in such patients who have long term knee flexion ROM deficits?

Prefer MET techniques in such patients and the rule is to continue until you feel an increase in the ROM for that session.
Prescribe home exercises to maintain the achieved home exercises
