So when I heard you say that @3:22 lasers require no recharge time, I'd like to know where you get that data point, because I believe it's unlikely that you can just keep "pulling the trigger" on these systems w/ no recharge time. Additionally, saying they only cost a "few dollars" to shoot (vs. missiles), is super misleading. These systems require capital investment and O&M costs, so they are still very expensive to use. If your metric is per-shot, then it's going to be a hell of a lot more than a few dollars per shot.

This is great concept what they need is some drone mirrors or mirrors on tall posts to guide the lasers wherever they are needed. Also they need to consider rapid return strike when a rocket is fired. I think they should consider something like David vs Goliath in other words a sling shot. The new NASA spin launch system that will throw a small satellite into orbit at 5000 mph could easily be modified to throw an exploding shrapnel shell at a specific area. And due to the curvature of the earth about 15 miles close to the surface. This is fine for hitting missles and rockets in flight. Which is the primary goal. But if you want to take out the missle launcher or launch site. You basically have to shoot down at the area. Thus you either have to put the whole big heavy laser in an airplane or at least on top of a skyscraper. To achieve this. However by having a high quality mirror that could redirect the beam to shoot down on a target over the horizon. You change your strategy from strictly defense to a second strike offense weapon.

Well, if you attack during foggy or heavily clouded days, this system is not effective as beams of light are challenged with particles in the air.

This is great concept what they need is some drone mirrors or mirrors on tall posts to guide the lasers wherever they are needed.
Also they need to consider rapid return strike when a rocket is fired.
I think they should consider something like David vs Goliath in other words a sling shot.
The new NASA spin launch system that will throw a small satellite into orbit at 5000 mph could easily be modified to throw an exploding shrapnel shell at a specific area. Even if it just threw a bag of ball bearings at the rocket lanch site it would nail everything in the zone.
Since the targets are airborne, I think mirrors would be unnecessary. You'd want the lasers to travel as straight as possible, since the longer the distance, the more they lose energy on the way.

When the beam leaves the generating equipment it travels in an absolutely straight line to the target. Now if the laser is buried in the ground for protection it would only be able to shoot at targets a few degrees above the horizon. And due to the curvature of the earth about 15 miles close to the surface. This is fine for hitting missles and rockets in flight. Which is the primary goal.
But if you want to take out the missle launcher or launch site. You basically have to shoot down at the area. Thus you either have to put the whole big heavy laser in an airplane or at least on top of a skyscraper. To achieve this.
However by having a high quality mirror that could redirect the beam to shoot down on a target over the horizon. You change your strategy from strictly defense to a second strike offense weapon.
So basically, my rocket should be a mirror so that the defender pays for the rocket load I will hit him with? I hope mirrors are incapable of redirecting these amounts of energy. If so, the project in itself is a messed up thingy.
