Kenny this is Tim it's good to see you're back my friend I hope you're feeling better once again good review thank you for everything you done for everybody
That is the same scope I put on mine. It was almost as much as the rifle but it is a very good scope and works very well with this rifle. The bipod is reminiscent of those old steel POS bipods we got issued with our M-16's. I shoved mine in my duffel bag and never used it.
R.I.P. Kenny. The front sight is meant to be off center. This rifle is meant to be shot like this. You need to align the front sight with the fiber optic to the right, on the rear sight. Hard to explain, but this way you see the target in between the two greens. I thought that was a big mistake when I saw it was off center. But when I realized the design, I love it. I do love it and think it is a great idea. I love this rifle, both with a scope and with open sights. It does shoot with a lot of power, too.
On a snowy day I was hitting the bottom side of a soda pop can at 36 yards using a better scope. Still need to hit up the 100 yard range with this gun, should be fine. The trigger is nice, everything is solid. I use Crossman Premier .177 Hollow Point 7.9gr Lead Pellets. Inexpensive and gets the job done,,beer can at 100 yards. Still not a member of the 200 club yet.
Thanks for another great review. I hope that the Elite II I ordered performs, as well. FYI you can order the Elite II online through Walmart. The Max version is in store only.
i heated the barrel up with a portable torch not getting it to close and keeping it hot but not red hot and twisted it with all i got and it came off. the muzzle break came off it is blued all the way down i used a rag and tooth past and buffed the barrel so it looked all like new again and got the new blue under the muzzle to match the rest
i used same scope as he is using in the video and i have to hold the gun really tight and i can shot 25 shoots at 50 yards and 25 is within one inch diameter . it is a nail driver and the trigger if you pull the stock off and bend up the out side clip spring the safety will be easy to push with one finger
thanks for the review. I just picked this gun up yesterday and this review makes me feel better about doing so. hit a yoohoo bottle at over 25yds and dropped the bottom off it. so I do know its got good power

Just bought on the Ruger air hawk2 .177 cal at Walmart 12/18/21. It was $146 bucks it’s my first pellet rifle , was surprised it is heavy , just over 8 lbs, seemed well constructed, shot cross men 7.9 grain hollow points thru it and hit a 1 1/4 “ target at 25 yds without dialing in the scope yet , saw comments were people complained about the scope , it seems that Ruger has a German company make the air rifle ,but the scope is made in China , ya I know , I will probably up grade , the rifle seems a bit loud , and I haven’t tried any of the alloy pellets yet ,still looking around at other stores yet as there wasn’t much of a section at the store I bought the rifle from , so far I’m pretty impressed with this rifle , if you have had one for awhile or a couple of years ,how’s it holding up , 🤔. 👍
I’ve had my rifle for almost 8 months, put about 700-800 pellets through it, and let me tell you, be careful with the screws. By screws I mean every single screw on the gun. They are cheap screws that like to back out, or just completely shear off, as many of mine have. I’ve also noticed that the accuracy of the rifle has decreased over the time I’ve had it. Let me know how yours has been holding up.
@@G_moneyy did you use blue 242 loctite thredlocker on the bolts and screws ? My rifle already had a thread locker on the bolts and screws but I re-did mine just to be sure, I originally bought my rifle just for target shooting, but I’m impressed buy all the comments on you tube and how much punch this Ruger has , I sure wish I had this as a kid growing up, instead of the daisy BB gun , but time will tell on its reliability and accuracy, I hear horror stories of people that used a brass brush down the barrel, I’m just going to swab mine with plastic weed walker string and oiled cloth and light oil moving parts as maintenance, I’ve only shot it a couple of dozen times so not much wear yet , it’s a fun gun to shoot .
The instructions I believe say not to use the muzzle break as a handle when cocking it. Although tempting to do so when cocking not a good idea... Great video gonna have to try those Barracuda Match pellets you mentioned. Thank You Sir!

Hi there, I have a choice between the RUGER AIR HAWK ELITE II 4.5mm and the CROSMAN CS2SXS SHOCKWAVE 5.5MM. What would you say is the best choice over all?
Hi Kenneth, question for you on this gun. I picked up a refurb to play around with the trigger figuring it would be the same one as in the Impact Max, but it is not the same trigger group. But the question is how to remove the trigger group from this one. I put the receiver/barrel into a spring compressor and punched out the pin, but the trigger group does not lift out. Any ideas? Thanks.
@@patrickrenschler I own both of them. .177 and .22 it hits with a wallop. I have metal spinning targets and the .22 definitely worth the money. I shot armadillo tearing up my yard about 30 mins ago. myairgunreviews kenny my friend Tim here I hope you have a very good Christmas and holidays my friend and that everything goes away that you want it to God bless
I believe this model is a break-barrel. The gas piston is primed by popping open the breach and pulling the barrel down until the primer locks. No gas cartridges needed.
me and my friend where shooting at glass blottlesat about 25 yards away my .22 his .177 my .22 wouldn't break the bottle ...but the .177 did ...why is that? wouldn't that mean the .177 would be better for hunting?
ruger .22 impact and a ruger air hawk .177 the ruger impact was tuned and shoots fine the airhawks had about 10,000 rounds through it with the factory seals and spring also its only shooting t around 900fps
if you use the scope that came with the gun. do not count on hitting nothing over 10 yards with that junk scope. the gun is good do not blame the gun for the scope defect.and always go over the three stock screws when new out the box they do work lose . just make sure you have them and the scope you buy tight down to the rifle
You join said in your previous comment that the scope was "just fine" your words and now you write another comment and say you cant hit "nothin" past 10 yards. For me this erases EVERYTHING youve said... get another hobby!
Daughter bought one for son in law for Christmas. Had loose rear ancher bolt right out of the box. Turned out the lug inside to which the bolt screws into was what was stripped. Called Umerex an they told her to bad cant help you. Well I did a fix for the ancher bolt now the gun will not cock. Sear will not engage piston . So save your money an by a better quality gun! I have both a Titan NP piston .177cal and a dual Cal Beeman springer. Both are way better then this peace of crap. Don't waste your money!
I like my air hawk 2. But the scews keep coming loose specifically on the trigger. Any suggestions or il return it. What other gun do you recommend that's equal to this 1??
I would get thread lock and put it on the screws. Also there are two screws that are under the rear sight, make sure those stay tight with premium or permanent thread lock. If those two come lose you will lose accuracy. Also something I learned about this riffle. If you want a shorter trigger pull you can take the adjuster screw that adjusts the slack of the first stage of the trigger and put it in the hole on the front of the trigger and will shorten the second stage of the trigger. KEEP IN MIND doing this can set off the rifle so make sure it's unloaded. You can tighten it to the point it will fire so don't tighten it to much, it will also keep the safety from working if it's too tight. Hope this helps!
Scam. I bought the impact max elite after reading all over the box and nowhere did it say that it was break-barrel. Thought I was getting a co2 gun as this was labeled "gas piston air rifle" instead of "break-barrel" like the others. Deliberately worded to mislead buyers into thinking it's gas-powered. The other rifles clearly said break-barrel in multiple places all over the box if you're paying good money don't get conned by the impact max elite.
I bought this rifle, scope piece of shit, tried shooting a group at 10 metetrs could not get tighter than 3 inch group. found out one of the screws on the front of the stock was broken off and stuck in the metal part of the barrel. walmart would not take it back. ruger wanted me to pay freight both ways, and it would have been more than the gun was worth. the problem with this gun is how they attached it to the stock. only 3 screws holding it on, over flimsy plastic. poor engineering. every time you pull the trigger the bolt slams forward, and those three screws eat into the plastic of the stock a little more, after a while it doesnt matter how much you tighten the screws or how much locktite you put on them. once the holes get eaten out enough you have a piece of junk left. its just a matter of time
Jb weld some washers into the stock and get some better bolts and it'll work. Umarex customer service guy is a dick head. I told him they came loose after 20 shots and he said that was an extended shooting session. You could tell he's talked to alot of people about it. After the fix they shoot good
Don't buy this air rifle, total junk. I purchased one and it was dead in the box. Walmart won't take back you have to pay shipping to Umarex. product is total trash.

I believe this model is a break-barrel. The gas piston is primed by popping open the breach and pulling the barrel down until the primer locks. No gas cartridges needed.
Did I miss something? What cal is this gun?

Didn't know you had cancer. Bless you brother. Look into some natural herbal remedies. Garlic for one.
me and my friend where shooting at glass blottlesat about 25 yards away my .22 his .177 my .22 wouldn't break the bottle ...but the .177 did ...why is that? wouldn't that mean the .177 would be better for hunting?
What model guns?
ruger .22 impact and a ruger air hawk .177 the ruger impact was tuned and shoots fine the airhawks had about 10,000 rounds through it with the factory seals and spring also its only shooting t around 900fps
Next question is what pellets are you shooting with each gun?

Can I change the stock?
It should swap out with the Ruger Impact Max.
if you use the scope that came with the gun. do not count on hitting nothing over 10 yards with that junk scope. the gun is good do not blame the gun for the scope defect.and always go over the three stock screws when new out the box they do work lose . just make sure you have them and the scope you buy tight down to the rifle
not true at all hunny lol I’ve been hitting squirrels from 40+
I got the walmart exclusive version with the zeroed scope. It hit quite well between 20 and 50 yards straight out of the box.
Try pulling hard on the trigger with the safety off. It might not be grabbing the sear because it's cocked.
I just bought one for $74.93
got one for 75 :)
Hope this helps!
pepsigoodman99 thanks for the help. I didn't know there were additional screws. Thank you
What is the impact max elite? and if you check the terminology, I believe that it's still correct, even if it's misleading.
what is your scope i like it please tell me
He can’t because he has passed away sadly

After the fix they shoot good
I just bought one fired it once and now it's junk no return at Walmart and it's bullshit
i returned mine, u just have to find the right WM. Keep trying, u will find one.
What exactly happened to the rifle? because I am planning to buy one
@@mathaithomas3642 he probs forgot to tighten all screws. Thats what happens to most.
I bet ur just a idiot and it wasnt the rifle
I've owned one for 2 years and love it.
Don't buy this air rifle, total junk. I purchased one and it was dead in the box. Walmart won't take back you have to pay shipping to Umarex. product is total trash.
Same here
Got mine last year for my birthday, still shoots just fine
@@bobkamachi2346 you got a good one I guess, I got the impact max yesterday and so far I love it. Trying to restore my faith in the Ruger name. Uma-ruger-ex or just ruger ..I want to believe! Hahaha. Good on you though👍👍
@@youngoldman9871 dont get me wrong though, I have two other umarex break barrels and they cant shoot accurately whatsoever.
@@bobkamachi2346 it's literally hit or miss ha
Looks like China Inc. keeps pumping out reskinned versions of the same cheap gun to me.
