Happy 4th! I just picked one up today too! Super impressed. I tightened a few screws, added a drop of gun oil and was shooting one inch groups right out of the box, using H&N Silver Point 11.57gr. As good as the fiber optic sights are, I may not install the scope. It’s not a light gun, but that’s ok. And it was a bit loud, but it got better after a few shots. I expect it to be a good varmint gun.
Happy 4th! I had to set my sights a little and I did put the scope on because it gives a better visual of the target. 11.57? Wow! Bet that packs some punch! I like that its heavy for me it adds a little stability. And I've had to tighten the screws a few times after every 100 pellets or so. Thanks for the comment, have a blast shooting!
This air rifle is very nice , fairly accurate with good power ; only down side is the screws that hold it together . The screws loosen up . But I love this air and rifle, good weight feels solid hits hard , great price at Walmart. Only issue is the screws. ( I've JB welded mine, after several times of of screws getting loose
Just got mine, I fired a few without the scope, it was pretty accurate, then I put the scope on it, making sure all the screws were really snug but not too tight. My first shot with the scope was a bullseye! I thought I missed but after looking closer I was dead center. if it had been a rat he would have been toast. I think the trick with this pellet rifle is always to have a screwdriver and Allen wrench to tighten up the scope and make sure all the screws are tightened up good. You don't want to strip them so you want to just make sure they're good and tight but not overtightened. If you were to let it go too long without tightening the screws holding the barrel they could loosen up and break. Reading a lot of reviews this seems to be a pretty common problem. You also want to make sure the pellet is firmly seated flat in the barrel. I also used the 10.5 grain pellets, other pellets might seat a little better. I have some Crossman copper magnum pellets that are 10.6 grains, they say there 20% faster. I haven't tried them yet. I used to have a Benjamin pump air rifle, but I would have to pump it up like 10 times, I like this break barrel one pump rifle much better, it's also more powerful. It does sound almost like a .22 until you shoot it a few times to get the oil out of the barrel, you should really run a patch through the barrel before you shoot it the first time, I was impatient, lol.

It took some shooting on mine before I found the sweet spot. It's more accurate now than it was? In the video I didn't add any long range shots because it was so inaccurate. Now I need to do another video showing the range it zeroed in at. I'm hitting a green 1lbs propane tank from 150ft every shot! Thanks for the comment!
I haven't had any trouble with the scope that came with it. I got it zeroed in at 1/2" at 60 yards. It's definetly better than the naked eye. Thanks for commenting and happy shooting!

I've actually got a video planned for shooting long range. I've got the scope mounted and zeroed in now. But it's either windy, snowing or a mud bowl so getting it done has been slow going. Thanks for the comment!
Umarex isn't exactly what I'd call an "off brand" in the world of air rifles. They're one of the largest manufacturers of air rifles in the world. They license the Ruger name, but Ruger has no input into the rifle's manufacture or construction/design.
In fact Umarex is the leading manufacturer of Air Rifles in Usa. Thanks for commenting! Umarex is a subsidiary of the Walther Arms brand. So why not just use the Walther name to sell their product. And maybe put their name of the rifle becuase only in the finest print does it say, manufactured by Umarex under the license of Ruger. And its got Ruger logo's and the Ruger name in bold red print. No company licenses their brand with no say so in production. Unfortunately Umarex made themselves seem like the off brand. Still shoots straight and true. New videos coming soon...
I didn't even get 50 to 75 rounds before the barrel ball and spring fell out. Now the breach just falls open. I'm very disappointed. Umarex says they have no parts for it. They were supposed to send me an email with info to send it back for exchange. Never got the email and can't get it replaced now because it's out of warranty period. Walmart special I guess. I have a parts gun if anyone interested.
Damn sorry to hear that man. I probably wouldnt buy another one after everything I've learned about it now. Mine still shoots, and its cheap to shoot. But its not accurate enough for the long range shots I like. Thanks for the comment
It's the scope that came with the rifle. 3x40 I think? At the time of the video I didnt have the scope on it cuz it was a little difficult to zero in. Now its zeroed in at 60 yards and a half inch spread! The pellets are still rising at that range and still have a good speed and impact. Thank you for the comment and question! Thank you for Watching!
Mines ridiculous for this gun.. to much, and probably cheap parts. But i have a zoomable scope its like 9x-50x or something not sure, bi-pod, level, and phone attachment for scope. Wanted to do the video varmint thing but this gun kicks like a bull for a pellet gun. Adjustig sights all day.
you wont like this gun so much after you have put quite a few rounds through it. the metal parts of the gun are great the problem is the way they attached it to the stock. the next time you take it apart to clean look at the thickness of the plastic where the front screws attach, less tha an 1/8 of an inch of soft plastic. and its even thinner on the back screw that has lefthanded threads. every time you pull the trigger, that bolt slams forward with a great deal of force, causing those screws to eat into the plastic a little each time. it doesent matter how much you tighten them or how much loctite you use. that entire barrel assembly moves forward each time.
Yeah I've noticed it moves. After every 200-250 shots I tighten it. I've put about 1200 pellets through it and it's still holding strong. Just needs a little attention every now and then, like most mechanical things. I'm working on a long range video and should have about 1500 pellets through it after I'm done recording. Let's see how its holding up then. I'll use your suggestions on where to look for wear and do a break down video also. Thanks for commenting!
Don't aim higher or lower. etc... adjust your SCOPE Bro! I have the Same Ruger Air Hawk Elite.. But Mine is DIALED out to 100 Yards.... Dinner plate sized target... Anything within 50 Yards, (150 ft) is done for..... I've already gottten 5 squirrels on the same day I tried it.

Yeah, some owners have had broken screws or stripped out threads that hold that plastic rail in place. Seems to be a problem area.
You should get the barska 3×9×32 plinker scope at walmart for 30 bucks. Its a way better scope that will hold zero on a springer
I haven't had any trouble with the scope that came with it. I got it zeroed in at 1/2" at 60 yards. It's definetly better than the naked eye. Thanks for commenting and happy shooting!
@@offgridandoutdoors2468 wow that surprises me
$30 bucks is worth it! The scope that came with it isn't very good
Any way to make it quiet? Should I shoot a lot of pellets to change the sound? Is there a pellet that is quiet? Use less oil?
Yes. A silencer is easy to make and attach. i thought about making a video showing that process. And its an air rifle so laws broken...
Nice Great video!
Thanks so much! A simple comment goes along way! Until I can monetize the channel at 1k subs the comments and thumbs up's are the reward for my time. Comments help with the algorithm too.
Can u please tell my what fps means on a pellet gun please tell me if you can my dad was wondering. Thank you and haven a nice day
"Feet Per Second" thanks for the great question and comment!
@@offgridandoutdoors2468 thank you so much 😊
Can you do a video shooting that rifle at 50 to 100 yds?
I've actually got a video planned for shooting long range. I've got the scope mounted and zeroed in now. But it's either windy, snowing or a mud bowl so getting it done has been slow going. Thanks for the comment!
I'm am thinking about buying a gamo whisper or ruger not sure which one to buy. Might buy the ruger since it has fiber optic sights.
@@tyleringle268 I do like the fiber optic sights!
Good vid
Looking back through my comment section and it appears that I never thanked you for your comment, so, thank you for commenting!
@@offgridandoutdoors2468 just got one today and im hearing that the screws will break eventually ,.how do you get it to last that long??
@@TRAVISSCOTT-id1hq not sure... Mine is still going strong. Hopefully you got a good one too.
I will buy the stock from. You stock just broke. Everything else works fine. I still shot it with broken stock but want a new one
Whats ur set up on ur rifle it hits good
It's the scope that came with the rifle.
Nice vid bro...
Thanks so much! That simple recognition goes along way cuz I put alot into these videos. Thanks again!

My EDC is a .40 Caliber Glock. Thanks for commenting!
you wont like this gun so much after you have put quite a few rounds through it. the metal parts of the gun are great the problem is the way they attached it to the stock. the next time you take it apart to clean look at the thickness of the plastic where the front screws attach, less tha an 1/8 of an inch of soft plastic. and its even thinner on the back screw that has lefthanded threads. every time you pull the trigger, that bolt slams forward with a great deal of force, causing those screws to eat into the plastic a little each time. it doesent matter how much you tighten them or how much loctite you use. that entire barrel assembly moves forward each time.
Where did you get your yours?

How much quieter does it get. I shot mine and didn’t expect that.
It does get a little more quiet. Still pretty loud for an air rifle though
Any way to make quiet? Should I shoot a lot of pellets to change the sound? Is there a pellet that is quiet? Use less oil?
My pellets won’t stay in the barrel after loading it, it sumply drops out
Cheap pellets
Or your putting 177 pellets in a 22caliber pellet gun
You'll shoot your eye 👁 out ! 🤣 Will she kill squirrels ?
😂😂😂 I bet it would!
Holy shit I hit that thang 😂
😄😄😄
Don't aim higher or lower. etc... adjust your SCOPE Bro! I have the Same Ruger Air Hawk Elite.. But Mine is DIALED out to 100 Yards.... Dinner plate sized target... Anything within 50 Yards, (150 ft) is done for..... I've already gottten 5 squirrels on the same day I tried it.
How BIG a animal will this gun kill? Thanks
Not sure? Small game I'd say, rabbit, birds, squirrel...
I’ve killed squirrels and rats with it easy. Iguanas too.
I have same gun it will take crows racoons scunks rabbit it's depending on how far away the target is and the ammo
@@nicholasboyea7912 would it kill coyote with head shot??25 yds??Thanks
I dont like this gun because every one ive had broke at the 2 screws at the barrel end of the stock
I've heard this several times now. I appreciate knowing it, thanks for commenting!
Dose it only hold 1 pellet at a time?
Single shot, yes. I don't trust the multi shot pellet loaders, still new technology. Now old school BB guns I've used alot
@@offgridandoutdoors2468 I’ve got a air hawk and a gamo swarm maximm which is a 10 shot break barrel both really good the swarm says it goes 1300 FPS only 100 more than the air hawk but what pellets do you recommend? It says to use PBA platinum alloy but those are hard to find
@@Kornflakes12 I didn't trust the reliability of the 10 shot cuz it hadn't been out long. How reliable is it. Does it have any issues? The Wal-Mart near here has alloys. But they dont stay in stock very long. Thanks for watching and commenting!

.177 piranas wer 2 larg 4 my rugr blakhawk, they fit fine in the winchestr 77x, strang . . .
That is weird. I've put a couple hundred through my Ruger. I've got the scope zeroed in at 150 ft now and the pellets are still rising at that range. And still pack a good punch at that range. Almost knocks my green propane tank over on impact
Same issue with mine..forced it in and it worked though, just incredibly tight...the drop at 30 ft though is 1inch compared to the 7.4g pointed pellets I used to zero in scope
@@craigshelhammer5683 Really? Mine is zeroed in at 150 ft and still rising at that range! I'm going to do another video showing this and comparing pellets. Stayed tuned, thanks for commenting and watching

who knows how to set up scope in this gun ??
It took me quite a while. I do have it zeroed in at 150 ft now. But it took patience and alot of pellets!
This thing is loud
The rear sight wobbles. It is not consistent.
I've gotten mixed comments, I guess I got a good one. Mine is still going strong after about 2k pellets through it. Thanks for Commenting!
But it is terribly inconsistent over 25ft, you're correct!
