  • For many people, the mention of Papua New Guinea will evoke images such as remote highlands cultures and tribal warriors; or perhaps tropical islands and palm fringed beaches, or it may bring to mind darker images of poverty, corruption and raskol violence.
But in PNG's capital, Port Moresby, things are starting to look a little different.
Moresby Modern, is the story of 7 people, as they work in the challenging environment of a developing country, learning to balance the traditional expectations of their culture with the demands of modern society.

That song in the background.😥💪💪miss PNG. Heard it on Air Niugini from Manila to POM and POM to Singapore!!
They all said PNG Hunters will make it into knock outs after 10 years in the QRL. We proved them wrong. We became QRL Champions just 4 years after joining.

I lived there for 3 years, the country is full of corruption, from the top down, the wantok system does not work in modern society, I made some great friends there, but the rascals run the place, beautiful country, with internal conflicts, there is still New Guineans, and Papuans, still not united

PNG - needs more entrepreneurs, who are willing to take a risk and make a difference. It should not matter where they were educated - but what they can give back to PNG.

Wantok system is the cause for PNG’s demise. People vote for their candidates not based on merit but because they are related by blood. Hens you have your formula for disaster. PNG will never come out of this shit hole because every bodies greedy and want to own a piece of the pie. In my humble opinion the country should be split into 4 parts - Papua, New Guinea Islands and momase and the Highlands. In that way we don’t have a select few from the same area or part of the country controlling the fate of others.

@ngimangi. Tok Save tasol 2 of the participants didn't go to Australia for their education. But all these people live in Port Moresby now, which is perhaps the point of this film.

Very optimistic but the reality is that the country is going to the dogs. The middle class has always existed and as always will continue to remain insignificant with respect to the direction the country needs to take. With the level of economic uncertainty, our middle class though growing will never stand up to the powers that be fear of losing their hard earned privileges.

Very optimistic but the reality is that the country is not going forward. The middle class exists. Yes it always has and like before will continue to significance

Very Stagnant, stale and un-profound thought, the founding fathers wanted to prove that PNG can be a better country without Australia. simple, our independence was not because our leaders wanted Glory, it was for the sake of the people, being free of outside rule, they wanted to show the world that we are civilized human beings. AND YES WE ARE....that we can conduct and control ourselves...and yes we have for the past 37 years.....its time to put those thoughts aside, and help build our country
