Very nice set up and useful tips ! I run both Miller and Lincoln, I have the Lincoln on my trk and Miller migs in the shop. I have to say that 302 is definitely the bees knees! I just stumbled on your channel and subscribed! I do very similar work and I must say you have a beautiful shop there! Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for subscribing. Share if you would. I'm almost at the you tube magic 1000 subs. That's when they allow money to flow. Been a long year of making videos hoping to get to this point. Thanks again
There's a RUclips channel called the mechanic, they are in India or Pakistan and they show themselves rebuilding and fixing truck parts and it's an understatement to say they utilize what they have and they cut stuff using stick
Stupid question - the only trailblazer I see with that housing thing poking out of it is the air pak - is that the air filter for the engine? Had to move to make room for compressor? And - most importantly - does that make the air pak NOT weatherproof?
Great informative video. I'm looking to buy a trailblazer 325 myself, but i cant make a choice on the EFI or the Carb system. I have seen a lot of people on youtube complaining about the EFI, too many things to go wrong, fuel pumps, sending units, O2 sensors. wish someone could shine me in the right direction. I know carb will work but will it get gummed up after awhile and have you had to adjust yours since you got it?
After five years I had to take carb apart and get today's new gas varnish out of the main jet. Otherwise she's never let me down. From now on I add a small amount of fuel conditioner to the gas. Otherwise it's never let me down. The key here is to use it often. Sometimes mine sits for months. That's when problems generally occur
@@MichaelJBerg for my day job, i drive truck then i may do welding on weekends working on log trucks or manufacturing parts for them but if i can get jobs rolling in pretty often then i would quit my day job then do welding/fabricating full time. would just make it easier having a good reliable welding machine for field work and even work at home. also, is your machine just bolted to your riser platform in the truck?
@@MichaelJBerg I just acquired an ArcAir torch, i bought some carbon rods, 3/16 and 1/4 diameter. miller representatives told me to use only 3/16 carbons. supposedly my trailblazer 325 only has 280 amps for the carbon arc setting on the machine. Couldn't i get more power out of it by using the stick setting?
@@troyshuler4280 3/16 I find run the best! I do however reach for what I have on hand and sometimes that's 1/4". Three old girl bellers a little bit but does the job just fine. 🤫
I know this is an old video- but how has your airpak held up? I have two of them and have had a few problems with the idle control. Both are down right now.
Thanks for the great video after putting some hours on the machine. It is great to hear how these machines work straight from the guys that use them. What type of high frequency setup would you recommend to allow this unit to Tig aluminum?
Great video! I am down south where it’s humid, bought a bobcat 200 version of the air pak because we really didn’t need that much weld capacity....it doesn’t have an air cooler/dryer and it makes a lot of water even with a separator. It hasn’t really lived up to the hype....how has yours been? Will it handle 3/4” air impacts? Do you have an air tank under truck or anything like that? I think we are going to have to upgrade. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks for what you share!
Question? yes. u mentioned sign wave i think. or maybe hertz. (lol spelling) i am going to run plazma cutter off my lincoln ( like ur miller). i bought very large gas compressor as big as welder. AM I GOING TO HAVE PROBLEM WITH THE 120 OUTLET POWER RUNNING THE PLAZMA CUTTER? VOLTS WILL BE OK AND AMPS BUT WILL THE DEVEATION OF RPM HARM THE PLAZMA CUTTER?
Does your compressor make any noise when engaged? The reason I ask, my dumb ass dropped my machine. Im pretty scared I did internal damage to the rotary screw. It pumps air and all with no problem but it does make an odd noise when engaged
I been welding for 13 years I have few welders in my garage. I been thinking of buy 1 like urs. Start mobile welding on equipment and such. Any tips u would give thanks great video
i agree about fire. And hot day in bright sun when ur pants. are on fire will teach u that. keep fire extgr s ever 10 ft around work area. esp around a truck with several fameable fuel containers.
i am building a (8ftx17ft box van) shop. 4 large tool boxs(3x6x5ft high)+ 3 smaller (2x3x4ft high) boxs. And a work table. 150ft hose 150ft leeds200ft 10g extention cord. All inside. right front roll up door with steps and full roll up rear door.powered by datsun 4cyl diesel 1 ton dual wheel. auto with pto plate.
would like sugestions on lay out. from anybody with experience over 40. i cant pull small/short trailer cause i cant see behind( make it unhandy) This truck turns very sharp ..so tight places not a problem. plan on a winch up front bumper and run cables front to rear so i dont rip truck apart in mud.
thank you, I run an older 280 NT trailblazer. Baby runs like a dream with only 1300 hours on it. I use a t-30 air compressor for carbon arc. Your video gave me some confidence about running the carbon arc with plenty enough air and obviously plenty enough juice.
Cindy Russo About the same I would say. I've always work my earplugs since I've been welding. I don't weld workout them. So I guess I can't get an honest answer.
just right ,yeah I purchased the same machine last year and have put quite a bit of time on it welding and running air tools and have been really impressed especially with the compressor it has been more than worth the investment doing undercarriage work and general repairs
Thank you. I want to stick on flat bed with montezuma tool box beside it. Man that would save a lot of space. I never knew they had air compressors built in.
200 hr air compressor kicks in n out on low something it won't weld sometimes when I weld It say it on jump start called miller electric n say this thing sucks guy say I didn't build it call who u bought it from
Very slick setup. Especially the 302 miller
This video definitely helps me making my decision regarding what welding machine to get. Thanks for all the bonus tips on mobile weld repairs.
Good information. Thanks for the video. Sir

Finally bought mine, man oh man do I love it. Pumps out enough air to run any air tool I own and my gouge torch
I'm glad I could help you make a decision. You won't be sorry with your purchase.
I wish that Miller would make this machine with a diesel engine. Also nice truck.

I don't run allot of air tools other than carbon arc. Yes it produces plenty of moisture but only during the winter is it an issue

No noise. Just clicks in. Electric clutch. May want to take it to a Miller repair have it checked out.
