- Jet2 is the quintessential British low-cost carrier; operating cheap flights to sunny destinations on both old and new jets. The airline has 107 aircraft in its fleet and they serve 80 destinations from the UK across Europe and North Africa. Jet2's target clientele is young solo travelers and family vacationers looking for a "package holiday", where the flights, transportation, and accommodation are all booked together by a tour operator (such as Jet2 Holidays).
My flight from Tenerife was onboard one of Jet2's almost-retired 757s. They acquired 17 second-hand 757s almost two decades ago, and it's average fleet age of 33 years is expensive to upkeep and maintain.

757-200 such a beautiful aircraft. When I think of Tenerife always recall the infamous KLM PAN AM 747 disaster. May those who perished continue to rest in peace. Wonderful vlog as always! Thanks.
That occurred at the North airport where it is susceptible to wet weather. The day I flew home (2nd December) the south was sunny and warm but as we flew over the north it was foggy and overcast with torrential rain. Tenerife is an incredible place for micro climates.

Great video. Im surprised the 757 is still flying after so long. I once flew to the Maldives with Air 2000 in a 757... 30 years ago! I particularly loved your aerial photos of UK towns en route, especially Cardiff.. my home city.

@QFSAviation I loved this video and great to see the 757. I have many fond memories of these aircraft dating back to the 1980s when they were used by so many UK carriers to destinations across the globe. My favourites growing up were Monarch, Air 2000 and Caledonian and they took me on some great holidays over the years. Shame to think they shall be gone in the next couple of years. Great videos and I look forward to seeing more.

Hello, excellent video! I like that you bring out cool things from Tenerife!! I work as a passenger agent at TFS and the truth is that there are quite a few North Americans and more with the EWR-TFS route!!
Did this same route back in February 2023, I paid £178 for a one-way ticket and hoped that I wouldn't end up with a plane change! Joys of flying in the half-term holidays!!! When all was said and done I was really happy with Jet2 as well as getting what could be a final fling on a Boeing 757 in Europe!
Other than Icelandair thats about it.

Great video but i believe it costs more to park up at the airbridges so airlines like jet2 and Ryanair do not use them as it facilitates a quicker turn around. You do have very good manners, thanking all the crew. I hope you had q great Christmas and all the best for next year.
Jet2 mostly use airbridges unless they are all in use or they dont have them. But you are right it can facilitate quicker turnrounds but really depends on the airfield
Jet 2 is basically a step up from Allegiant with more choices on board!!!

In 2011, I experienced the Boeing 757 for the first time. In August 2017, I originally flew from Beijing to Xiamen and wanted to experience the Boeing 757 of Xiamen Airlines for the last time, but unfortunately I did not experience it. In the end, I took the Airbus A320 of China Eastern Airlines, in December 2018, China’s last Boeing 757 Xiamen Airlines retired honorably after flying for the last time on the domestic mainstream route from Shanghai Hongqiao to Xiamen.
This wasn't an enjoyable flight for you and wouid not have been mine either.

Thats not technically true about the boarding gate. I flew home from Tenerife just 3 weeks ago with Jet2 and we boarded by a gate to their A330. Previous year we boarded by a gate to a 737-800. Whoever told you that was fibbing, probably anti British/anti Brexit and making things sound bad 😉
I go everywhere with Yorkshire Airlines (Jet2) they're excellent!
Just wanted to also add, the description about Jet2 having old and uncomfortable planes is a bit naughty. Jet2 are spending an absolute fortune on their fleet. They've taken delivery of brand new A321NEO's. I'd rank Jet2 closer to TUI than Ryanair, they're not your traditional low cost airline but pride themselves on being affordable.
The 757's were purchased for their short lived UK to New York flights but they're moving to replacing their Boeing fleet with Airbuses.
I flew on one of their fresh out the wrapper A321NEO's just a few weeks back.
As someone who uses Easyjet, Ryanair, Transavia, KLM, Eurowings and Lufthansa quite regular I would comfortably say Jet2 are not the lower end of the spectrum any longer what with their investment.
