We Bought 8 Cars in TWO WEEKS (CoPart "Run and Drive" Scam) to Fix and Flip

  • We want a higher financial budget for our projects and race cars. So instead of waiting around for a miracle to happen out of thin air, Mena and I started buying cars to part out (selling good/ salvaged parts like body panels, engine swaps, transmissions ect) and tofix and flip.
we started with a Subaru WRX wagon that was wrecked, we doubled our original investment in 2 days and took the profits and bought more cars. We repeated this cycle until we were able to purchase 8 cars using only the original $1600 investment and the profits. This $1600 investment led to almost $25,000 in over all sales.
Flipping cars is not easy and find good deals is hard, but with a little luck and a lot of hard work we came extremely close to our original profit goal.

You guys did real well. You’re really hustling to make it work. Buying cars at auction is like gambling, but with better odds. 😂

Many of these people pull fuses and random electrical components to make them disabled and look worse than they are. They then go back and bid accordingly. It is a shame that the wholesale game is getting messed up that way. Even when people are given a decent opportunity to make good honest money they always seem to find ways to make more and at the very least keep raising their costs and profit as much as they can over and over until they eventually stop doing it. People suck the life out of things. Period. That is what they do.

The runs and drives or no run, all the stuff, all the time is wrong, they have SO many cars and don’t pay shut to employees, they don’t care, I’ve seen cars that were no runners they started up good and drove, cars they say run and won’t start even with jump, all the time, you literally gotta know what you are doing and never buy without checking yourself

Just looked it up, hiw is copart any different than you're local car auction just because they're global?? How do they get away with literally claiming something runs when it really doesn't it's baffling to me?? That whole issue with cleetus blew my mind that they would refund him, but if it was anyone else they would tell you to kick rocks??? I guess definitely look into what you're buying but will they let you do a leak down test on site, and do a real full inspection???

I personally work for co part and it’s really the ppl who take the pictures faults they’ll mark em as run and drive and the bosses won’t care enough to actually make sure they run and drive literally this last Friday a lady came to pick up a car that said run and drive, it had no battery she walked 2 miles to Walmart for a car battery put it in we jumped it nd it didn’t start some of the receivers like myself give a shit enough to do our jobs correctly but most just take the pics nd if it looks “good” they’ll mark it as drive

The first mistake someone makes when buying a car from Copart or IAA is thinking they have a SNOWBALL'S CHANCE IN HELL to actually win one of these auctions. Unless, of course, someone wants to pay as much for a salvaged vehicle as they would that same used, undamaged vehicle?
There is obvious evidence of "Shill Bidding" in these auctions, artificially driving up the final price of these vehicles when they're sold. Why someone in Ghana would want to buy a completely totalled 2014 Toyota Tacoma is beyond my comprehension. The fact that these companies even allow International bidding is complete and utter nonsense.
I need a part for my Honda. I think I'll look for it at an auction yard in Saudia Arabia, even though I live in the USA. Makes so much sense, right?
Oh, and don't get me started on how Copart likes to relist, or "reassign", vehicles for sale after the live auction has ended and the highest bidder has already won the vehicle. Then, Copart will send an email to the winning bidder, and all previous bidders, saying: "We're Sorry, This Lot Has Been Reassigned and All Previous Bids Have Been Canceled. The Lot(vehicle) Will Be Reauctioned Starting At The Previous Highest Bid."
Despite the fact that the vehicle was listed as a "Pure Sale" in which the vehicle gets sold to the highest bidder regardless of the final price, there is no "reserve" price to be met.
Yet another way of them fucking people over when the vehicle doesn't sell for the amount they(Copart), or the insurance company, wanted.
Fucking scam. Don't waste your time or money here at these auctions. You are buying someone else's problem.
