He would hit up offer up , Craigslist and Facebook marketplace place because you'll be able to find some really good deals there too and avoid paying taxes and all these fees from the auction that can easily add up to 1-2k alone. I've purchased a number of cars from facebook marketplace that need either a motor or transmission but are 2013 and up for dirt cheap
