Vinland saga is a masterpiece.The character of Thorfinn, no matter how stupid it sounded, made me change as a person, change my worldview, become kinder, more modest, for which I am very grateful to Yukimura!

For me...i read the manga multpile times as a teen- and bounced off season 2. Honestly i wasnt ready for it- i was still a so angry and hurt by what had happened to me that Thorfinns rage and anger in the first arc, as silly as it sounds, felt cathartic to me. It felt powerful. He could react to his rage in a way i could only imagine....and i wasnt ready to see what impact it had on him and the people around him- or how it was just another manifestation of the cycle of violence that first traumatised him...
I wasnt ready to see that another way was possible
And then i grew up, and got therapy, and now the farm saga is one of my favourite part of any story, ever.
I hope one day i grow enough to understand this story in its entirety

I hate how "I have no enemies." has become such a meme and that folks think that Thorfinns development stops there, thats just step 1.
A world where everyone watched this show and did their absolute best to follow its themes, would create a “paradise on Earth” that Canute wanted. The effort of every person to be that kind person is what is needed, hence the “one sheep can lead the whole flock towards a cliff”.
Some of the most genuine joy and love I've seen from ya man. This really musta rocked ya hard. I'm glad that things this genuine and deep exist today.
For me, a series that changed my life recently was Yakuza/Like a Dragon, which taught me some very valuable lessons, about sacrifice, acceptance, not running away, and giving back to those you love.
I might not watch Vinland Saga soon, but I believe others should. Being taught true pacificism is important in my opinion.

Thank you for this video, Vinland Saga changed my life has well, I've went from a non-caring asshole who believe everyone was my enemy and that I shouldn't have empathy towards anyone, to a husk with no purpose when my whole purpose was to live my life with my 3 friends against the whole world, then I lost my friends because of my own actions and lost my purpose, I'm a new man today, I learned true pacifism, I developped empathy and wisdom, I'm also a buddhist now trying to enter a monastery.
Thorfinn is us, it's so easy to let aversion consume us and guide us, play favorites but then the ones we justified everything for go away, friendships, romances, families, nothing is eternal.
True love is indiscriminate, we should never hurt people by playing favorites, we should strive to have empathy for all living being who suffer in this world. Thorfinn will help us learn the way c:

I feel like Vinland Saga (along with a few other shows) has become a bit overhyped/overrated.
But that doesn't mean I dislike it. I just don't like it as much as other people do. And that's fine.
