I would like to visit Darien....seems like a nice little party town.....and free to tie up! It seemed like Elliot was a bit inebriated at the end of the video. 🤪
Growing up in and around Savannah, I used to get to Darien often. Great place to visit. Used to have two awesome restaurants Buccaneer and Pelican Point that got their seafood directly off the fishing boats. Incredibly fresh. Sadly, heard the Buccaneer burned. Enjoying keeping up with you.
Oh dang! We heard that the shrimp boat moored just next to the free dock frequently sells its shrimp locally if you come on certain days? Thanks for the comment Andy!
Also Andy there was Archies used to be right behind the bridge on 17. We sold seafood to all 3 from time to time. Our family owned Mathews Seafood in Savannah.
Looks like a great spot you found, new adventures. I think Ollie is a camera ham, on bridge looking over your shoulder near end of video. Classie video guys. Aloha!
We have been enjoying your videos. Great job!! Doing the Loop is a dream of ours. Could you show in one of your videos the process of dumping your black/grey tanks, water filling and fueling up? Also how often do you have to do this? Thanks so much.
Awesome! Thanks for watching Colleen! We should be able to squeeze some footage in of that in some upcoming videos. No grey water onboard as sinks and showers drain overboard! Water lasts us about 2 weeks and about the same for our black water tanks 😁
You are BLESSED, that looked like a really great spot. nothing beats free dockage. When we go up and down the Champlain Canal they have free dockage along some walls. with water and free power, we always take advantage of those places for sure. Man that tide was ripping at 9:13 looked to in your favor. not so much in your favor at 10:31
The tide totally rips through this area! We are looking forward to the locks up there in the different Canadian waterways and along the Eerie! Thanks for watching James 🤙
That's funny you've never been to Darien with the time you've spent in area growing up. Oh wait, neither have I. Georgia Outdoors, GPTV, did a show on the Altamaha river and included Darien. Haven't watch entire video yet, but was such a significant trading port in lumber had a US and foriegn consulates there.
Oh thats pretty neat! Just goes to show, there are so many places to explore - even in our own backyards! Will have to try and find that video somewhere...
I bet it was a real treat to be able to step onto a dock right from Pivot! I hope you all had fun at the festival…it sounded like it was going to be a really fun time! How does Ollie react to alligators or do you not let her see them?
I think Ollie doesn’t know Alligators exist haha. Good thing too - we want their worlds to be as separated as possible haha. Thanks for watching Suzanne!
Yep, mostly travel on the ICW but go into other rivers to anchor or dock. Darien was pretty far off the ICW (for a day trip) and St. Marys, GA was off the main route of the ICW too. We hope to do more off-shoots in the future!
Those were given to us by a fellow looper, C-Life. They are supposed to help you remember which side the markers have switched on the waterway but we just keep it as a memento 😁
Hi! You should put on your editing the name of the places like written, if that sounds like i imagine, Im Miguel from México, and i like alot viewing your videos, and i like to trace your route on Google Maps at the same time, it will help alot if you put the name of the Rivers like when you left the icw for another place and stuff, sorry for my broken english😅
@@SchoandJo Nice, I have heard good things about that. Hope you have a chance to stop at Mackinac Island, that is a really unique place. Also to Sue locks are not far if you want to make a side trip to lake superior and Michigans Upper peninsula.

Blessing of the Fleet is something that happens every spring at my marina. So yes, they will bless your boat.
awesome job docking in darien ... had to rewatch in slo-mo to appreciate the masterful job lassoing the dock cleat ...
Haha thanks! I’m lucky Jen is amazing with our lines!
Ollie is a joy to watch.

Darien looked super awesome (and so did the Mexican food)! Can’t wait to see more in the next video. And a FREE dock WITH water?! What a win! 🙌🏼

Do you plan to go through Canada or the great lakes the you get up north?
That's the plan! Most likely the Trent-Severn Canal 🤙
