Just imagine if every Catholic Church in America and across the world, was this beautiful. And if every Catholic Church did these traditional prayers during Lent. And of course had the traditional Latin Mass every Sunday. We would be better formed true Catholics. And actually treasure and adore the rich traditions in Catholic heritage. Thank you sensus fidelium for broadcasting this. Jean.
I know one thing I’m going to experience every step of Holy Week and will search for a Church here in the States that honors each day as it was pre1955...Save my nickels & dimes and go on a trip where I can go experience/participate in each one of these Masses throughout Holy Week...
I think Vatican 2 was a complete failure. When I was younger we were told it would fill the churches. There were 15 people in the church for The Good Friday reading of the Passion of the Lord today.
I just came back from a post-1955 Holy Week Tenebrae service at my Diocesan parish that does TLM on Sundays. I was hoping Steve had a pre-1955 version up. Wow, they are so different, it's sad. Only remnants in the post-1955 of the wickedness of our enemies and the petitions to Our Lord to help deliver us from their evil ways. I am convinced now more than ever that we have to go back to the pre-1955 Holy Week. There's a reason why the Revolutionaries changed that first, before the Novus Ordo and VII. Without the extensive descriptions in the Psalms of the sorrows and pains of living in evil times, the banging and revealing the Christ candle at the end has much less emotional weight. It's still there, just greatly reduced. Anyways, thank you and God Bless you Steve. When I get out of my usurious debt-slavery in a couple years, I'll be sure to donate to you, St. Joan of Arc (for the Bible Studies with Fr. Gordon and their Palm Sunday service), and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.
Never mind, i found out. It is to signify the earthquake that erupted at the moment of the Resurrection 😊 here is a link for more info: www.jeffgeerling.com/articles/religion/tenebrae

The modernists gave us the Novus Ordo, a corruption of the true Mass and did away with almost all Catholic tradition.

I'll never forget these evenings. I can hear certain voices I may never hear again. Bittersweet. Thanks, Steve, for leaving these recordings on YT.

Is this found in the Baronius Press 1962 Daily Missal ? It has Tenebrae in English and Latin
I'm not sure if they changed anything in tenebrae in 1961 breviary. Could be unchanged
Yes it is . Pages: Thursday 1779, Friday 1811, Saturday 1842.
What is the significance of the drumming at 2:09:00?

Had to bump that number of likes to 667 😳
Interesting. Why is this one over 2 hours when usually it’s about 1.5 hours? What is different about this one?
