I think I need to print the office in latin and then make a set with the psalms and other writtings from the Bible in my own language. This will be homework for next year. I had 2 years of latin in highschool so I understand around 60-70% of the written material but just listening to chanting….I'm lost . Beautiful tenebrae office...I didn't know anything about the old rites to be honest. I'm just letting the grace flow through me and beggining to study
Years ago these services were 3-4 hours long. On Holy Thursday we went from church to church in procession. With everything so watered down, people can’t even stay for the final blessing after a 40 minute mass.
