Man I totally did the same thing back in the day with Twisted Metal..I'd start a match and take the disc out and put in a music CD. The downside was that you couldn't skip tracks tho.
Warcraft 2 for PC had this feature as well. Instead of using your MIDI controller (usually a pretty bad Sound Blaster chip) you could hear the music as intended while gaming
What’s pretty cool is that putting Sega Saturn games into ps2 consoles won’t bring up a red screen of death, but instead just plays the disc as if it were a CD since the CD function was such a major part of Saturn games.
I can't think of a single PS owner growing up who didn't know this
I dont remember doing this. I do remember starting GTA on the Playstation then taking the game disc out and putting a music CD in. That way you could listen to a CD while you play the already loaded game. That was the only PS1 trick I remember
Exactly. I'd play NIN while playing PS1
I was a kid when the ps1 was out so yeah didn't know this, i do remember Croc tho.....that needs a remaster which we'll never get
Oh, well…. This is awkward.
@@cc3230 hahahahah
I think most players put their game CDs into CD players to see what would happen lol.
Or if they read the instruction manual lol.
That’s what I did 😂
The true big brain move is putting it in a DreamCast and using the CD player feature to listen to PlayStation games
PlayStation: *plays soundtrack on CD Player*
Sega: *plays demonic guitar riffs with a creepy women speaking*

like SpongeBob
Talocan or Bikini Bottom; on which part?😅
SOTN had a hidden easter egg if you did this. Alucard would say something like "this is a game disc not an audio cd..." and then it played this cool hidden song
What’s SOTN

@@NoobOfShame Then someone asked.
@@NoobOfShame Okay. I didn't understand that you were joking.
My brother in christ, we all knew this.
Same with a Sega Saturn, Dreamcast and possibly a 3D0
