I remembered the initial reaction to Jin when he was first revealed in the arcades. He was the first hidden character revealed. Cool new fighting style in place of the Mishima style he used in T3 and TTT1, but was considered weak and underwhelming. Then people figured out the just frame laser scraper and, along with a bunch of other moves, suddenly players found him to be broken. Good times.
@user-dv4pz7qj6x You're thinking story, I am talking gameplay back then. We went from two games with Mishima Karate Jin to traditional karate Jin, and combined with all the changes from TTT1 to T4, this version of Jin seemed weak. Once people got a better idea of how to play T4 and learned to master just frame moves, then we learned he was very strong.
Ah, the stages. The game itself. Absolutely magnificent. This game was the birth of Jin Kazama. All other previous games was just Devil jin. And, ya i feel happy my main was absolutely busted in this game.
I think everything about this game was perfect. The amazing stages, the fact that you have to unlock some characters, Tekken Force, Team battle and so much more 😁
tekken 4: best stages with ppls acutally running inside the stage - structures to destroy etc overall best themes first 60hz tekken ever so smooth gameplay and you can move before the fight started :p still my most favourite tekken of all time it just feels so alive and immersive compared to other tekken games
If I am not wrong, certain floor elevations of stages affected the combos in this game, right? Like a slope could make a combo drop? I remember thinking this added a certain level of nuance on this game
That's a lot easier said than done. The problem is the assumption that overturning everybody will somehow not result in a few characters who are clearly above everyone else.
The airport stage is literally one of the best tekken stages ever, if not the best. But tekken 7 did get some good stages like geese stage, kuni stage, akuma stage, beach paradise, souq, mishima dojo (especially with mods), hammerhead, dragon's nest, infinite azure, and a few others.
@@edgelord121 Now imagine Hammerhead without those shitty bars. That's the airport stage. That's what makes T4 stages special. T7 stages are all boxes with some background that you don't really have time to give a shit about. T6 was much better now that I think about it because it was much closer to how T4 used to be. Remember that stage in China with pigs? There is common folk cheering for characters and you can run into them in the process. Fiesta del tomato is great too. These stages interact with players. With modern technologies they could design Fiesta del tomato in such a way that characters would get splattered with tomatoes all over them and such. That'd be sick.
The regular Laser scaper was unblockable, but steppable. What was broken is when the hit move hit you on the side, even on block the last move isn't steppable
Tekken 4 was my very first Tekken game and funny enough, Jin was my main back then. This game has a different place in my heart and this game is the best out of all Tekken games in my opinion. I feel nostalgic now😅
Damn! Jin was broken in this game. But Tk4 was a diamond in the rough looked amazing for a 2001 ps2 game and I ❤️ the shopping mall stage insane water effect.👍
I remember seeing somewhere that Jin dominated the early days of Tekken 4's competitive scene because of JFLS but then people slowly started to catch up (Miharu seems to be a decent counter pick) but then Jin rose back up again when people remembered he has more than just one move...
Bro Look at your views and subscribers. So manyyyy. I don’t always comment But i really Watch every Video . Congrulations to you Brother ❤️🙏 wish you more and more , keep your Good content
I will honestly argue that T4 Jin is stronger than T5 Steve by the fundamental standpoint. Because Jin was much more all around and simpler and with how safe and powerful his tools are It`s almost impossible to do any mistakes. While Steve being absolute OP and yes dealing much more dmg quicker and faster than T4 Jin still required much more precision otherwise he`d get punished by T5`s OP roster.
Fun fact : Whiff was introduced in T6. Where that moves has a slower recovery on whiff. If you whiff an attack before T6, it will act as a hit not as a whiff. So it makes sense if Jin's parry don't have any recovery frames.
@@catfishaust what i meant is, when a move whiffs, the recovery is the same if the move hits, and then T6 introduced this thing where it will have a slower recovery on whiff

The Original Sin: Tekken 4 Jin
You paid a price for this ultimate power in Tekken 4 sadly
*re-birth you mean
I think everything about this game was perfect. The amazing stages, the fact that you have to unlock some characters, Tekken Force, Team battle and so much more 😁
if this was the birth of Jin Kazama then Tekken 5 Jin must be a baby being dropped by its supposedly dead mother lol
@@parry3439 hahaha exactly, are ya proud of that one, op?
Jin looks like he's raving with all those parry inputs.
Loving these retrospective videos on past Tekken characters! Can't wait to see more

Why does this game look better than tekken 7 🤔
👀
WHY IS IT CALLED "while standing" WHEN THE GAME SPECIFICALLY SAYS "WHILE RISING"
Idk😂
it's just like Paul's Phoenix Smasher being called Death Fist
Because when you write "ws" everyone knows what it means since "wr" means while running.
because in the infinite wisdom of fighting game enthusiasts' abbreviative verbiage the word 'sprinting' wasn't hip; so wr (running) and wr (rising) were a problem, so they said fuck it , while standing and while running ( ws , wr ) , even tho the word 'sprinting' exists.... so they could have used ws ( while sprinting) and wr (while rising) but it stuck anyways...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .....I hope I didn't make your eyes glaze over reading this shit 😂
