I love his Journey, Homelander and everyone constantly looks down on him and underestimate him. Yet he’s proven time and time again to be a much braver and honorable man than the rest of them.
I really like how the meaning of the words "Keep your hands clean" completely changes after Hughie kills Translucent.
Before, the poster seemed to be goading him; immediately after he is literally covered in blood, he realizes that his hands are now dirty, and he's never going to get the blood off them again.
Yeah, more like he had realized that his hands had never since been clean since the death of Robin, forced blood. This time he was willing to make them dirty, it was too late to go back. Translucent was basically telling him the same thing, and I imagine after seeing the poster, it set in how much mockery he had endured.

I heard another meaning which said something along the lines of, before he killed translucent the poster meant to not do anything stupid but after he killed translucent it meant to not be caught red handed
Can we just admire how well Simon Pegg plays Hughies dad? Such a great character with a great actor playing him.
Simon Pegg was the visual inspiration for Hughes in the comic.

I mean, it's true that he is somewhat useless, but he's kind of the counselor to everyone, is his redeeming trait.

@@sebastiansmith1223 , actually, he's the opposite of useless. He stood up to both A-Train and Ezekiel, and intimidated Ezekiel into revealing what he needed to know, despite having no superpowers. He goaded and distracted A-Train so that the Female could break his leg. He's stayed alive through a lot of crap that would have killed everyone else. He's following the same arc as in the comic book; starting out as weak and apparently useless, but he keeps coming through over and over again, surprising even Butcher.
They work hard to make it seem that way; Wee Hughie went through the same character arc in the comic books; slowly gaining stature and importance as it went along.
@@maskedmarvyl4774 I really hope this is true, cus he's my favorite character. and my favorite stores are when the underdog becomes stronger. and I heard he gets superpowers in the comics. I really hope that's true too. I don't want to get spoiled on any other thing but could you confirm if the part about him getting powers is true? I really hope it is.

The fact that the fall of the seven began bc a-train its ironic and hilarious.
I relate the most to Hughie and in the first episode I immediately felt shell shock, as he held her hands she was ripped apart, in his arms, imagine that, the pain
A train is basically one of those people drunk driving killing someone on "accident" and only remorseful when caught. There's no way they can redeem this character even after what he done to season 3.
That’s sadly true, if he had even looked back, I know he couldn’t stop running at that time, imagine if he turned around and had a look of remorse and jf he never made those jokes, he may have been redeemable

Hughie is the most relatable out of all the characters
Prediction: At the end of season 3 as war between the Boys and the Seven goes public, I think everyone but Hughie will take compound V. Because the others will view it as a necessity while Hughie will view it as a dangerous escalation and opt not to take it. Despite not taking the compound V he'll be the one to save the day.
i think the s3 trailer might’ve disproved that

Hughie is the one of the braviest in the show along with Queen Maeve, Butcher and Kimiko
The Fact that they plot armored A-Train's ass so much not even 2 deaths could get him killed ... Its like the Last of Us 2 all over again where the asshole gets to live after the huge mess he made .

1:50 See, this is why A Train's apologize was meaningless and why he has no moral high groun, even over Blue Hawk. He has killed indiscriminately for years laughing about the casualties like they were bugs. He's one of the worst in The Seven.
The guy says '' it was a long time ago, just move on'', but he doesn't have the guts to say ''is there anything I can do so you can feel better''.
Hughie is such a great character
Hughie's character development continued in season 2 nicely. Specially annie and hughie scene with song of pressure was perfect. That was one of the best i have ever seen in my life.
