Really excellent work though!!!
No, you see the batman boob window is so much deeper than that; batman's boob window visually symbolises that he feels like he doesn't really belong anywhere, he is an outcast just like his chest piece, and that a piece of him is missing ever since his parents tragic death. So if you're sexualising batman because he has his wonderfully sculpted pecs splayed out at all times, you just don't understand the beauty of the metaphor or his character... And yes this is a poor and forced powergirl reference/joke.
Loving the darker, more realistic colours. Looks great but can understand why, from a gameplay and technical perspective, they wouldn't have used that. You know what would be amazing to see; if you did Superman and maybe even Wonder Woman (the DC Trinity) in this style.

This is really cool, it makes me wish I had seen the Keaton Batman movies! At least then, I could've had a crack at the mystery item 🦇😅 The blue/purple tones are really nice to see too - they remind me of some older interpretations of Batman. Like the one from the Justice League show, which is still probably my favourite version of the character. The redrawn sprite looks like it could be an alternative suit from the game too! Like a more armoured up version 🤺 Speaking of which, it's good timing that the digital release of The Batman is just tomorrow. I can't wait to see it!! 🤩
Thanks! Yeah I always kind of flip between my favourite looks for the character - the animated appearances are quite iconic; I'm also a fan of the blue and grey sometimes like in Dark Knight Returns. It's interesting how versatile the design is in that way ✨🦇 And yeah that's right, looking forward to that new film as well - the upcoming release must have been in the back of mind and that's why I was doing this work 😅

Hello, first, i have to say, your channel is amazing, you are really talented and It's been motivating me to start pixel art ! But I have an issue on Photoshop, when I start putting on some pixels on the screen, they are always wide apart from a really thin space. I looked everywhere on Photoshop and on Internet but couldn't find anything. If anyone know about this issue, please let me know !
I think the original had a better look with the chest. The ..4 pack didn't really translate well, and forced his body to face more to the viewer than in a dynamic ready-to-punch-you pose. Tbh, the original one has almost no room for improvement, it's pretty optimal. It's an interesting take, tho
if you are going to put "nes tyle" on the title, at least try to use the nes style, which includes all the limitations of it not this just random normal pixel art style that has only 2 colors being a reference to the nes version
It would be interesting to see you create these NES style sprites with more of an understanding of the limitations of the NES. NES sprites can only have 3 colors as they are all 2 bits per pixel. Adding a 4th color means you're actually layering another 8x8 sprite on top, which would increase the chance of flickering (which occurs because the NES can't draw more than 8 of these 8x8 sprites in a single horizontal scanline, or 64 total). There are cases where a 4th color is added, such as in the Mega Man sprite, but if you pay attention the extra color is all applied to his face, which is in one 8x8 pixel region. Your Bruce Wayne character, for example, would need to have at least 3 additional sprites (on top of a character that is already like 3 sprites wide by 4 sprites tall), one for each hand and one for the face. That's like 15/64 sprites alone for a single character, and 5 of those sprites would be on the same horizontal scanline, leaving only 24 horizonal pixels of room for anything else before flickering starts. I think you're an excellent pixel artist, but to really grow to be like the greats of the era, it would be cool to see you try to work within the same technical limitations that they had.
6:29 - It's been a while since I saw a Batflick, but I think (emphasise that) '89 was the one where Bruce used like a tray or something as improvised cover? I 'unno. Whatever it is, it looks shiny, and I'm fairly, fairly certain Bruce can afford nice, shiny trays.

How can we create pixel art in PS at 100% zoom? Tried messing with pencil properties and custom grid but cant get it to "snap" to it
