Robbie, I have to tell you that I was watching your live hummingbird video and heard you talking on your phone about you and Gary going gluten free. You were telling someone (on the phone) to try going gluten free for three weeks, to see if their arthritis pain and inflammation subsided. I ended up buying some gluten free sour dough bread at Whole foods (freezer section) and some gluten free flour on Amazon. After 10 days, my extremely painful and inflamed hip joints are no longer killing me! They were so inflammed, that I was using a cane to help me walk! I actually was able to work in my garden today, without the fear of falling. Additionally, I noticed this morning that I haven't had to use Afrin nasal spray, in order to breathe. I've been using Afrin twice a day, for the past year, just so that I could breathe. I'm thinking that my issue was caused by gluten! i am so grateful, that I tuned into your channel that day! I just can't tell you how thankful I am! Thank you, for all that you do to help others!
Omg wonderful, Gary had similar issues now all gone! Thanks for sharing this ❤️ take care
That’s amazing! I’m feeling the same. Also have to give up beer due to gluten. My eczema flares up at the same time my joint pain! I wish that carb blockers blocked gluten too.
@mam564 Great news! Also listen to Robbie's videos about the mint teas she makes. Drinking her mint teas have helped me big time.
@@tennesseenana4838 I just watched Robbie's videos on mint tea! I didn't think anything would work for crepy skin or age spots! This is absolutely amazing! I'm definitely on the lookout for chocolate mint now! 😀 Thanks for the tip!
So gluten, aka bread? Just to be specifi......w/b
I absolutely love how you recycle so many items--ladders, used totes, toy stroller, etc. And how Gary finds so many awesome recyclable items-from wood chips to too many things to list. You have my highest admiration for "turning trash in to treasure".
We were able to successfully grow sugar baby watermelon this season and the kids are delighted! We also grew them and squash in our compost bins. Love growing in compost, nothing beats the rich soil. Thanks sharing.
So glad 😀
Ate my 1st. Cantaloupe today! In my tote garden!
I found my first monarch caterpillar in one of my milkweed plants. I put it in an outdoor tulle and enclosure. I was gathering milkweed for the caterpillar to eat and I noticed a monarch butterfly egg so I have that in the enclosure to hatch. I can’t wait to see if it’ll become a beautiful butterfly and if both make it then I’ll be super happy! Greetings to You both Robbie and Gary! Thank you for all the information and lovely tours.
The diversity in your garden is just amazing! 😃🌱🌸🌸🌿🌿🍅🫑🌶🍕
I love your garden tours. And please feel free to eat and taste stuff from your garden. We enjoy learning how things taste, yumm! Thanks Robbie :-)
Heads up y’all! If you want to find the horned worms 🐛 wait until the sun goes down then use a really bright flashlight 🔦. They are busy at night while the birds 🐦 are sleeping 😴. 😁
🇬🇧 I got annoyed at having to cut zip ties and wasting them but I have now found a reusable type which are super.
That's a great idea with the stacking. I'm going to do something similar next year on top of my raised beds with drip. Just water the top buckets and let the water drip down to the ground plants.
You are a Great Woman with your environment for the 🐦.Theyneed you!! Thank goodness for people like you my dear! Blessings and best wishing and growings!
Thank you so much
Wow! View is great.
I watch your gardening tours like a movie. A really good one too.
Thank you so much 😊
Thank you dear for sending me this video I hope you had a good day♥️🖤♥️
Only an observation, if you don't mind, you seem happier than usual. I hope it's about something positive in your life. Thank you both for uplifting videos.
My little vegetable garden has gone downhill but at last my espaliered apple tree gave me little fruits (did not thin, is why). Berry bushes & peaches are done.
YOU BREEZE THRU SO FAST ! I LEARN A TON! BUT I WAS LOOKING FOR WHAT YOUR TITLE SAID CUCUMBERS TRICKS! ❤😂
I saw dragon fruit at Walmart for $6. Expensive fruit.
So grow your own, I saw at a supermarket $9 per fruit!
Thanks for explaining how you upload to YT. Not as simple as we assume. Thanks for putting in the time and effort to share your garden and knowledge. We appreciate it and you!
Hi Robbie, I love your long videos. Everything looks good to me. 🧡
Your dinosaur kale is my favorite and papaya Im growing both thanks tot you!
Oh I forgot to mention I'm still growing Eggplants also. YAY!
Very good, interesting plant, mine are still growing here and I hope it grows into the winter, an odd plant at times, grows when you least expect it sometimes. Take care
I'm so happy you do your own thing and don't listen to what others say about the way that you garden! In fact, I really enjoy the way you encourage people to do their own thing. Live and let live!
Thank you so much!
Its October 8th here today and I'm still picking peppers and tomatoes here in Pennsylvania. It's amazing I'm usually pulling everything out by now and getting ready for the following year.🐾🐾🍅💕👍🙏🦎🐕
You are so very resourceful, Robbie! You have given me many ideas to protect my garden from winter weather changes as well as from pests. Thank you!
Oh my you are so welcome, just so glad to hear that I can be of any help at all, thanks so much 🌱
I'm watching and learning. I had so much rain this season my garden has been productive.
that is amazing to hear what do you have growing in your garden?
I love your garden. it's beautiful. I have hot pepper in my raised bed. love them to make Jamaican Patties I cut them down and it still given peppers.
You and Gary amaze me!
Waiting for the new way to get food for your gardening. Interesting....
Always liked your rainbow chair garden. But...
How do you level your chair totes enough so they drain forward?
Cracked up when i saw the humorous whimsy of the kiddie car dolly you're using to move totes ❣️A real hoot 🥳
The chairs seem to settle in just fine in our hard soil, and I don’t mind which way they tip if they tip forward then they drain completely if they tip back then they hold some water for the plants, so either way is fine for us here in Southern California. I still have that little trolley, I need to do something special with it, 😊 thank you so much. ❤️
You should see my Purple Tree Collard I planted from seed. It’s 6ft and the stem is the size of a baseball bat. You have to get good seeds.
Gtrgenie… can I ask where you got your seeds?
@@S.Kay.Steffy They are very healthy and vigorous plants. It’s a mix of about 4 varieties. I planted about 20 seeds to make sure I got the Purple Tree Collards. The breeding Dan did is top notch.
Great tour
I hope you show us when you have re organize your backyard I am sure it will be beautiful 🥰🥰👍👍💕💕
Your garden is looking good Robbie, thank you for sharing.
I love all you videos! You give me such Great ideas to try in my small garden! Thank you so much!
Robbie, I enjoyed the garden tour!🙂 You sure have a lot of delish food growing.👍 I enjoy your experiment too.
Robbie I have been gardening for years, but I got to tell you I've learned so much from your channel, thank you so much for all your great tips! One thing is I never knew a tomato plant is a perennial! The use of tile great idea I'm ordering some! Your rainbow chair garden, my back is always giving me trouble, great idea, so I've been looking at thrift stores! Just great ideas, and your hummingbirds, just wow! Much love! ❤❤
I meant to type tulle!
Chairs make life so much easier and works great, Thanks so much 😊❤️
HOW DO YOU MAKE THE TOPS WITH THE NETTING? THE CONTAINERS WITH THE LIDS? IS IT AS SIMPLE AS IT LOOKS? HOW DO YOU GET THE STRIPS TO TURN INTO HANDLES AND HOOP LIKE THAT! LOVE IT! I USE THE NETTING THRU OUT MY GARDEN ALL THE COLORS TO DRIVE MY HOA CRAZY LOL 😂😂😂😂❤ MY BACK YARD IS T THEIR BUSINESS AND I EAT WHAT I GROW ORGANIC ! GETTING MY HUMMINGBIRDS NICE AND FED AND WATERED WITH YOUR IDEAS FOR FOUNTAINS ! THANK YOU! ❤
Great video Robbie. I feel better about my inability to get everything done when I watch you with all you've accomplished still falling short on time. It seems like gardening is something you just can't put a limit on. There's always something more to do because gardening isn't static it's alive!
One question. What is that accordion style trellis?
Great video! X 🇬🇧
YOU SAID THE RABBITS DONT LIKE THE GARLIC , MINE DEVOUR MY GARLIC BEFORE I CAN GET IT TO GROW ! THEY EVEN WILL CRAWL UNDER THE TOLLE TO GET TO IT! GARLIC CHIVES!
Trying frying the sliced eggplant thats dips in egg :D
Sand will assist your watermelon plant’s soggy roots. I know it’s heavy to haul, but it’s available in streams freely & sand will keep the roots aerated & neutralize a little of the acidity in the high compost soils :)
Robbie, if possible I would love to take 1 small papaya tree of your hand.
Omg. What kind of weather do you get in the canyons? I'm in the Inland Empire. My collard tree is just sitting there staring at me like... "Wait woman. It's too hot!" 😆
Lately it’s been cool in the morning and cool at night and then during the day gets really hot. As soon as the weather changes your collard should be happy. 🙂
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy Wow. Lucky Y'all!
Question? Do you rotate what you plants in totes? I love your method and have had great success but don’t know how I can rotate planting when I mostly grow tomatoes, peppers, squash and cucumbers. Several are nights hades or same family. Do I need to be concerned? I live in Oregon. I plan to compost in place in my totes over the winter and plant some red clover to top off soil. My garden has been huge success thanks to your ideas.
No need to rotate as long as yr adding new leaves & organic matter or change the dirt once plants die down if yr concerned
I always confused the year. Since last night, I
confuse time too.
Just think about gardening soon that should make you feel great 😊
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy that's literally the only reason I feel better. 👍
Hello Robbie, what is the name of the little potatoes that you can eat raw or cooked? I’d love to try growing some next year. I’ll try many of your tips then too. Thanks so much.
My goodness, your many gardens have so much going on it’s like walking and chatting for miles. Do you or have you ever used a pedometer when giving these tours? I’m curious how many miles these tours cover. You’d be a great AM walking partner.
How do you plant in a tote? Do you just lay the pot in the tote? Thank you. Really enjoy your show!
Fig trees? What kind. None of mine have smooth leaf edges?
Carrots is it true they don't like rich soil mine didn't get very large I used fish emulsion several times and rich soil ? Oh well next year 😊😊😊🦋🦋🦋🦋
Too rich soil - will only get leaves growing - don’t fertilize so much any root veggies
I would love to live near you to help and learn from you!! where is your art work?
I hope some how you see this but you pointed out around time marker 37:15 tomatoes that tasted really good. What are the names of them
Never heard of pepino
Robbie Gary your garden is really huge how big is the acre
Can't you guys would like a sprinkler timers in there so Dirk stays moist and the plants won't die
How many curly kale would you put in a tote?
If potato mint lower carb than potatoes? I haven't been able to find out online. Ty.
t 15:30 -what is the big square white container with hinges on it? What was it a part of?
Is the broccoli that you grow different to what we have in Australia with a big head?
DO YOU ADD WATER TO YOUR BUCKETS OF COLLARD CLIPPINGS FOR JUICE FOR THE PLANTS (COMPOST BUCKETS?)
Please tell me what are walking onions???
How do you keep deer out of your garden?
I tried growing pearl onions, not successfully but I tried!!! Will they grow in the second year?
Stupid questions...what does Dragonfruit taste like and can I grow it in Wa. state?
Can you eat dragon fruit. I have a plant but its never had any fruit
Need to hand fertilize flowers - see Robbie’s video on it
Have you try pineapple mint?
Hello all fans of Robbie and Gary. Does anyone remember where Robbie gets the best deal on the green. tomatoe stakes? Robbie mentioned them before in an older video and I've gone through a lot of the older videos but have not yet found where the best place to get them is yet.
I think it was at the dollar tree store
@@laraehlers2447 Thank you Lara, I will go looking there.
Can get at Daiso (Japanese import store )too in spring time ( seasonal item)
I know youre in sunny Cali- are you able to grow all year and in all light conditions? Are any of your fruiting food plants in any shady areas at all?
I never see you planting green beans
Is dragon fruit good? What does it taste like?
May I ask what you do with ALL the produce you and Gary grow? I can't imagine the 2 of you eating this much? Do you preserve, can, dehydrate or freeze dry? Just wondering.
We use lots, give some to friends and family, FREEZE for the Winter, and compost back to continue to make our rich great soil, Thanks and Take care
How do you keep bunnies n other animals from eating it all?
I love papaya do you sell seeds?
No, but we grew ours from store bought fruit
Do you put holes in the bottom of your buckets 🪣👍👍?.?.
Are usually put the holes a little bit up so they hold some water if I’m planting them. Thanks so much 😊🌱🍅
Imagine my annoyance when I checked my compost in place and saw that some critter came and dug out the rotting food and ate it. What do I do now?
Put more topsoil on top of rotting food & clip tulle down firmly - also helps to raise over with metal clips or clothespins -also helps to raise up yr tote onto a chair so animal has more difficulty reaching tote
How do you make compost tea ???
This will answer your question ❤️ ruclips.net/video/z60Rqt219S8/видео.html
Is that white sage left of the peppermint?
Yes I am growing a light sage
What do you do with tomatillos?
I make salsa out of them, I put them in my stirfry, and I freeze them 😊
do you use rooting powder to do cuttings?
Haha watch more of her videos. She is a simple person, though very creative. I was always insecure about just putting seeds and seedl8ngs everywhere. She has helped me to grow all over the place, in anything and trying different things. I have to say - everything grows. Even when things die, more other things grow. Plus I learn for example that I have to protect my seedlings more. Anyways, the top lesson I learned from her: Grow, just grow. Put seeds, cuttings etc anywhere, everywhere.
Yee Vita totally! mee too. i still struggle can really pack w plants and its just ok. works better than not
@@caroline61804 I used to get so worried about being behind on pruning, things looking neat, etc, that I ended up not doing anything and not planting. She has really helped me with that. I still need to be much bolder, but I have noticed I always have things to plant now and delay much less, which is a big change for me. Sounds like we are all growing and growing. Yay!
Yee Vita i was planting one kale plant per 18 gallon tote. now i just made one w 3 kale w 1 verticle plant and a large raddish. theres lots of scraps from kitchen too. lol. its just plants! at least now can eat a bit from garden now
I do not 🙂
Robbie, do you sell your veggies at the farmers' market ?
Green horn worms destroyed my plants. I’m so sad
Pick them off, the earlier the better. Wasps and birds and praying mantis and other predators take care of most of my caterpillars, but no predator is 100%. When I see damage, I do check, just in case. The other day, I found a leaf with maybe 6 caterpillars on it. I found a few more other caterpillars and threw them all to the fish. You can squash the caterpillars or just throw them somewhere else to dry out.
@@yeevita . We’re still hitting 110 out here in southern Az so I haven’t been wanting to go out there to check daily. By the time I did go inspect the damage was just too far gone already.
Attract birds with water features & birdseed - they will eat yr horn worms too
I so highly appreciate your consideration for not eating on camera…I have issues with mouth sounds and it’s almost impossible to stick with a channel because everyone sounds so disgusting eating.
Great tour
