Yeah. This is a strong deviation from what actually happened. In canon Vader was ready to kill Palps. At best it would have been mutual destruction had Palpatine not talked him down. More than that, Palpatine was still convinced Vader could overcome his injuries and mental trauma. He routinely praised the purity of Vader's evil, power and commitment to the dark side. He was weary that Vader could still surpass him, but also kept in mind to look for replacements in the event that never came to fruition.

Afterwards, Palpatine immediately puts a lightsaber at Vader's neck whilst reminding him of his trauma, more psychological manipulation. The scene in a comic was a showcase of how Vader is actually more powerful then Palpatine in terms of raw Force power, but Palpatine uses psychological manipulation and a type advantage to keep him in-line. It allows Vader to remain terrifying, powerful, and have agency as a villain whilst still retaining Palpatine's position as a master manipulator. This has lost all of the nuance of the original confrontation.
That comic has it all wrong and should be stripped. Palpatine is way more powerful than any of them. Vader would not have been able to do that to Palpatine at all. The Emperor could have snapped Vader neck by simply willing it. I have studied everything written about Palpatine. The man did not fall into or was seduced by the force, he was born from the force, in the force.
@@randalcook325 Nah, what was wrong was the Prequel era media that kept stripping Vader of so many of the things that made him iconic. Vader should be a powerful and menacing villain. Palpatine should be too, but he shouldn't be infinitely better then everyone else. I much prefer the dynamic in the comic. They both have their respective strengths and weaknesses which makes it more interesting and allows both villains to shine in their own right.

DAMN!!!... this was a great scene. Vader told the Emperor "you have failed me" in which the Emporer responded "you have failed yourself" in which Vader attacks him. The Emporer then jacked up Vader six ways till Tuesday, showing him who's the badass here and warned him if he attacks him again he'll destroy him...😳😳😳
I am pretty sure this was done with help of Ai like polo ai, you can even see some artifacts at 0:30 where the face of Palpatine is weirdly transformed for a glimpse of an eye. But still impressive work, though
It's funny how the Emperors face changes in almost every scene here. Look especially when Vader rises from the floor. But I like how the Emperor talks and how he walks away - walking unusually fast for being him. I like his ghostlike voice in some scenes here.

This pretty much actually happened. I'm pretty sure in the novelisation, when Vader shouted "NOO!" and destroyed the whole room, he force pushed palpatine against a wall and tried to kill him, but palpatine struck him with force lightning
Great addition. Although I'm wondering if the word "slave" would be too overly clear, and provocative for Anakin. I think Palpatine would be more crafty than to use that term. Perhaps he could have said, "You are still my most powerful weapon (or tool)." Palpatine already made his point clear and Vader was such a prominent server for so long under Palpatine after this. That would also explain why he felt he had to outshine the Deathstar in A New Hope. "The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force" to assure himself.
I love Star Wars as much as the next guy and this added scene is very creative. The only piece I don't agree on is Vader losing to his father Palpatine so quickly. Vader/Anakin is extremely powerful as all Star Wars fans know, so I think it makes sense that Vader should put up more of a fight than was depicted here. After all, he's the one who killed Count Dooku.
This scene would be a good way to tell the people watching that Vader's suit is weak against the emperor's lighting and it was done purposely by the emperor to keep vader in check. So Vader while in this suit can never hope to defeat Sidious.
Why didnt Anakin ever seek to improve his suit like i know he was good with mechanical knowledge like how he was with droids so why didnt he try to improve his suit that clearly hindered him i also know the suit was painful and uncomfortable which fueled his power but still it was obviously a suit with many purposeful design flaws
Vader did absolutely nothing to upgrade his suit, become stronger than Palpatine, or surpass him in any way. Vader never used his anger and hatred to overthrow Palpatine or destroy him. And Palpatine was not happy with that at all because that’s what a Sith is supposed to do. Any Sith apprentice worth anything will always figure out a way to overcome their weaknesses in order to replace their master. Vader didn’t do that. Palpatine told Vader that Vader was more than strong enough to kill him if he wanted to but he could never replace him as Sith Master. Why? Vader/Anakin never truly embraced the philosophy of the Sith. He still loved various people more than he loved being truly evil. If you’re a Sith, loving the Dark Side and the power it brings you is essential to gaining and retaining even more power. Vader never really wanted power like that. He just wanted to protect his loved ones. Vader’s fall to the Dark Side was more circumstantial than it was a true choice on his part. Look at somebody like Darth Malgus, for example. The second his master got so injured that he wasn’t strong enough to protect himself and fight, Malgun killed him and took his place. To further drive the point home, Malgus loved the Dark Side so much he murdered his own wife just so he wouldn’t have any more attachments. Vader is one of the most tragic characters in science fiction history. Perhaps in any genre.
@ He does, but it’s virtually useless for anything considering how badly he was burned. Besides, he didn’t have any interest in repairing it because Padme was the only woman he ever loved. Vader hates himself, he was too emotionally numb, and he was too depressed to be sexually attracted to anyone else. He didn’t really have much in the way of a sex drive after Padme died so there was never any motivation to fix his junk so he could use it again. The subject of sex and sexual desire never really comes up in Star Wars because, believe it or not, George Lucas intended for the franchise to be a children’s story.

A scene like this in the actual film would have so much further completed Anakin / Vader's character arc. He should have been pushed to the brink of death again by Palpatine and put back on the operating table just as a point of knowing his place. Something like that would have given some real gravity to his line to Luke in ROTJ that he must obey his master. Further it would show his concern for Luke and his well being and make his sacrifice all the more impactful. A man can dream, I'm glad with what we got anyway. For all the flak the prequels got they were original in their own right and had the story of Anakin's fall and Palpatine's rise to tell. Something Disney knows nothing about.
I wasn't sure if Vader was going to choke Palpatine or punch him. But it was entertaining to watch. I wish there could be an alternate timeline where Vader succeeds in killing Palpatine in this moment to appease his own anger. But I noticed that this scene resembles that which was shown in the comics.
I swear i read in a star wars comic once this kinda happened off screen but vader tried to force choke him and obvs got out in his place with force lightning then palpatine showed him how the people of coruscant was throwing jedi light sabers in a furnace while the new flags of the empire came down

But it wasn't. In the actual comic, Vader actually pins Palpatine to a wall with the Force, overpowering him. Palpatine has to use his lying snake tongue to get out of it.

This is the way it is too, so many vader fans want to argue Vader surpasses Sidious and vader never tried overthrowing Sidious because he was the only person he had left, excuses, excuses, vader was never more powerful than Sidious after his injuries, he never reached that potential, it also wouldn’t be logical for Disney to make vader more powerful than sidious, vader who is part droid more powerful than a being made of pure dark force energy, so powerful he can create force storms and conquer space, vader is powerful but he isn’t on his masters level of raw force power.

DAMN!!!... this was a great scene. Vader told the Emperor "you have failed me" in which the Emporer responded "you have failed yourself" in which Vader attacks him. The Emporer then jacked up Vader six ways till Tuesday, showing him who's the badass here and warned him if he attacks him again he'll destroy him...😳😳😳

I am pretty sure this was done with help of Ai like polo ai, you can even see some artifacts at 0:30 where the face of Palpatine is weirdly transformed for a glimpse of an eye. But still impressive work, though

It's funny how the Emperors face changes in almost every scene here. Look especially when Vader rises from the floor. But I like how the Emperor talks and how he walks away - walking unusually fast for being him. I like his ghostlike voice in some scenes here.

I feel even more sorry for the guy watching this. Palpatine is hardcore messed up. Watching Palpatine's destruction in "Return of the Jedi", I rewind & rewatch multiple times Vader destroying his former master.
This pretty much actually happened. I'm pretty sure in the novelisation, when Vader shouted "NOO!" and destroyed the whole room, he force pushed palpatine against a wall and tried to kill him, but palpatine struck him with force lightning

Great addition. Although I'm wondering if the word "slave" would be too overly clear, and provocative for Anakin. I think Palpatine would be more crafty than to use that term. Perhaps he could have said, "You are still my most powerful weapon (or tool)." Palpatine already made his point clear and Vader was such a prominent server for so long under Palpatine after this. That would also explain why he felt he had to outshine the Deathstar in A New Hope. "The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force" to assure himself.

I love Star Wars as much as the next guy and this added scene is very creative. The only piece I don't agree on is Vader losing to his father Palpatine so quickly. Vader/Anakin is extremely powerful as all Star Wars fans know, so I think it makes sense that Vader should put up more of a fight than was depicted here. After all, he's the one who killed Count Dooku.

This scene would be a good way to tell the people watching that Vader's suit is weak against the emperor's lighting and it was done purposely by the emperor to keep vader in check. So Vader while in this suit can never hope to defeat Sidious.
We saw that at the end of ROTJ. His suit could not sustain him after he got fried.
Why didnt Anakin ever seek to improve his suit like i know he was good with mechanical knowledge like how he was with droids so why didnt he try to improve his suit that clearly hindered him i also know the suit was painful and uncomfortable which fueled his power but still it was obviously a suit with many purposeful design flaws

Vader did absolutely nothing to upgrade his suit, become stronger than Palpatine, or surpass him in any way. Vader never used his anger and hatred to overthrow Palpatine or destroy him. And Palpatine was not happy with that at all because that’s what a Sith is supposed to do. Any Sith apprentice worth anything will always figure out a way to overcome their weaknesses in order to replace their master. Vader didn’t do that. Palpatine told Vader that Vader was more than strong enough to kill him if he wanted to but he could never replace him as Sith Master. Why? Vader/Anakin never truly embraced the philosophy of the Sith. He still loved various people more than he loved being truly evil. If you’re a Sith, loving the Dark Side and the power it brings you is essential to gaining and retaining even more power. Vader never really wanted power like that. He just wanted to protect his loved ones. Vader’s fall to the Dark Side was more circumstantial than it was a true choice on his part.
Look at somebody like Darth Malgus, for example. The second his master got so injured that he wasn’t strong enough to protect himself and fight, Malgun killed him and took his place. To further drive the point home, Malgus loved the Dark Side so much he murdered his own wife just so he wouldn’t have any more attachments.
Vader is one of the most tragic characters in science fiction history. Perhaps in any genre.

He does, but it’s virtually useless for anything considering how badly he was burned. Besides, he didn’t have any interest in repairing it because Padme was the only woman he ever loved. Vader hates himself, he was too emotionally numb, and he was too depressed to be sexually attracted to anyone else. He didn’t really have much in the way of a sex drive after Padme died so there was never any motivation to fix his junk so he could use it again. The subject of sex and sexual desire never really comes up in Star Wars because, believe it or not, George Lucas intended for the franchise to be a children’s story.

"What If Revan Spared Malak's Life" though the parts where they talk will be static pictures. The beginning with walking will have motion. It's like they make it look so easy. And get like to 1k subscribers in less in month. And probably watch time. Lol.

A scene like this in the actual film would have so much further completed Anakin / Vader's character arc. He should have been pushed to the brink of death again by Palpatine and put back on the operating table just as a point of knowing his place. Something like that would have given some real gravity to his line to Luke in ROTJ that he must obey his master. Further it would show his concern for Luke and his well being and make his sacrifice all the more impactful. A man can dream, I'm glad with what we got anyway. For all the flak the prequels got they were original in their own right and had the story of Anakin's fall and Palpatine's rise to tell. Something Disney knows nothing about.
I wasn't sure if Vader was going to choke Palpatine or punch him. But it was entertaining to watch. I wish there could be an alternate timeline where Vader succeeds in killing Palpatine in this moment to appease his own anger. But I noticed that this scene resembles that which was shown in the comics.
